- Nearly 60% of Norway is uninhabitable. This is due to a number of factors, including the cold climate, the mountainous terrain, and the scarcity of arable land. Almost 90% of the land is covered by mountains, which makes it difficult to build roads and other infrastructure. On top of that, only about 3% of Norway's land is arable. This means that there is very little land that is suitable for growing crops. Despite these challenges, Norway is home to over 5.4 million people and has one of the strongest economies in Europe.
Remember it isn't oil that made Norway successful. There are many countries around the world that has an abundance of natural resources, but that isn't as successful as Norway.
It is how Norway decided to use these resources to boost other industries, and more importantly, provide good education, healthcare and safety for its population. Norway has become the capital of innovation, science and technology, that even when it decides to end oil and gas production will have other industries that will be just as profitable. A well educated population is the most valuable resource a country can have, with it they can achieve anything.
that's a good point. Norway has really excelled in a lot of areas you mentioned
Small population helps. When there’s significantly more resources than people.
Yeah. Norway were rich long time before the oil.
Norway is not uninhabitable, you can live off the land, even in the northern most regions by being resourceful and good planing throughout the year. Plants like potato, carrot, mushroom, jordskokk and more grow well there, and you can get lots of berries from the forrests or vidde (terrain consisting mostly of small berry bushes). You can get fish from the sea. Sheep, goats and reindeer can graze on land unsuitable for produce.
And we even grow some types of grain
The tree line is about TREES. There can still be any other form of vegetation above the tree line, and there almost always is.
You Labeled Sweden as Finland
Yes i noticed it after the video got published 😜
After the Black Death we Norwegians lost any type of significance for 600 years, we were dominated by our neighbors, the people lived an incredibly harsh life that effected deeply society (you can see it still in our social norms) we were probably the poorest country in Europe. Then we wanted independence even knowing we were poor and that Sweden would have crushed us, seamed like the typical chapter in Norwegian history, then something like a miracle happens! The Swedish people forced their parliament to give us freedom, we democratically voted a danish prince to become our king (he’s a descendent of the danish king Christian Frederick who fought in 1814 and lost to the Swedes for Norwegian independence, the last war Sweden ever fought), we were still poor but free, and we went all in on democracy, fairness and social liberty. Then we found the oil reservoirs, decided that the revenues would go into the pocked of every single Norwegian (look up the largest sovereign wealth found in the world) and today here we are: children march on our national day not the army, corruption is non existent and unacceptable in any form, we love to be in our hash weather and are way more sociable in the forests than on the bus. I’m proud to be Norwegian and our history prove what a united, fair and resilient nation can become.
When we look at the place i live Geilo and compare it to the map i live in
Der ingen skulle tru at nokon kunne bu
I love how hardcore us locals and even the city folks that is traveling to a uninhabitable place to have holiday. Us norwegians is crazy
Der er ikke dårlig vær bare dårlig klare

Neither Viken nor Vestland is in the South. Viken is in the east, and Vestland is in, as the name might have hinted at, the west.
Aren't both in southeast and southwest ?
@@thestoriesacross
No. It's just west and east. It's more than just geography, there's a whole host of history, language, cultural, and economic differences between the regions.
Both viken and Vestland ARE in the South they're in the division of Norway called "Sør-norge" or Southern Norway which is everything that is South of "Nord-Norge" or northern Norway.
@@thestoriesacross yes
No.
Holy shit, stop writing stupid shit like this.
There's 5 distinct parts of the country, of which the north is one. I get that it's friday and you're going out drinking so you decided to have a little troll, but holy shit dude. Stop.

Shaman Durex a bisexual Shaman is the next king of Norway.
😂 He has no right to the throne. Neither do Märtha. It’s Haakon Magnus and his children who are the next in line.
