As always a lovely video. The reaction of the staff at the little cafe is just how a lot of places used to be a few years ago. The more people ask for vegan options in remote places, the sooner everywhere will realise it’s really not that difficult to cater for us. As Janine said baked beans on toast. In the end they had a soup which turned out to be vegan anyway so the next vegans that go in will have that offered to them. You’ve started a little ripple affect there !! They’d best stock up on that soup 😂
hi Liam & Janine, I only found you recently and trying to go through all your videos. I love it that you are both such a loving couple and no foul language either. I am so envious of your travel adventures.
Omg that cafe!!! ‘We wouldn’t really do that’ for beans on toast!!! And they hardly were even aware of the vegetable soup jeez you guys were so patient! 🙏🏼💜❤️💙
Another great peak at your adventures, look forward to the next! I always worry when we are travelling into the middle of nowhere that we are going to come across Royston vasey:)
Stephanie 🌹 Rose here from, FLORIDA🌴 I shared you with my grown son today, he lives in a different city and I was telling him about your travels and sent him a link to your videos. He said that sounded like so much fun! When they travel I asked them to video like you do LOL I feel lucky when I get a few pictures ☺️ thank you for letting me👣 tag along with you.🙏 Stay well, Be safe 🐚
Great video Janine and Liam. That vegetable soup looked amazing and yummy 😋 The recipe you made at the end was awesome 👌 and a ideally meal in a windy area to keep you both warm. Love🥰 the video and love💕💕 you both.
Loving this series. It's bringing back happy memories as my parents lived in Thurso for a few years. Just to give you their 'proper' name, the big ginger hairy beasts are known north of the border as "heilan' coos". Safe journeys!
Hi @@collinhunter9792 They were there about 15 years after you then; my dad was in charge of the Episcopal church and they lived across the river from you in Pennyland. Naver Place IIRC.
You were at the most northerly point of the UK Mainland. Orkney and Shetland are part of Great Britain and both have good vegan food and are much further north. Happy travels, your videos are fun.
I think Lands End and John O’Groats are the furthest apart being the most south westerly and north easterly points. Dunnets Head and Lizard Point are the furthest north and south
I love that the café didn't cater for vegans but had soya milk and served vegan vegetable soup without realising it! I've always loved soup and up there I bet they sell plenty of it. It does show that it's not that hard to have vegan options that have mass appeal. Love your adventures. I never realised that Dunnet Head was actually the most northerly point. I'm going to look up to see why we have all been conned into believing it's John O'Groats!
Yeah it's odd isn't it?! And the cafe response initially was like stepping back in time a few years haha! "We have a couple of gluten free options, but nothing for vegans"
I stayed at Dunnet head two weeks ago there is a small tarmac area just outside the official car park where you can park up for the night (it is on Park4night) 🙂
Ben Hope is near there recently climbed that with the kids the most northern Munro, I would suggest before you go more rural north west you stock up on vegan shopping you might struggle finding things , so have back up , x
Have just catched up with Scotland part of your journey to Scotland l stay in Scotland and your not wrong with the weather been really really cold HA HA.
Ah you passed my house, I wish I knew you was up here, i run a market garden just near that little cafe . And it pronounced brock with a spit at the end 😂
Also where you couldn’t get a shot of the puffins if you went back through the gate and followed the track to the right they often come sit near you on that cliff so come back 😂
John O'Groats is the most Northeasterly point of mainland UK. It is also the farthest point from Land's End. ☺️ That's why its the one most people talk about. Also Land's End is the most Southwesterly point, the most southern point in actually Lizard Point. ☺️ I plan to walk from LE to JoG next year, I have done a lot of research recently. Lol.
I found it quite funny how they didn't understand veganism in that little cafe. "I hope it doesn't make you ill or anything". I didn't really realise that there were still people who didn't know what veganism actually was.
I mean, in the end, they were lovely in that cafe. But at the start they weren't the best, but as you say, it was a lack of understanding what being vegan is. We had lots of conversations with them anyway and it will be different for the next two vegans who wander in there
We went to the exact cafe in Dunnet head. We’re from Peterborough and met a couple from two miles away from where we live there, crazy. We did the same thing and wanted to go to the most northerly point, so went to Dunnet head hahah, we parked up just outside the carpark for the night hahah! Did you go in May?
Great video, thanks. Do you think that fluffy cow looked like Liam, Janine? Loved the puffins! So stunning. I think you were very good with that cafe who didnt even know what vegan was, where have they been hiding?! Your lovely manner is the best advert for veganism. 😍😍
Those kind people made a good point about the expense of serving food no one would order. They would probably be open to learning a little more about vegan food. Not too much trouble to have a vegan soup. Unyeasted bread and a veggie cottage pie maybe.
Living the dream eh guys 👍 happy days as an owner of a self converted transit I know how’s yous feel nothing like being on the road av just had a week in Wales and in couple of weeks am off to the Isle of Mull for a week can’t wait can’t be away all the time unfortunately as work full time and have mortgage to pay and kids to feed but hey ho that’s life lol Stay safe See yous when the fog lifts 👍
We did cocoa mountain today as per your recommendation on the last video comments, the hot chocolate rocked!! And the vegan chocolate croissant! 🤤 we’re in Ardmair near Ullapool now, last leg of the journey!
It's fab isn't it, so glad you tried. And how lucky are you to sample a croissant!! We have been to two Cocoa Mountains now and both times sold out of them 😭
Great again. What's even better is seeing your subscriptions rising each week. 9000 and something a few weeks ago. Over 10.000 now. We are all wishing you every success. Keep it up
@@ThoseHappyDays aww shame, as youre in the northern quarter. u could pop by on your way down south, give me some pointers as i am currently converting a horsebox into a vegan catering trailer.

Absolutely loving the videos of your Scottish tour. Definitely on my bucket list to do too.

they use john o groats as the northerly point because of accesibility and ferry acess

It's a good question, some vegan food is heavily processed, while others aren't like fruit, veg, lentils etc
