22:44 The 3rd actor whom you'd recognized from "Inception" is Cillian Murphy. The character he plays in this movie is Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow. Oh, BTW, his first name is pronounced "Killian"
10:04 "I Know This Guy From 'The Patriot' " The actor's name is Tom Wilkinson. A couple of other movies that he's been in that are pretty good: Valkyrie, which is based on a true story The Full Monty The Green Hornet
This version of Batman was written to be more realistic. The question director Christopher Nolan asked was "What would Batman be like if he existed in the real world?" And I think they came up with a very close-to-reality version of the character. With technology that was available at the time, they had to research prototype military weapons, including the wingsuits that become rigid with an electric current, grappling wires built into a belt buckle, and kevlar body suits.
Alfred is one of the best parts of a lot of Batman stories. He's a beast in some of the comics and cartoons, too! He's gone toe-to-toe with some of Batman's villains and (from all the times I've seen) won!
- Released in 2005; directed by Christopher Nolan; screenplay by Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer. - Batman Begins was nominated for one Oscar, Best Cinematography. It didn't win its category. - Expectations were low for Batman Begins, after the disastrous effort of Batman and Robin (directed by Joel Schumacher, who also did A Time to Kill). But Nolan's darker take and sense of direction definitely helped revitalize Batman. It made Nolan a high-profile director and clinched Christian Bale's leading man status. - Many directors use a "second unit" crew, which usually does smaller bits simultaneously. Christopher Nolan didn't actually use any second unit for Batman Begins. - Christopher Nolan used 1982's "Blade Runner" as inspiration for the aesthetic. - While most critics enjoyed the film, one of the few things that was constantly criticized was Katie Holmes' performance as Rachel. The part would be re-cast with Maggie Gyllenhaal for "The Dark Knight." - Many film directors used Batman Begins as inspiration for their movies, including Iron Man, X-Men, Joker, The Incredible Hulk, and the James Bond film Skyfall.
As others have probably informed you already, all the actors that pointed out that were in Inception, that is because Inception was also directed by Christopher Nolan, and he like to use the same actors in many of his films. (This "Dark Knight" trilogy is also referred to as the Nolan Batman trilogy).
Yes!! Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy this month and MCU next….lets go!!! Love the channel, keep’um coming James! The car used in this trilogy was first shown at a showed called Magic in Las Vegas when I was in high school. We were not allowed to take any photos at the time.
So Inception, The Prestige, and this Batman trilogy were all directed by Christopher Nolan. He likes to reuse his actors. Which is impressive that the characters are all so different that it doesn’t take away from the movie.
I can't wait until you review The Black Knight and get a gander of Heath Ledger's Joker. It was good that Ledger had a hard time letting go of in real life and made his castmates gasp.
James, have you seen the 1978 "Superman" (aka "Superman The Movie")? I think that movie is a better representation of the character than "Man of Steel."
