I heard this song at a record store and immediately bought all of their albums and a ticket to their next show in my city. I never do that kind of thing. That's how good this band is. Don't even really listen to any current singer/songwriter, indie rock type music or whatever you might compare this to. Best rock band in years.

Adrienne is the best singer songwriter working today, and they're my favorite band. So nice to have a band I feel this excited about again. I feel like everyone who knows them knows how special they are. It's awesome!

Bit of musical theory to help explain why this song is so mesmerizing: the song alternates between the 5th and the 4th chord without (I think) hitting the 1st, kind of unusual..
They do hit the 1, though weakly, mostly when the melody hits its highest note in the verse. But I agree, the sense is of no resolution, and the lyrics add to that.
Also, the time signature is a little ambiguous at times, which adds to it. This song is so interesting to listen to from a musical theory perspective, and so beautiful just to listen to :)

i’m originally from Northwest Indiana and this song weirdly makes me feel nostalgic for a place I genuinely disliked when I was growing up. Part of me wants to just be back up there sitting on lake michigans shore and watching the cattails sway in the wind.
