Missing Nationals and Silver Certificates. The monochrome to current series changed to one Federal Reserve System seal instead of individual District Seals. The Series 1996 started with A. Series 1999 with B, first year for Monochrome 5s. The number like A1 or I9 is to show the District it was printed for, and the Serial number will have the second prefix letter match the District letter for security purposes, ie, a counterfeit might not match them up.
