- What's going on UA-cam?!?! It's been a minute, but I'm back! We're gonna be kicking off a series of videos from my trip to TEXAS with this one. We were in west Texas searching for aoudad (preferably BIG RAMS) during this series. Speaking of searching, glassing up aoudad is a real LEGIT search. They are extremely tough to find on the mountain. Usually when we did spot them, they were literally miles away and we had to come up with a game plan to get near them. This particular video shows some of the searching, glassing and exploring we did on the first two days of the trip. Great video so you’ll know contrary to popular belief aoudad are excellent eating. I’ve taken a 125 pound aoudad and it was just as good as an axis deer God bless.

I agree 100%!!! Aoudad are most definitely excellent eating. Most of the information I've found online referenced how they were tough & inedible, but that is not the case at all. I've had both a ram & ewe, & both were phenomenal! I've learned to never believe what I read online in reference to animals being tough or gamey. More often than not, they've never even had the wild game they're disparaging.
