I tried an offensive flying scorpion for a goal already back in 1981/82 before that freak goalie made it known. I did it because it was the only way for me to reach the ball under the circumstances. My soles only brushed the ball and it went dead. Was scolded by my teammates (a guy behind me would've had a good chance for a header), and I never tried it again although I thought it was a good idea.

The difficult thing is actually not doing it itself, its about doing it in a match when you are playing in front of thousands of audience . And also doing it at that very moment, unlike you trying to do that specific skill

What helps zlatan scoring like this is that he actually doing some kind of fighting sport like taekwondo or soming which amazingly give his leg much more flixablity and accuraty

He did amazing for the short amount of time that he put into practicing it for this video and he did it with a ball in hand as well as completing a throw. When I was a kid playing football in street I was really bad and played for fun. One of the games went to penalty shout outs and the last kick was on me, If it's in, we win. So I kicked a desperate ball toward the center, the goalkeeper underestimated me so severely that he tried to save it by a scorpion kick. He did save it, the ball went up and then all the way down to the goal. We won, everyone cherished me ans it's still one of my finest childhood memories.
It's all instinct. If you played sport of any level you'd know those moments where everything is just right and set up for one specific skill, at which point all the player has to do is do the move. If you go out on a football pitch and say you'll score a scorpion, more often than not, you won't, no matter how hard your try it really comes down to what the situation calls for and professional players usually have the instincts and skill to carry these moves out
You're doing it without crowd or the heat of the moment. You had all the time in the world to perform this. But those legends did it with all the pressure. Makes me wonder how cool they godda be.. wow..

Exactly! The examples he gave in the video you can clearly see the ball doesn't leave their hand until their feet are on the ground. What he did is hard but not even as close as hard as the real ones.
It's very appreciable that you learned the handspring technique cuz for tall guys it's just very hard to pull off. Just not a recommend thing for guys over 5'8. Kudos for efforts!

The only thing which I’d like to add is that these original moves are being made in the moment and instinctively, because I think that they feel the ball already before they get it, and their brain sometimes realizes the move as the best possible solution for the given situation. They just do it because they fully feel the ball and the position of their bodies.That’s why it’s a bit hard to recreate some of these.
