Have you ever felt like being the elder sibling of the house, killed your innocence? Like you have always been a "project" to your parents or the society rather than being JUST A CHILD TOO, like your younger siblings? Nidhi did too!
Nidhi Narwal performed this poem, the story of every "ghar ka bada baccha", at Spoken Fest 2022.

I was absolutely reluctant to perform this piece at spoken fest. I remember telling Kommune that “I’m not in love with what I’ve written in this one! Let me perform something else”
But then, the-day came and I was there! When I legit completed this honest rant, I realised this one very important thing - that you don’t always have to LOVE what you write. It’s important to write things which you absolutely HATE. Things which make you feel less and lonely. Things which make you uncomfortable. It’s important to write them and take the weight of those thoughts off your heart!
When I performed this at Spoken (thanks to Shantanu that I did it) all I felt was ‘light’
And I realised how important it is to feel light sometimes :’)
I hope you feel that my rant is your rant 😂 (but I also hope you don’t feel that it’s a rant)

Thank you for sharing this side of your. I want to say a lot but all I have is that your comment is just magical. Isne mujhe kuch esa yaad Kara Diya Jo mene bhi likha tha dard me aur usse Aaj bhi padke dard to hota hai but you make me realise that it is also that equally important to write about love and hate things. Also I want to tell you that I fell in love with writing and storytelling coz of you. The first story i heard was mein ajeeb nhi alag hoon and that was just amazing and very close to my heart. And being very honest just because of that story i heard many and then I also started to write and that writing has helped me a lot during my mental health issues. Thank you for always sharing the best and being you...

I cried badly at that line "papa mummy ki ladayi me bde ko nhi Rona" felt very deeply...I love my brother ❤️
"Being the older one definitely sucks" last night I cried thinking about my life as an older kid and maybe kommune heard it and Nidhi delivered it, thank you so much🥺❤️
Just can't stop crying......
I thought I was there speaking all those words....So so so relatable....
Being the elder child, it felt like someone said what i always had in my heart but wasn't ever able to tell it loud and clear to anyone, whatsoever.
When I used to feel angry about everything which I was and still going through, I used to blame myself that maybe I am doing something wrong and the problem lies with me. :((

I started to cry while listening to your poem... it just expressed my situation very well and how I wish that the way you expressed it our parents understand it then perhaps it can remove stamp of elder sibling....

Bt randomly hum kisi ladke ko leke aaye
Tohh 1 month m uske saath shaadi krke zindagi bhr k struggle k liye bhejne ko ready h
Tab apni beti h liye protective nhi hote

Kyuu apni aulaad ki Zindagi apne haath khatam kr dete h parents
Or fir bolte h humne tohh sab shi hi Kiya h tmhre liye
I feel so disheartened
Why our parents didn't want to understand us
Why can't they let us follow our dreams💔💔💔
