I was stationed at DacDill 75-77, 1st TFW and 56th - F4-E, Aero Repair, Crash Recovery, tow targets, etc

I was so proud to go to McDill AFB after Desert Storm. That's where I first saw the A-10 "Warthog". Awesome plane. And walked through a B-52.

I think if you research, most Air Force bases predate the "US Air Force". It was the Army Air Corps at the time.
To name one also in Florida is Eglin AFB....Tyndall AFB was a AAC gunnery range prior to the US AFB accepting it in 1`948...Keesler AFB at Biloxi, Mississippi.
My father, now deceased, was a P47 fighter pilot during WWII and retired in 1969 from the Air Force.
