I lost my father to suicide infront of me the other day and i used to play covers of hippo camp with him on bass and would force hun to listen to the band and this song just means a lot to me

these guys got me through cancer treatment and then I went on a three year depressive episode after my dad died, and just couldn’t listen to their music without hurting so deeply. This is the first time I’ve been able to listen to hippo campus since that day and it’s like I’ve found what was missing.

this song is so filled with exhausted emotion, so much nostalgic imagery. reminds me of the feeling i got when i was walking home from a party in college. that half tired, half happy, entirely drunk kind of mood that leads to reflection
