Others won’t know how to make this sound & style (and many other technical singing styles) if not sang or done by Regine. Other singers that followed were just merely copying her or were just inspired by her versions. That’s being a true blue “ARTIST”! That’s what separates Regine from others. Sya ang nagpapasikat. But im very happy when i hear katrina few years back kasi im happy someone will continue Regine’s legacy in this generation. She will always be unparalleled. There will be other singers who can be so close to her singing technique and hitting of stratospheric notes but no one will be as beautiful and effortlessly emotional physically and vocally. She both has the charm and charisma. Also, she's very creative and inventive unlike any other artists today which is the reason why she perfectly executed the great transition from 80's, 90's, 00's, 10', and up to date. No one ever did but Regine.
Katrina and Morrisette are really good, but as long as they don't have their own songs, they will be just a mere excellent cover singers. Look at what happened to Charice? She was really good, but she only have few songs aside from the fact she revealed her true gender preference.
To be a mutant singer, you have to be relevant in the business and that is to have your own songs. That is what our current singers are lacking.

I have listened to numerous recordings of all 5 on CD, because the completely different audio quality of the recordings on UA-cam does not allow a fair comparison. Barbra and Whitney play vocally in a different league than Celine and Mariah. Regine would have long been recognized worldwide as belonging to the circle of Barbra and Whitney, if not so many clips of Regine would exist in poor recording quality on UA-cam. The decision of Regine to stay in the Philippines and refuse the offers in particular from the US was a gain for the Philippines. And a loss for the rest of the world. At least the amount of recordings from Regine offered by the world's largest provider of audio files in high resolution format has more than doubled in the last 4 years.

This woman is the gold standard of singing in the Philippines. Regine set the bar so high and she is the reason why Filipinos are not easily impressed by singers from other countries. Her style and influence has given birth to a lot of very good technical Filipino singers. Those singers are now trying their best to be at par with her but she's so far in a league of her own - unsurmountable and so unsurpassable.
