No many how faults you find with this collection of actors who came together and gave us one of the best family sitcom's of all time, there is on thing that cannot be denied; the acting on this show was superb. The characters were believable, and they touched our hearts under the guise of comedy.
I was born in 1960 and The Brady Bunch was a part of my childhood. I was ableto see what a " normal" family was suppose to be like. Unlike my own dysfunctional family, this family became my fantasy life. My parents battled, most of the time it was on a daily basis. There was no peace in our household. Jan was my favorite ,i suppose its because she was a middle child ,just as i was. The 60s&70s had programs that were clean and wholesome, something todays programs are severely lacking in. Thanks for sharing this . 💗💜💙💛❤️💚Great memories.
While I never recall anything about adoption, from the first episode, all of the kids had the last name of Brady. It doesn't work that way in the real world, but it was really nice to get away from the real world, even as a kid at the time.
I don't care what anyone says the Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, One Day At A Time, The Jefferson's, Good Times, Threes Company, The Ropers, WKRP In Cincinnati, Gilligan's Island, Bewitched, Happy Days, The Six Million Dollar Man, The Bionic Women, Wonder Woman starring Lynda Carter, All In The Family, Lavern and Shirley, What's Happining, Hello Larry etc were the best. The shows now on television are just shit.
This show made me who I am today. I bought the DVD collection a few years ago. And shared it with my 2 sons @ the time, ages 12 & 14. All I can say is this....My oldest was a lot more respectful to me after watching. In fact, he's the one who LOVED it more than my younger son. Mind you, my oldest was the one who gave me some grief growing up. I think this show should be shown to ALL kids/teens. My sons are now 19 1/2 and 171/2. My oldest now realizes all the more that by me being a Mom, I was just doing my job. Those two boys of mine do NOT drink or do drugs. Now I'm not saying it's because of watching The Brady Bunch but....I do think they're better for watching it.

when i was a kid and lived in LA I thought I could just go to the studio and say I wanted to be on the Brady Bunch and they would hire me but my mom would never drive me! When I found out that Little House on the Prairie was shot in LA and not MN, I begged my mom to drive me to their studio so I could try on all the pioneer dresses and bonnets and get candy from the general store. Either little kids in general have no grip on reality or it was just me.
Because in the 70's, parents didn't neglect their kids for a 2-parent income like they do today. So she was busy being a mother to six kids, taking an interest in their lives and education etc. Again, unlike today, where they just let them get fucked up and give them a pill.
For one thing Alice is considered family by Mike. Another reason do you realize how hard it would be for one person to keep the house in order with six kids under one roof? That's why they kept Alice. She helps Carol around the house and they keep each other company.
Obviously Mrs. Partridge was a much better role. Just like Mark Hamill was the original David Bradford in "Eight is Enough," but he left to make Star Wars.
