I often read the install instruction of addons and then one sees the requirements as in other addons/requirements (much like Linux's dependencies when adding an app/program), and then scouring the web for these libraries, only to find in some cases an old version. With the increasing prices of aircraft on P3D from companies like Flightsimlabs and PMDG (don't get me wrong great aircraft but fed up of the pay extra for the P3D but get the same product thing), I have decided to dust off my old copy of Xplane 10 and finally get wrong to learning how to set it up, with a view to getting Xplane 11 if I get on. Your video's have been invaluable in this effort and I am beginning to see how Xplane can be better then FSX/P3D. Just wish there was as much payware development as in FSX/P3D.
I'm wondering, hasn't anyone made a package installer yet for x-plane in all these years? It would be so nice to just select the addon you want to install, and the installer would fetch the third party addons needed and install/update if needed. :)

Glad you found it useful ;-) For weather and winds - if you're not interested in looks but sorely weather, winds & turbulence then there's FS Global Real Weather (40 Euros) or NOAA (free). I use XEnviro which is both a clouds engine and weather engine that uses it's own server which imo works really well.
Good video. Can you recommend libraries/addon to enhance the look in Denmark? I have added OrthoX on Denmark and that is nice. But I would like landmarks etc also. I remember on FSX there where addon that added things like Dybbøl Mølle etc (which is nice as I live in Sønderborg and often like to fly out of the airport in my sim). I also know that Vidan made Sønderborg airport is there something like this for X-plane? I like X-plane 11 alot and have decided to move all my none military flying (which I do in DCS World) to XP.
Thomas I know you have made a video showing the higherarcy , but the question I have is example where does the US flag folder go ?or the people folder go? do they get added to the custom senery folder? or just down load them and let them be placed where the folder directs them? I know this is basic stuff sorry.....
Hi Dirk, The US flags is an object folder, so I paste it to the "custom scenery" folder and rename it to "o Flags_USA_States", but for that matter it can be named anything - including the name it comes with =) Thanks for watching!

I had downloaded X plane 11 and graphics looks yak! It's not my system problem but the scenery packs.... After seeing this video I downloaded as much as possible now bit a better but still looks yak! What to do?

hi i Really like your video, how ever you never say nothing on how and where exactly how to install , if you did say it i did not hear it, many videos on youtube not yours say get the files to make better graphics etc.... but never say how to or where to put the files exactly! theres alot of Plugins in x-plane..... in main directory and theres alot in Aircraft....Resources....etc.hope you could help me clarified this me thanks lol and one last question about the rudder that you showed awhile ago ,it look like it is fully Metal ,is it for a fighter jet only or i could use it for a 737-800.... Cessena etc... is yes it seems that it has only right anf left rudder and no brakes just asking and thanks for your video :) hope you understand My speelling lol
To he honest, the library objects need to be included with the sceneries. It is not fair we have to add custom library objects with another link, rather than all one scenery addition. Quite annoying.
Can you explain what you mean. My understanding is that the libraries are stored into one directory. You seem to saying something different. Details please.
G P having to install another library of objects is annoying, since the creators of the scenery could include the objects used in their sceneries. Having to install another folder is annoying and takes time.
Don't kill the messenger! :-) The thing is, scenery developers are not allowed to directly include 3d objects created by others in their own scenery package, but rather just make use of the original authors library! Sure, it would be easier for the end user if it wasn't like that, but if you think a little more about it, well then it wouldn't be fair to distribute the works of others in your own package. A good advice would be to take the time it takes to download and install all libraries shown in the video and not think more about it ;-) Thanks for watching
In the few times I installed libraries, I put them the libraries sub-folders in the same folder, per instructions. I did not know they needed to be downloaded into other locations in the sim file structure. Or, am I characterizing incorrectly. All in all, this is simpler than it is with FSX.
G P the libraries need to be installed in their separate folders (NOT in one large folder which will result in the libraries not working)! Please, checkout my scenery installation video I made a week or two ago ;-)
