So far this Kore belt has been awesome. It holds my S&W 9mm 2.0 compact with NO problem. It's a solid gun belt. If you have back issues this is the belt for you. I've had 3 back surgeries and usually can't wear a belt for a long time. Let me tell you, with this belt being stiff if distributes all the weight and pressure equally all the way around your waist. I love the quarter inch adjustment. I can wear this belt all the time with with a iwb holster. I wear this belt with and without my gun, it's that good.
great video. almost went with kore except 1 thing changed my mind. Anson has a lifetime guarantee that will replace or repair the belt and Kore only offers a 1 year warranty, which also replaces the belt.
Same here. It's hard to beat the lifetime warranty from anson and it's the reason I went with them. Not to mention their customer service and aftercare seems to be excellent. But from my understanding the belt/strap itself is not warrantied for life. It's just the buckle but I could be wrong. But I have only bought the 1.25" dress belts from Anson. I do like the look of the kore essential 1.5" solid leather belts without the stitching. So I may go that route for casual belts.
I will say, it looks like you're comparing a 1.5" width Kore to a 1.25" width Anson. I'd nit-pick and say that's not quite apples to apples. I believe that's part of why the strap deformed more and possibly why the buckles felt different in terms of stability.
Anson belts also offers a 3 strap 2 buckle, or 2 strap 3 buckle combo for less than $100 (US) so that’s a much better deal. I own several Anson belts and never had a problem.
Hello Ben, thank you for making this video. I've just recently decided to try a ratchet style belt and I couldn't decide which brand to go with. After seeing your analysis, I'll be going with Kore.
Kore trakline belts win. I've been wearing Slidebelts (8) exclusively for the past 4 years, love their buckle, but the full-grain leather... meh. This is what tempted me to try Kore Belts, well, I am sold, their leather is awesome, and, I love the buckles even more than the SB ones! Will keep wearing both brands, but Kore is now my top kit for work and evening wear.
I can’t speak for Kore. I’ve never owned one, however I have several Anson belts and buckles. I’m not sure if KE offers this but Anson has steel core belts for us Americans who conceal carry firearms. I’ve found the belts to be excellent and both Ansons (father and son) offer very good and personal customer service. I do like that belt hanger tho!
Just received my first Kore track belt and I am blown away by how quickly it was received and the quality of the belt itself. As someone who fluctuates in waist size rather drastically, even during the day, I always had issues with traditional belts with holes no fitting correctly. This Kore belt is a game changer for me! I highly recommend getting one.
If the track is similar and the buckles both attach similarly, could you mix the straps and belts between the two? Could be a good way to save money and still get a bazillion styles...
I know this is old! But I love the Mission Belt hanger. It works for both Mission and Anson belts I have. Also got the Kore Essentials hanger when I gifted my brother 2 of their dress belts. I'm about to purchase Kore Essentials belts I plan to wear with pant suits etc. I prefer the design of the buckle, the little "notch" on it makes it look traditional.
I prefer the kore belts too. I have 1 for dress and 2 when I carry a gun. Those are much beefier and more stiff but you can still wear them on days I do not carry.
I recently decided to purchase a new belt for work and the track type belts looked intriguing to me. So I looked into quality of belts made by different companies. I ran across an individual that purchased different brands of belts at the same price point, all with the ratchet type adjustment. The belt by Kore Essentials was one of the belts in the lineup and it seemed to have the most quality for the same price. Kore has a better buckle mechanism, full grain leather belt, and a good choice in buckle styles and finishes that I liked. It seemed like more of a mans belt. Now that I have it I can see it's true and I'm glad I got the Kore belt.
Are there any quality ratchet belts that has no flap? My father in law gave my husband his first ratchet belt where the flap goes out inside, so the flap ends up hidden. The mechanism has finally broken after 5 years of use in our first year of parenthood. My FIL is gone now so we can’t ask where he got it. In any case, we are pretty certain he got it from one of the shops that sells goods from China. I’ve not been able to find the same mechanism. Any ideas?
I haven’t found anyone who has mentioned compatibility between ratchet belt brands. They all seem to have the same (or very similar) track on the back of the belt, so it seems. Will an Anson buckle work on a Kore strap and/or vice versa?
I'm working up a comparison review for my channel between Anson, Kore and Slidebelts. I've found the buckles and straps are interchangeable between the brands so long as the strap width is the same.
I personally hate faking the pin of the classical buckle, it's fake, maybe it's easy to conceal, but I still feel it's fake. Other than that, I don't own neither, and thanks for the info you added, because I actually want to buy one.
I got a couple of Anson belts for Christmas, and I LOVE THEM! I will never go back to belts with holes. And they actually do have a casual leather available (the vegetable tanned leather), it looks killer! On another note, do the Anson belts fit on the Kore belt hanger?
Kameron Beveridge unfortunately the anson belts dont work with the kore hanger. I've seen the vegetable tanned belt and although it's square it still has the stitching and I prefer the look and feel of the stitch free kore belt
We’ll just have to agree to disagree then. Thanks for all the awesome content you put out, I’m a fairly new subscriber and I appreciate the fresh and honest perspective that you bring to the men’s style community. Keep up the good work!
These Kore track belts are very well made & a classy product. Easy to use, durable, and fashionable. This belt goes with both casual & dress clothing. It is very pliable & comfortable to wear. The buckle is a unique design and eye-catching! I love the adjustment action & ease of operation!
Kore has the belt hanger and their buckles seem more traditional and the straps has hold up it's look and is softer. Plus i was able to get the strap for $9 on sale and the buckle was $24 so it came out cheaper. Notice you didn't say that the belt hanger was compatible with Anson belts.
+Arturo Olivo Jr it isn't compatible with most of the Anson belts apparently, it only works with one of the two I own and even then it's not secure unfortunately
I've been wearing Kore belts for over a year and a half now, and they just can't be beat for style and function. It's the best invention since the wheel. There are competitors but in my opinion nobody beats Kore Essentials. They're top notch.
Ben, Did you find the buckles as light as traditional belt buckles? I have an older ratchet belt which has a buckle that weighs a ton. Very uncomfortable.
If you have an affiliate link with Kore and a discount code which links purchases to your influence, I assume you get a piece of each sale? If so, this is not an unbiased review.
It is a lot easier to remove the belt from the buckle on the the larger Anson belts, dunno why. I have 3 of them and the larger belt is just easier to release, no problem. Maybe its because it uses the more dressy softer leather.
Kore definitely makes the best quality ratchet buckles and track belts. I was looking for a SOLID stainless steel ratchet buckle.... the plated ones eventually wear off. I FOUND IT! The Kore solid stainless buckles with a full-grain leather belt. You can't beat them. All the other companies are plated.
Sylvia Yu Kore just improved the buckles, too, with the addition of two Allen Screws. They have discovered that if you are carrying a gun,the teeth by themselves are not sufficient to grip the belt.
The Kore belt is a life changer. Kore makes great quality, amazingly simple to use track belts, that give you the ability to tighten it to exactly where you want it …life changing. I will be getting more!
Definitely a bias review. Should have tried to get codes for both if anything but yeah very bias. I think anson's mechanism is better because its hidden away unless the the exposed one Kore has all be it not that much.
I have to wear my belts tight sometimes. Does the Kore buckle dig uncomfortably into your stomach when you wear them tight? The Ansom belt buckle seems to be even on the inner side (a middle piece in center on level with both ends), unlike the Kore belt buckle that seems to protrude at each end....seems like it will be stabbing you in the stomach.
@John - look up some ratchet belts on Amazon. You will find the exact same belts as Anson and Kore, but at a fraction of the price that still look and function great.
I like the Marino Avenue Men’s Genuine Leather Ratchet Dress Belt with Linxx Buckle. The Linxx buckle is ht Kore should have adapted instead of the 50 year old release mechanism they have.
I was having difficulty choosing between anson or kole and it came down to the overall look of the belts and option choices. Anson wins both imo. Kore's classic looking buckles look pretty generic. And depending on which one you choose, it drives the price of the belt up to $60. They have fewer colors and material choices when it comes to their belts as well. You also neglect to mention Anson gives you an extra belt or buckle if you get a box set. So possible 6 combinations for $100 bucks. Anson for me all the way although I would be tempted to consider a kore carry belt, anson makes these too but I havent heard as much about their performance as I have with the kore carry belts. Anson also has a lifetime warranty compared to the 1 year warranty from kole. Js
I guess with the buckles the reason some are more expensive is because they have stainless steel ones, whereas Anson don't (as far as I'm aware). Anson do have a great choice but you may as well get a low cost Chinese belt as they are essentially the same apart from buckle designs. Identical mechanism and you can get near identical leather. Although I guess it depends what you're looking for in a belt, for some Anson may be all they need/want
EveryMan I'm confused. You went from discussing your opinion on 2 awesome belt companies to saying if someone is considering Anson, they might as well get a cheap chinese belt, bc Anson doesnt have stainless buckles?? Am I missing something? I was content with your opinion and I was simply offering mine as an average consumer. It did feel like you were pushing kole harder and after your response its pretty clear you have an obvious bias, my guess is you get a kickback from those using that discount code from kole. They both seem like cool companies. For me, I liked the asthetics of the ansons, the options, the buying process. and the warranty. Thats doesnt mean I wont try kole belts out in the future. I suppose I'll find a cheap chinese knock off version of your channel ;) Your credibility and motive is questionable. Cheers
Now I'm the one that's confused, mate. You said how the buckles increase the price, so I told you the reason certain ones cost more with Kore? (with the intention to provide an answer for a viewer, and to accurately inform other viewers reading the comments). I'd say that's directly relevant to your comment, wouldn't you? I wasn't arguing, just offering you my opinion too; surely if you are allowed to give yours, I can give mine without criticism? I'd say that's rather hypocritical, wouldn't you? I was hardly criticising you in my casual reply. I can guarantee the code doesn't give me any kickback, literally if you click the link and look at the url, it's just a generic one, you can clearly see there's no affiliate code within it. Kore don't even have an affiliate program haha. Since filming this video, I've been sent ratchet belts from a variety of companies; many of which are near identical to the Anson belt; thus reducing its market viability for me, hence reducing the positivity of my responses. Of course, I have a bias after comparing the two, as I think the Kore belt is the better belt; how does that make my credibility or motive questionable? Literally, the reason I was more positive about the Kore belt is that I think it's a better belt lol. Or would you rather me lie to everyone?
Crash - Man it's easy to tell that you really sparked a nerve with everyman; by reading his responses ... LOL. I too am confused about some of everyman's claims, especially when talking about "cheap Chinese" comparison to Anson and how Kore "prices" are Reflected with their Quality in their "buckles". But if you actually visit Kore's website and lookup info on their products and where they are manufactured, they clearly state, "All of our products are designed, proto-typed and tested at our offices in San Diego, California, USA - and MANUFACTURED in Asia --- Doing so enables us to save a substantial amount of money that we pass on to customers"... Hmm[?], last time I checked, "CHINA" was part of Asia, no? Anyway, to each it's own, I prefer a "Lifetime Warranty" over a "1 year Warranty" on any "Chinese" product, any day of the week. However I've seen both do have good reviews, and liked "EveryMan's" review on both also.
Lifetime warranty is only on the functionality of the belt. That means if the buckle coating chips or wears off or the belt strap cracks and winkles it isn'y covered.
Hope you enjoyed this one guys! A video I have been wanting to do for ages. What are your thoughts on these brands and ratchet belts in general? Let me know in the comments! DISCLAIMER: Despite making it clear in the video, commenters are still thinking this is sponsored. Once again, this is not a paid/sponsored video from either brand and the Kore discount code is not an affiliate commission link either; they just said my viewers could use it and obviously I want to pass any discount to you guys. Thanks :)
Just ordered a 3 pack from anson. Lifetime warranty is a big deal. I also like that anson seems to be a family run business who genuinely cares about their products their customers and reputation
Hey man!! Rewatced this and oh cool you do have both the stitched and non stitched kore belts. You said the non stitched is better but are they the same width across like the buckle part of the belt ? You know like not the length in the belt .laying the belt down like the width across the top of the flat of you get me?
I had a Kore for probably a year and a half. One day at work I had a tool pouch on and bent over and heard a pop. The belt broke in half. Core was some kind of plastic or something
Buckle Up, we have a winner - Kore Essentials! Forget the competition, Kore belts are the best. Exactly what I have craved for years. Need a little extra belly room at the table? No problem! Need to tighten it up In a matter of seconds? No problem! I am already planning on buying more for myself & others. What are you waiting for?
It doesn't work consistently, out of my two Anson belts, one doesn't work with the hanger at all, whilst the other does but has to be perfectly aligned
Great review. I was planning on getting a new belt without holes and found Anson, but they did seem to run a bit pricey. I saw they had a deal for 3 belts and 2 buckles for $100 USD which would be around $130 CAD for me. I personally like the selection of canvas belts from Anson, and might lean towards them. But can someone suggest if they would be worth it for the money? Or should I look for cheaper brands?
From what I've seen they can be used interchangeably. Just make sure they are both the same size as a 1.5 belt isn't going to fit in the 1.25 buckle for obvious reasons.
I use Kore now. I had been using an Anson belt for the past 2 years and loved that belt but it fell short in one area: after about 6 months the buckle would fall off due to the teeth not being aggressive enough to dig into the leather. Kore's design is much better, the teeth are much more aggressive...once you snap it shut, it really digs into the leather to become one. I think that it will hold up for at least 5 year or longer.
I just got some Anson belts and they did something genius. Where I live, on orders of 25$ and up from shops outside of the country ypu have to pay extra tax or whatever to call it. Anspn actually set the value of the package to 23$ instead of 120$ which saved me 50$.
+John Barry yeah as I showed at the end of the video, the discount code was voluntarily given to me by kore, I didnt ask for it. It's also not an affiliate link, so I dont get commission either; therefore I don't understand your comment
Ben says in the video he would never go back to a belt with holes, but wears Kore Essentials belt buckle that looks like the belt has holes. lol. What's that all about?
Hey :) basically, the belts with holes just end up getting mashed around the hole area; which is what makes them look bad. I'm not so bothered about the buckle style/appearance itself I guess
I put one in my cart on their website but never ordered. They sent an email to me apologizing for not doing enough to convince me to buy it so to make it up they were providing me a link back to my cart. No discount, no information to convince me. Just a link back to my cart.
Seems like you're just shilling for kore under the guise of a review, you're even bringing up points people have made against your brand as if you're fighting for them. I don't like that, if you want to chill for Kore, say it outright, start the videos saying well these guys blow this other company out of the water. I feel like I'm being lied to, I don't like that, I don't like this video.

@@Insight5504 Belt and strap are both warrantied. Just had my belt replaced due to failure.
Does Kore offer a lifetime guarantee like Anson? nope. You get one year. I will stick with Anson
Facts! That lifetime warranty means alot!
Dont have a kore but have worn my black leather anson for about 16 months every day and still looking new.
Thanks for the test drive and the discount code. I've wanted to try a track belt and your review made the choice easy.
NCPATRIOT glad you found it useful!
I purchased a Anson belt and buckle afew months ago and the screw fell out of the buckle. And Anson will not return my emails about this matter.
I prefer the kore belts too. I have 1 for dress and 2 when I carry a gun. Those are much beefier and more stiff but you can still wear them on days I do not carry.

I have the kore belt brand and its the best belt I've ever used. It's also the only belt I use. Wear it every day.
Are Kore and Anson buckles interchangeable with each other? For example, can you use a Kore buckle on an Anson belt? Thanks for the video!
I haven’t found anyone who has mentioned compatibility between ratchet belt brands. They all seem to have the same (or very similar) track on the back of the belt, so it seems. Will an Anson buckle work on a Kore strap and/or vice versa?

Possible to fit an Anson buckle on a Kore belt? Just wondering
Same! The mechanisms look identical
I've purchased other ratcheting belts before but my Kore belt definitely seems better made.
will the spring mechanism on the kore essentials last longer than the magnet mechanism on the anson's?
Kore has the belt hanger and their buckles seem more traditional and the straps has hold up it's look and is softer. Plus i was able to get the strap for $9 on sale and the buckle was $24 so it came out cheaper. Notice you didn't say that the belt hanger was compatible with Anson belts.

How does this suggested "WINNER" compare to the "nexbelt" ??
How many videos did u do before u made it look so easy?
I loke the core because its reinforced for concealed carry.
hey could you explain how its reinforced? like the strap or the buckle?
Anson has a poly core reinforced belt for a ccw as well, leather and nylon in 1.5”.
Sylvia Yu the strap
Sylvia Yu Kore just improved the buckles, too, with the addition of two Allen Screws. They have discovered that if you are carrying a gun,the teeth by themselves are not sufficient to grip the belt.

When a video answers exactly what you needed to know :)
Can i use an Anson clip on a Kore belt
Yes
Sorry man, you’re a bit bias on your review. Advertising a discount code with your name for Kore is not a fair review.
Look further down in the comments. He explains the code.
Definitely a bias review. Should have tried to get codes for both if anything but yeah very bias. I think anson's mechanism is better because its hidden away unless the the exposed one Kore has all be it not that much.

Thanks :)
Any reviews done for a free product are fake.
Hey man. If you see my other comment that starts with hey man on this video can you please respond. Peace
Just ordered a 3 pack from anson. Lifetime warranty is a big deal. I also like that anson seems to be a family run business who genuinely cares about their products their customers and reputation
can you use a kore belt with anson buckle and vice versa?
Mr. Arthur; Thx for this exhaustive review. I didn't even know they offered a slim belt line! Be well !
Kore hands down for me. Especially their gun belts.👍
I prefer the kore as well after having tried a few others that were cheaper but less well made. Get whatcha...
Can I use an a son belt strap with the Kore buckle and vice versa?
Yes as long as the belt width is the same.
The Kore hanger works with Anson belts too lol
It doesn't work consistently, out of my two Anson belts, one doesn't work with the hanger at all, whilst the other does but has to be perfectly aligned
Great review. I was planning on getting a new belt without holes and found Anson, but they did seem to run a bit pricey. I saw they had a deal for 3 belts and 2 buckles for $100 USD which would be around $130 CAD for me.
I personally like the selection of canvas belts from Anson, and might lean towards them. But can someone suggest if they would be worth it for the money? Or should I look for cheaper brands?
I still think even with the deal, Kore are a better value offering, however you have to choose a belt you know you like the look of
Anson provides a lifetime warranty whereas Kore only 1 year.
I wish I would find content like these for the spanish market I am from. Regards!
Can you switch belts and buckles between the 2 brands eg Anson buckle with Kore belt etc ?
+cheong728 possibly with the slim belts but not with the regular ones, it's mainly within each brand that they are customiseable
Thanks for replying. Not the answer I was hoping for, but oh well.
What belt style do you prefer with chinos?
Will a kore buckle work on an anson belt?
From what I've seen they can be used interchangeably.
Just make sure they are both the same size as a 1.5 belt isn't going to fit in the 1.25 buckle for obvious reasons.
I use Kore now. I had been using an Anson belt for the past 2 years and loved that belt but it fell short in one area: after about 6 months the buckle would fall off due to the teeth not being aggressive enough to dig into the leather. Kore's design is much better, the teeth are much more aggressive...once you snap it shut, it really digs into the leather to become one. I think that it will hold up for at least 5 year or longer.
Jason 4tl could you use the Kore buckles on the Anson straps ?
Who cares it has a lifetime warranty they will take care of you.
I just got some Anson belts and they did something genius. Where I live, on orders of 25$ and up from shops outside of the country ypu have to pay extra tax or whatever to call it. Anspn actually set the value of the package to 23$ instead of 120$ which saved me 50$.
What about slidebelts?
Agree kore makes stronger better quality belts in mho. Esp if you carry a gun kore makes a reinforced beefed up belt thats super nice too.
Kore it is!
lol, she put the belt on upside down.
Well in her defense, she's probably more used to seeing the belt from that angle down there, if you catch my drift. 😏 😂
How i can buy it form indonesia?
I believe both ship internationally but there will be some form of customs charge. Kore is most likely going to be cheaper in Indonesia
Can you tell me... where i must buy it?
This is my phone No 082144466466 WA available
I will never ho back to holes
There is no comparison, Its Kore Essentials or nothing at all. That simple.
Got anson belts...the wide and narrow belts. The narrow one is great the wide belt 'slips' when I get it snug. Disappointed.
The Anson tracks wear out after a few years
Anson has a lifetime warranty and excellent customer service. They are currently sending me a strap replacement.
Says video isn't sponsored, has Kore discount code
+John Barry yeah as I showed at the end of the video, the discount code was voluntarily given to me by kore, I didnt ask for it. It's also not an affiliate link, so I dont get commission either; therefore I don't understand your comment
I think Anson is kinda more stylish
My Belts are Broken right Next to my Pant Loop
for long term use, Anson fails. Both buckle and belt.
With Kore you get More
Another 20 minute video that should have been 7 minutes.
anson belts provide lifetime warranty, but core does not.
Kore blimey!
Don’t let your girlfriend dress you.
Kore is definitely better!
Kore has good belts, but your customer service is not even close to Anson's. They really rock with their service!
I put one in my cart on their website but never ordered. They sent an email to me apologizing for not doing enough to convince me to buy it so to make it up they were providing me a link back to my cart. No discount, no information to convince me. Just a link back to my cart.
@@MrWhaatay lol.
No lifetime warranty I'll pass!
I think u got sponsored
This video was completely unsponsored John
Clicking in the background music is annoying, FYI
Satin, not velvet!
This feels very biased...
Yes this feels like an ad in disguise
WTF!
