They're just now figuring out how ambitious this project is? Still got my pre order w/ NewEgg. They need to hook up the customers who've hung in this long!
Sounds good so far. I'm not normally into clone console as I still prefer the originals but this one intrigues me. What I'm concerned about is that Light guns won't work on LCD tv's so games like Duck Hunt can't be played.
Please announce a version of Retron 5 with N64 compatibility and I'll give you my money Hyperkin. Everyone's asked for it when it comes to Retron 5. If it gets N64 compatibility then it'll be the complete Retro game cartridge system
That70sGamer1 Hyperkin's been teasing an n64 announcement for e3, www.nintendolife.com/news/2014/03/nintendo_64_support_teased_for_a_future_hyperkin_retron_console
I was so distracted the entire video by how bad the guy in the back was at sonic 2. I'm still one the fence one getting a retron when it comes out mostly because I don't really have a need for one because I have every console it can do set up.
John, I haven't played Sonic 2 in maybe 10-12 years. It's not like I got stuck or couldn't pass a level in the interview time either. I was mostly messing around. I was also not using the controller I originally played it with (although that wasn't a bad thing). In other words, cut me some slack. :)
The Retron X86 has nothing to do with the Retron 5. It's a console that runs games for old "family computers" like the Commodore 64, the Amiga, the Vic 20, etc. Pretty pointless for me, but there must be some people who will want it.
As long as it gets here before the summer time I will be ok ... I know the delays are killing people but hopefully it will be something epic when it arrives.
I'm just going to assume it's summer and pick up a Super Retro Trio now. It'll at least make a good backup should I get a bum Retron5 when/if it finally comes out.
Oh I plan to get a Retron5 later in the year, should reviews be favorable when it's out in the wild. However, given the price of these systems, it's not like it's a bad thing to have a backup system.
Dustin got the chance to interview Justin from Hyperkin about the Retron 5 and the new Retron X86
Yes! Can't wait. Already got mine preordered.
Great interview!
Can't wait for this to get to me. It is going to be awesome to have one system for such an expansive library of games.

captain fanny-pack in the background looks pissed to be there :P
what about virtual racing on the sega genesis ? Will that work ?

i'm sure there will be work around eventualky
Can this play Homebrew games such as Battle Kid?

The N64 patent hasn't expired yet

He dies right at the end lol
What's the Retron X86? I'm wanting a Retron 5 but if they is something better coming i'd rather get that.

Eddie Thx for the reply.
OMG.. too distracted by Sonic The Hedgehog 2. +1
So it went from "april" to "30 days" eh? Yep, it's going to be May. Probably June.

Yuko Asho Retro Trio looks like shit compared to this. I'm happy to wait for something like the Retron 5 which looks like the ultimate retro machine.

If this does what I think it will and what they are saying it can do ... it will officially be my favorite console of this generation.
for a nice x86 machine id pay 200$
Just me or does Sonic 2 seem to stutter a few times?
i think it seems to suffer from a terrible player.
***** Whoa, I'm not that bad. Pretty good for someone who hasn't played in more than a decade, on a new console, with a new controller.
TerenceJames87 dude you are horrible! No offence haha
Andy Hug Well, okay, I'm guessing you do speedruns of Sonic 2 every day to perform at talent shows. ;)
No offense taken, btw. I wasn't really trying. Also, to answer your question, Sonic 2 doesn't stutter.
