My brother is learning how to speak Spanish, so he and my dad started talking to each other in Spanish around the house to help him out. Less than 2 days later, all of the commercials we got on Hulu (through our Roku) were in Spanish. We all got a laugh out of it, but it definitely creeped us out.
My girlfriend asked me why I carry a firearm in the house. I said “because you never know who could be in here”. She laughed, I laughed, Alexa laughed, I shot the Alexa. It was a good time

Call me paranoid, I paid cash for a prepaid card, used it to have a prepaid phone delivered to a mail drop using only a dummy email set up at the library, so that I can get online with out worrying about who's tracking my info.
I was at the range in February 2019 when my sister called me from another state, on my cell phone. I put my sidearm down and carried on with the conversation. A few minutes into the call, we were talking about home improvements. When she looked up some ideas for windows, she said, where are you?, I’m getting ad’s for ammunition. That’s when I felt I was being spied on.
Just for curiosity, were one or both Apple phones? I've had a deep seeded distrust for Apple products, and just trying to see if there is any correlation to product lines. If you do own them, I have no quarrel, I served so that we have the right to choose.
SInce you are into guns there is a chance that other family members have done searches for similar things. The point of these AI systems is to make things easier to operate. People are then assuming this means that they are listening to everything. There is simply not enough computational power on earth to analyse all that data with meaning. Some day there will be that computing power but not yet. The real key in all of this is not that they are listening but the power of AI.
On road trips, the kids and I play a game. We pick a product name like "Harley". We randomly slip it in to all our conversations. Then wait and see how long it takes to pop up on our phones.
I've had many recent experiences where topics I'm discussing in conversation suddenly appear in my UA-cam feed. It's pretty easy to see that something is listening to everything we say.
Its happened several times to me and my friends. We drive 80 miles one way to work and 80 back home. So needless to say we have alot of conversation, and I've lost count of all the times we have talked about wanting to buy something, then boom a ad will appear of Facebook or other forms of social media.
There are multiple times I have been talking aloud with someone and when I get back online I will see an advertisement for something like I was talking about. The most recent thing I noticed was I was discussing something and when I went to text it on my phone the predictive text had it ready to type out. There is no explanation other than the phone is listening to me.
You tube as well. I was just talking about the movie midnight run .... as soon as I went back on you tube a clip from very scene I was talking about was on my suggestions
@@mrniceshoes2118 that's crazy! It's nice that it does that for convenience, but if it is clearly listening to us then I'm sure there are other people listening in which is not convenient it's scary.

Note re trackers: "See the sky" means somewhere in/on the car where a signal can receive a signal from either cell phone towers OR at least one satellite. UNDER the car is not the best place, because of the shielding - being surrounded by signal absorbing metal above blocks signals, so the receiver is only occasionally picking up cell tower signals as it passes by them. It still works, but as mentioned in the video, as soon as you're out of range of cell towers, the ONLY way to be tracked is with satellites. Being UNDER a car means that only satellites near the horizon will be picked up. So . . . if someone has access to your car, they're going to prefer to put it under a seat, b/c there's less metal blocking a signal, and it goes right through the glass windows. Look THERE first, then under the car, in wheel wells or (unlikely) in the trunk or under the hood. It needs to "see the sky" only in the sense of getting a signal, whether nearby, even reflected or weak from a nearby antenna, not in the "line of sight" sense.

Thanks for this post. It's been decades since I had my clearance, and your conversation reminds me of some of the training and advice I was given. As the head of my tiny studio, I was the one who had to write the manual for employees to understand procedures for handling and securing any data we received or created. In the early 1980s I was invited to join an international group of film & video producers. At one of the annual conferences, the Finnish member was proposing we invite a Soviet production group to join. This naturally lead to a discussion of security, since a number of us had clearances, and not a few were still reserve officers with NATO or U.S. uniformed services. Knowing that any Soviet Group would have almost certainly had a few members either active Komityet Gosudarstvenny Byezoposnosti (KGB) or folks trained by them, those of us with active security clearance would have been required to submit comprehensive reports of any meetings /conferences we attended. Thankfully, the proposal was not accepted. So you can sorta understand why people who have never had to deal with Clearance or even Commercial Confidentiality agreements might have NO WAY to understand how Bill Clinton, a Rhodes Scholar attending Oxford University and showing up to London AntiWar Protests against U.S. war against Communist North Vietnam, would have been assigned a KGB-trained set of handlers by Inturist when he visited Moscow. During the Soviet Era, NO visitors from Western _democracies_ could travel solo in the USSR; they were assigned companions from the State Agency Inturist to accompany and guide them. Soviet citizens could be arrested simply for engaging in conversations with Westerners. It's easy to imagine that Wm. J. "Couldn't-keep-it-zipped" Clinton would have been very easily compromised, and may have left the KGB with juicy evidence they could later use against him.
I took the wife and son to DC. At Arlington National Cemetery I was last in the security line, the others passed through after dropping cell phones on conveyor. I was told several times to put my phone on belt and it wouldn’t hurt the phone, I told them I didn’t carry a cphone and was ordered to put it on the belt! I was pulled to the side by security and wanded and patted down. After establishing I hadn’t lied the HLS agent took a break and we had a Five min. Recently I was on a hunt in a remote cabin on Kodiak Alaska. While stuck in the cabin for a rainy day, we talked about a homesteader in Alaska, while my phone sat right beside me in airplane mode, after listening to a book. We talked in depth about how this homesteader, how he gave up his previous life to live this lonely life. Now fast forward 2 weeks, I come home and go to my youtube, and this guy we were just talking about is all over my recommended youtube list. I've never searched for this guy, or anything to do about building cabins or homesteading.....EVER.
I had spoken with a co-worker about long range shooting schools, the next day there were ads popping upon his phone for different long range shooting schools. Yes, I am and have been a firm believer in phones listening and watching everyone always.
Seen this multiple times when you’re having a private conversation with a friend or spouse and all of a sudden, you’re getting emails and UA-cam ads based off keywords from your conversation. Rule number one, the microphone is ALWAYS on.
Just had it happen again! Was at the mall and texting someone... I was thinking about going to Ghirardelli and as i typed G it automatically suggested that place! Weird, as my Wi-Fi and location was off, and there are numerous shops around! Spooky!!
I was walking home and I walk through this trail on my way home that goes kinda through the woods, I was talking with a friend who was walking with me about a specific coding book which I had never heard of in my life. My phone is neither signed into google nor amazon. I went home and when I sat at my computer (still the same day, maybe an hour later) which is also not signed into google or amazon (unless I manually sign in) and suddenly I am getting ads for the exact book that he was telling me about in what was basically the woods. It made me want to dig a hole in my backyard and live in it with one of those tin can phone contraptions being my only contact with the outside world. However, google would then probably just strap some tiny camera backpacks to worms to watch me with.
Myself and my better half had a discussion in the Jeep one night about going on a cruise next summer. As soon as we got home, both of our Instagram accounts were “conveniently” showing us ads for cruises. That was my “I told you so” moment to her.
I knew decades before the public that at least some landlines could be listened to even when they were hung up. Same for access to cells and cameras, basically anything with an electronic connection.
Over the weekend I was talking with several dudes about having to change the brakes on my vehicle. When I went to work on Monday hopped on the net and all of the ads were geared toward cars and brakes. Specifically my make and model.

Every time my friends or coworkers and I discuss something, that topic later will be recommended by UA-cam. One example from the laundry list of things that have shown up is tv shows or movies, I can ask someone “have you seen a specific movie” and later that movie trailer will be recommended by UA-cam.
I was having a conversation with my phone about how expensive dental procedures are even with insurance. Not even 1 day later, an add popped up on UA-cam for dental insurance.
Big Brother is definitely always listening... A few years ago my wife and I were eating at a local Subway and started talking about an upcoming trip to SC... Nothing special in our conversation, just the normal stuff about where we were staying, things to do, etc... She did use her phone to look up details about what we were discussing as well... She also called, using her phone of couse; to verify our reservation on the Middleton Plantation while we were there... After that information related to what we had talked about started showing up in a non-related search on "my" phone...! It was an eye opener for me even though I know it happens... It was the first time its happened to me or my wife...!
I was taking with a co-worker about David Ramsey's budgeting, while driving to a job site. The next time I opened my phone I had related vidoes on my UA-cam.

@@smprfly does it? It's not the main stream of cultural flow. That seems counter productive. Closing off your own growth potential. @@stewartstewartstewart you're completely wrong about that. Pretty much any smart device can be listening to us through AI software. And they pick up on key words and patterns we say. So guess what, if you're a gun nut like most people on this channel and the AI hears you saying guns, explode, powder, charged, etc, and then you start a new conversation with a cop or doctor/ nurse buddy of yours, now they can connect those firearm related terms to things like police station and hospital and bam, now you're on a list somewhere, and ATF or FBI could be at your door in no time. We're always being listened and watched. You best believe that. This has been going on since the 60s.
Since you asked for examples...... In explaining that the phones are *always* listening I was challenged that they are not unless you use key phrases like "Alexa", "Hey Siri", "OK Google", etc. My argument was that the phone only knows you said those phrases if it listens to everything then performs analysis on the phrase to determine if it should respond or not. Additionally, the we performed a test to prove not only that the phones listened but that the data retrieved is used outside the phone. To do this we left all technology indoors and went outside to discuss a topic we have never and would never discuss in our daily lives. As we are corporate IT workers, we chose "Animal husbandry". Something neither of us had ever discussed, mentioned or performed internet searches for. Over the next few days we began discussing "Animal Husbandry" using that keyword as often as possible. We used phrases like "What is animal husbandry?", "How do you get started in animal husbandry?", etc. After two days of this casual discussion we both started to receive targeted advertisements in amazon and google for "cattle insemination kits" as well as literature for animal husbandry. That pretty much settled the argument on "are the phones always listening".
Your phones are definitely listening. My wife and I were in the process of putting our house up for sale and talking about possibly renting it out if it didn’t sell in the timeframe we were hoping for. We got into the discussion of possibly getting a property management company to take care of collecting rent, repairs, and gardening since we planned on moving several hours away. This is not a common conversation for every day use. A day later, I began getting ads for property management companies on my phone news feeds and UA-cam videos. I never searched on line for a property management company, we had only talked about our options if we had to. Beware of what you say near your phone or pretty much any “smart home” product. They are listening.
I've had some close acquisition and targeting reconnaissance training while in the Army. I was very surprised where, and in what, you can hide cameras, microphones and tracking devices. I put a fully functioning camera/mic in a toaster that still functioned as a toaster, but the device was protected from the heat. I also put a audio recorder in a small alarm clock. I need to start checking the hotels I stay in, as a travel at least once a month for reasons.
2019 and they didn't even get into Smart TV's tracking us. Smart TV's have been found to have hidden cameras and microphones embedded in them. There is also technology that takes advantage of your own wifi router to track you in your own home and know how many people are in your home and their exact location with in your home. From what I have read on the topic; the technology uses the wifi radio signals your router is bouncing around the house to detect you. Not exactly sure which devices are doing the tracking after that, though. Could be a smart TV, Siri or Alexa or other box you unwittingly brought in to your own home. It'd actually be nice for the home owner to have direct access to this technology for home defense / personal defense. Say you come home from work or a night out, and your front door is wide open and looks to have been forced open. Whip out your phone and check the home for active intruders, as a precursor to doing a room clearing search, that sort of thing would be real handy. But not so much for Google-Fakebook, China, FBI, NSA, DEA, DHS or local police to use on you in your own home.

Social engineering.. mind control, if you control the media and internet, you can control the way people think. better technology is making this more efficient in being directed at specific people / groups of people. It’s a technology based version of inception, people don’t even realize that the thoughts they have are influenced by their interaction with media that is becoming more and more targeted

The point of these AI systems is to make things easier to operate. People are then assuming this means that they are listening to everything.
There is simply not enough computational power on earth to analyse all that data with meaning. Some day there will be that computing power but not yet.
The real key in all of this is not that they are listening but the power of AI.

I've had some close acquisition and targeting reconnaissance training while in the Army. I was very surprised where, and in what, you can hide cameras, microphones and tracking devices. I bet there was a lot of emi when the toaster was heating.

Rick and Morty whisper, “sportsman’s guide”
John is one of the few dudes on youtube that cracks me up every video. Best writers for your commercials!!!
Hit me up with where to send the free t-shirt brotha!
Couldnt find the link for signaling blocking sleeve. Can you help me out John?
50 Stitches Steel use yippy. Com and search for one. There are plenty. It works on the concept of a faraday cage. Its basically the electrical equivalent to a plastic bag keeping stuff dry as you dunk it in water. Heavy duty aluminum foil will work
Actually just look for Faraday cages they make bags and small bags for phones etc.. it will work great.

@@randomtvninja That's actually what I'm doing right this minute lol..I have a ton of ammo cans to use at home but I found a few sleeves for travel too..Thanks guys
If you buy coffee in bulk it comes in a mylar bag you could use that
I was talking about purchasing a distillation kit, of all things. And ads started popping up on my social media and shopping platforms. No joke was weird as hell! I’m in Canada so it is everywhere! Now 5G everywhere! But like everything it will some how fly over everyone’s radars!
Great show! Be good!

I took a picture of my baseboard and never mentioned lowes or anything that I was going to a store and when I cranked my Truck my phone said my destination time to Lowes is 15 minutes and I was actually going there but nobody new I was.
On a Monday night, the wife and I were discussing purchasing a truck. We ticked off all the bells and whistles that we needed on the truck to be able to tow a trailer.
Tuesday morning at work, my phone notifies me with a picture of a truck. I tapped the image and LO AND BEHOLD, there was THE truck we were talking about, and even within the price range we had discussed. We bought the truck the same day. For those interested, we bought a Chevy Colorado crew cab. I LOVE this truck. So there ya go. Technology is ALWAYS listening.
"cell" phone>prison "cell" im old enough to remember before mobile phones back when we all remembered 50+ peoples phone numbers. "smart" phones make us dumb er (sometimes)
Before Gutenberg invented the printing press, most people had amazing memory capacity.
never thought about it that way. but i guess the printing press was the smart phone of its day
Back in the day they offered free shipping on purchases over a certain amount. When they stopped allowing ammo to be shipped for free and I stopped using sportsmans guide. If they ever bring that back I would consider checking them out again.
So funny you mention the “Always listening” and advert thing, just had this happen in such a specific way. A buddy called me to borrow my HVLP Wagner paint sprayer for some work, I told him it was already lent out to another friend but it would be back next week. He needed one sooner than that, I suggested that he go on Amazon and use the prime delivery and have it the next day (some advantages to living in Tokyo!).
Now my advert feed on Google Chrome is chock full of Wagner HVLP paint sprayer adverts.
Yep they are always listening...... even here in Japan!
Cheers
Especially Japan
Big brother incident, Went camping/ shooting and for two weeks i received anti gun ads on UA-cam including campaign ads for Bloomberg and likes it felt real eerie how overwhelmed the ads were
I watched a DVD movie, pulp fiction. Next day on my UA-cam feed pops up "5 things you didn't know about pulp fiction" . I always turn Siri off every time I get a new iPhone too
I was parked in my vehicle in Denver CO, a couple of years ago. A prarie dog came out of his burrow near me and began to wander around finding stuff to nibble on. As he did, I was photographing him with my phone camera. Later I was looking at the pictures, and it crossed my mind, that if you ran these pictures together real fast, it would look like a videotape recording. A week or so later, I get an email from Google , saying look James, at what you made! They had joined the pictures together to make a short film. Obviously, they are going through your personal photos very throughly.
I was telling my daughter how much I like my cellphone which is several years old and wasn't planning to get a new one anytime soon. The next day my battery life was cut in half. I'm still using the phone but the battery sucks.
AI is like a finicky ,high maintenance girlfriend. They get mad when you don't spend on them. Thus, your battery dilemma.
I love this real channel!! Thank God for this channel
Remember when this channel was called John Lovell ?
I think I do... but that was years ago.
When I first started watching
I remember as well.

Former sf operator here; your phone is NOT your friend. Change and adapt or you're screwed. Tricks that work...learn to shield your comms when you aren't feeling your surroundings. The reason you can't remove your cell batt is that your device is always on and listening. If you have a service that has no removable sim card then ditch it because you can't maintain your own comms.
I just tested this and said in a very low voice “was there a movie called “a history of violence” I then opened safari and typed “ a his” and it brought up the movie
I literally just read your comment, opened a new Tab on Chrome and typed ''A his'' and it autocompleted to ''A history of violence''
Trying to figure out what to eat for dinner one day, my brother said "Pizza sounds good" as I was scrolling through a forum. Immediately after I get a pizza hut ad on the side, and 15 minutes after, I get a notification from the pizza hut app.
3:20 "Surveillance that you don't want or need..."
Didn't Clint just say in his first interview with John that surveillance doesn't bother him because he's "got nothing to hide"?
I ordered the book on my tablet because of these videos! Thank you for informing me!
