Hello Felix I got an extreme Important question, If you just left an Frankie With it's Original Voltage Controller of which it's about 1.35 Volts for the 90nm rsx that alone wouldn't be the voltage mod for an 40nm Frankie??? And would allow us to Overclock till 950Mhz with the original Voltage Controller??
So the core voltage is determined by the syscon after it's read off the RSX efuses. The GPU's reccomended VID is baked into it. So if it's a 90 syscon will select one voltage. When we frankie it, syscon selects the proper core voltage for that GPU. However, if you manually change that byte in syscon eeprom, it will not change automatically. It'll stay at what you select.
@@ripfelix3020 so after all that means in Frankie's was never necessary to do the voltage mod for the 40nm as the Syscom detects automatically the model of the chip which is related to its lithography!!?
Don't confuse core voltage with VDDR. There are 6 voltages for the RSX. VDDR is a different voltage entirely and if that's not reduced from 1.2v on a 90nm motherboard to 1v for a 65nm RSX or 0.95v for a 40nm, it will burn out in a year. Confirmed.
@@ripfelix3020 Omg, I have no Ideia about that, Alright Understood Thank Dr.Felix, You Rock!!!! Also please bring more overclock videos, Maybe if you want try liquid cooling on RSX or liquid metal, all to help overclock it further, also if there's GPU on slims that are reported to go up to 950mhz with original voltage then just imagine what that GPUs can achieve in core clock if you increase the voltage to 1.35 Volts, so proportionally an GPU like that maybe would achieve 1.4Ghz Core.
Help me i install a overclock update and may console wont turn on i tryed recovery mode but gives a black screen i have webman mod instaled is that possible revert the update? Ps3 fat checha01
You can try safe mode and if that comes up, try installing a known good FW. However, if you don't get any video whatsoever, even if the console is cold, fans cranked, then it could be bricked and you'll need to use a hardware flasher to recover.
Makes me wonder if you were to undervolt a PS3 with YLOD would it fix it since many consoles are are YLOD due to bad noise? Food for thought, and may be worth testing to see if undervolting a YLOD would fix it.
Hey Feliz, wanted to return to this. Got my 2504B to 750/850 stable and super happy about it! And for anyone thinking to do this, take your time in testing the mhz properly and dont increment too much mhz before trying, nearly bricked mine because got too greedy and luckily got it back...
You need a Fat32 MBR formated USB flash drive. Folder structure = PS3/UPDATE/UPDAT.PUP Then plug it into the console and go to update, choose the option to update from storage. You need a compatible base firmware for it to work tho. So be sure you are fully jailbroken and trying to update to a CFW version that's compatible with your system.
Do you mean MFW builder's OC dropdown doesn't contain 700/900? I'm not sure if it does or not, I've been using a modified version of the list in which a whole bunch more combinations have been added. Since rrleasing the video, I found one that was incorrectly labeled and was actually default 500/650.
@@ripfelix3020 bro i did this but while instal cfw to my ps3 its off now it dosnt opening when ı press on button it turns green my fans start vut 3 second later my fan stoped and all liggt turn black
Sounds like a GLOD. Hard to make out what you're saying, but if you built the CFW corectly it shouldn't brick. If you didn't follow directions corectly tho, you can brick. That's why there are disclaimers. Try safe mode options.
You can't install custom firmware unless you can jailbreak. Hen just enables homebrew, but the LV1.self file is in the OS and has to be changed to enable the overclock.
Yes, you will just create the Ps3 keys for 491 then select the B9 CFW as the Original FW you want to modify. MFW Builder will then apply any OC combination you want from the options in the dropdown.
Well AFAIK there's nothing we can do about the SATA 1 limitations. CPU may still be possable, but we don't yet understand why it doesnt work on retail, or how it does on dev consoles. we can OC the CELL on a DECR1000A to 4.8GHz and it's extreemly unstable, but we can't figure out how the bytes select that frequency to choose less agressive timings. We've tried the same timings on retail and it causes a YLOD with CPU related error. So it did "something," but nothing good. I think there's hope there, tho.
Bro they like $40 bucks just got one from fb marketplace for $30 not tested no wires no controller got another one for $50 with 3 controllers and 10 games and another one off ebay for $150 it was a fat one with the sd card slot already jailbroken with 2 controllers and external drive with literally every game the crazy thing is he didnt even list the drive what a g tho lol
Did I say HFW somewhere? Not sure what you're asking, but if you're wondering why you can't use Homebrew Enabler HEN, it's because you can't change the values in lv1.self where the timings are. You need to be able to install custom firmware, which means full jailbreak.
dont overclock neither of the ps3, it overheats easy, maybe the super slim, but thats it, its really dangerous and we will see a wave of dead ps3 because of this.
Check the link in the description for the project RSX boost thread on the psx place forums. There are many people there that have uploads countless combinations. It's endless the requests we get for some new combination. So No, I'm not interested in doing that. It's why I made a tutorial to show people how to do it themselves.

@@ripfelix3020 alright Thank You So Much Felix 🙏
@@ripfelix3020 thanks i'll try this
Makes me wonder if you were to undervolt a PS3 with YLOD would it fix it since many consoles are are YLOD due to bad noise? Food for thought, and may be worth testing to see if undervolting a YLOD would fix it.
Mask it maybe. It's on my already too long to to list.
Stupid question, do you install this modified firmware to an already CFW-PS3 or can I install this directly to a 3.89 OFW?
You can install like any custom firmware, but need to be jailbroken 1st. So you can't OC 30xx models onward.
@@ripfelix3020Okay, many thanks!
Hey Feliz, wanted to return to this. Got my 2504B to 750/850 stable and super happy about it! And for anyone thinking to do this, take your time in testing the mhz properly and dont increment too much mhz before trying, nearly bricked mine because got too greedy and luckily got it back...
Where is the water cooling?
In a box collecting dust.
can you tell me how to install a firmware update on via storage its okay if it needs jailbroken mine already is
You need a Fat32 MBR formated USB flash drive. Folder structure = PS3/UPDATE/UPDAT.PUP
Then plug it into the console and go to update, choose the option to update from storage. You need a compatible base firmware for it to work tho. So be sure you are fully jailbroken and trying to update to a CFW version that's compatible with your system.
@@ripfelix3020 thx god bless you
@@ripfelix3020 I didn't work thx anyway I tried the overclock method that you install with the update
I just want to overclock my PS3 SLim enough where inFamous 1 and 2 play at 60fps or at least smoother than less then 30
Bro ı want to make 700-900 mhz but it isnt have in this app help me pls
I’m here with my 950/1000 PS3 brute forcing games. It’s insane the bump in FPS you get. It legit becomes a PS3 pro.
What's funny is that's how my friend described it. Like a "higher level of console."
@@ripfelix3020 yeah that was crazy🤣 and he was just a normal guy without the knowledge that hard core gamers have.
what model are you using??
@@Ribsllor 2501B
I got the 2501A, what temps are you getting and how’s the stability?
I'm not gonna touch my 65nm RSX of my Cechj for sure hahaha but this can be so OP if we discover how to change LV1 in super slims
Did you say can't be hen? I couldn't hear correctly when you were talking about jailbreak
You can't install custom firmware unless you can jailbreak. Hen just enables homebrew, but the LV1.self file is in the OS and has to be changed to enable the overclock.
İs there any way to oc hen wf
No. Requires changing hex values in lv1. Hen doesn't give you that low level of access.
does this work with evilnat 4.91.2 beta 9?
Yes, you will just create the Ps3 keys for 491 then select the B9 CFW as the Original FW you want to modify. MFW Builder will then apply any OC combination you want from the options in the dropdown.
@@ripfelix3020 thanks!
Got 2 2501A overclocked to 700/1000 - at 750 it glitches under Crysis' games and Deadpool
gains beyond that arent spactacular anyway. enjoy.
@@ripfelix3020 it's always nice to remove a bottleneck from the equation, now we are still stuck with CPU bottleneck and HDD IO bottleneck
Shame i owned the super slim. Nice tutorial tho
HFW?
Did I say HFW somewhere? Not sure what you're asking, but if you're wondering why you can't use Homebrew Enabler HEN, it's because you can't change the values in lv1.self where the timings are. You need to be able to install custom firmware, which means full jailbreak.
this is why you are dead Felix.
Overclocking a PS3 seems really interesting, but considering how strained these things already are it would be a tight overclock at best.
I was able to achieve about 37% performance boost in FPS. That's a larger increase than you generally see from PC OC'ing. It's pretty wild.
@@ripfelix3020Holy shit, 37%!? That’s beyond insane, nice work man
One more Upload and I will start to seizure
now Zombie MOd like a XOC Gpu
mr mario's tutorials are steaming trash
His video helped me with jailbreaking my console
dont overclock neither of the ps3, it overheats easy, maybe the super slim, but thats it, its really dangerous and we will see a wave of dead ps3 because of this.
I keep getting "Couldn't execute 'patchtool.exe'"
Run as admin
Can you give me those modified .pup’s? I can’t get MFW to work even following this.
Check the link in the description for the project RSX boost thread on the psx place forums. There are many people there that have uploads countless combinations. It's endless the requests we get for some new combination. So No, I'm not interested in doing that. It's why I made a tutorial to show people how to do it themselves.
@@ripfelix3020 ok, thanks man🙏🏾
