    Yeah I was having the same problem myself and I changed to an emerger klinkhammer and I was getting fish after fish i even caught a perch on the fly rod it was the best day ive ever had fly fishing a river were local people were saying to me there is no fish in the water and I should them the photos and they were all shocked .

    A few things. 1. I would recommend using a curved hook and something like a Klinkhammer BWO or BWO Sprout emerger pattern, WD40s is another great option. Also, versus using high and dry here, I'd just grease the floating portion with Gink or something similar (seems like less work). 3. There are great dropper set ups for emergers which you didn't get into or other tactics like trying sink and swing if the dry emerger isn't working before switching patterns.
