  • Nice Plane, don't really care for the plastic tape holding on the rear stab, but had me pulling at my hair trying to get CG. issue resolved. Hope Horizon Hobby Tech Support is right on this one.
    Just thought to pass this info along A.S.A.P. before someone messes up their plane trying to fly it with an incorrect cg. As far as the tape is concerned, check out this Video of someone who found out the hard way. Kudos for the share from this guy. Thanks Buddy. • Flite Test Night Radia...

    Hi Skip Thank you for the update on the Radian I just brought one and let me tell you that the servos are not all that reliable so i changed mine to the Turigy 5009om metal gear analog as one guy here had a rudder failure and found the servo had stripped so for what its worth just be mindful of that. cheers bill in Tasmania

    Hey skipper! I ended up buying this plane for my 60th Birthday. I wanted an AR-15 but the wife complained. It works every time. I tell her, your choice, plane or gun, you decide. I get a plane every time. Your CG was wrong but you know that now. The bigger battery is wrong, more weight means no glider.

    Thanks for the info. I got mine two weeks ago and have been trying to get it balanced. I tried a 2200 hundred all the way forward and some weight and feels way to heavy.

      Yep, Flew it tonight at 3 in.cg.. and it flew well with a 2200 all the way back leaving a tad nose heavy. Perfect..!!!

    Hey Skip! Thanks for the info on the revised CG. I just got one and was thinking the same that no way the CG could be right! I thought I would check and see if there was some info from others and BAM there you are! Just did a quick check flight and it was good... other than trying to land in a someone what small area, took a couple attempts, first sail plane lol! Thumbs up for sharing and the video! Best regards!

    I have the same CG problem. With a 2200ma battery pack installed quite forward in the cockpit, I still needed to add a couple of lead weights to achieve the 2.5" CG per the manual. Without these, the CG was around 3". I decided to raise a support ticket with the European support desk and explained that I saw this video and what my planes natural CG was. The response was within 24 hours and simply stated the CG is per the manual at 2.5". The glider seems to fly OK with the weights although some down trim is needed for level flight with SAFE switched on. Being an inexperienced flyer, I am a little reluctant to undo my changes in case the glider becomes unstable. I also wonder why the CG was not picked up by the Flight Test guys? BTW, I used some 50mm transparent waterproof Duck repair tape to fix the stabiliser in position.

    Thanx for the info, so 3 inch for CG, but how you balanc a foldable prop?

    • @SkipBuiltRC
      @SkipBuiltRC  6 років тому

      weigh each prop blade individually. I did,nt but will before I fly it.

    My CG measures 80mm when the battery (1500mAh) is as most forward at possible. When I place in a place where I can fasten it with the strap the CG is 90 mm (3.5"). Do you recommend flying with the CG at 3.5"? What else to do?

    • @SkipBuiltRC
      @SkipBuiltRC  5 років тому

      3 inches with 2200 35c all the way back. It should bal perfectly with a tad of nose

    We are not allowed to fly at night here in Australia, there would be massive UFO sightings if I flew that plane here at night...lol👍😀

    Yes mine was a lot tail heavy, I tried a 1500 3s 25c and still tail heavy, what battery are you using, will it work on 4 s 25c? Thanks

    • @Aguilq59

      4s 2200 wich battery do you recommend and what c rating?

    • @SkipBuiltRC
      @SkipBuiltRC  6 років тому

      No. A 4s will not work in this one. The sec is rated too low for the higher volts. Here's the fix. Mark at 3 inches c.g. and use a 2200 mah 3s and it will fly like a dream for about half an hour or so. But set your timer at 7 min. with the 2200.

    • @SkipBuiltRC
      @SkipBuiltRC  6 років тому

      3s 2200 30-35c.

    Yeah, I havent flown in a month. The weather has NOT been nice. Cold...oh yeah..real cold. Upper Michigan got 1.5 inches of snow. Set a new recorded record for snow in Michigan. Why was adding weight so strange? My Waco by Dynam required weight in the nose. All of them did. Never add a larger battery to make weight. Add peel and stick tire weights, available at all tire repair places. They use them on Aluminum rims instead of clamp on weights. I do like the light system. Hey quick question. What is price difference on lighted vs non lighted? To those wondering, you can order and install your own lighting very easily. Banggood.com offers reels of Leds as well as lighting controls. I ordered mine though a place that sells party lights. It was cheap by the roll. You can get the coated weather proof lights, still on a reel and still programable. Voltage can be changed by using DC/ ac boards. Its all easy to do. I have been doing my own lighting for 2 years now including Turnigy navigation lights.

      Yep, me too. I've even created my own lighting and sound systems for rc planes. What a gas

    Lightest way to cure tail heavy will be lead in the nose, not big batteries. Darn!

    • @SkipBuiltRC
      @SkipBuiltRC  6 років тому

      We tried weight in the nose. and it wasn't enough unles bigger batt. But I knew that had to be wrong. Got the correct ,revised, c.g. from HH. 3 in cg. does the trick with the prescribed batts. Thanks, but I still would disagree with not using a larger batt if applicable rather than adding dead weight. why not take advantage of the extra power that added weight gives...!!! Happy flying, Skip
