      Thanks, Geoff! Yeah, it was fun! We may have to try trolling the magnet. Vertical magnet fishing while the Walleye Whisperer is jigging might be a bad combo. He wanted to take it on the boat, but we haven't yet.

      Hi Sue! They love it, especially my little man. Several of the spoons were in really good shape. Just need to replace the hooks and give them a clean up, and we will be good to go! Possibly saving someone from stepping on sharps , especially since this was near the dock/boat launch area.

      @DCOutdoors  26 днів тому

      Hey Alan, I was pretty impressed with all the fishing tackle that the boy caught. We have to clean up all the lures and replace the hooks but most of them are very much useable. I think the Allen key was down there a bit, the angles on it look fairly worn down. Either way, it's some trash out of the lake. Still hoping for a treasure chest of gold or a safe filled with money..... appreciate you watching our weekly adventures.

      Hi Larry, thanks for tuning in. Most of the spoons just need a fresh hook and a good clean and they'll be good to go. The average spoon here is probably $5 so he has some good value there. I'm still optimistic for a safe filled with money or a treasure chest of gold....

    I'm laughing in the inside right now as someone I know bought a similar kit and went out on a boat to get out to some deeper water...threw the magnet out and didn't it just keep on going and the end of the rope followed! LOL I can hear him cracking up as I type this...he learned the hard way with the second one to put a loop in the end of the rope and put it around his ankle. I've watched some pretty amazing things being pulled out of bodies of water! Have some great fun out there young man!

    • @DCOutdoors
      @DCOutdoors  29 днів тому +1

      Hi Bruce, that's too funny. I've been tying off to something on land (dock tie down or hand rails) or worse case to me, so that doesn't happen. That'd be disappointing, lol.
      I kind of worry he will get the magnet stuck to something like metal from a bridge or a culvert, and We won't be able to recover the stuck on magnet.
      Little man loves it. He watches quite a few magnet fishing guys on UA-cam, so he has some high hopes!
      The video has been well received so I'm sure we will share more.

    Awesome guys! Sending love from the UK here. Really wholesome to see you guys together doing stuff. I purchased a £50 magnet from amazon last week and used it for the first time two days ago. Caught a whole bunch of nothing except a bike spring and little magnetic rocks like you guys haha. I think bridges are absolutely the places to go to catch cool things. Otherwise you risk dragging something magnetic against rocks and sand and you lose it :( mine is quite powerful but i feel i lose a lot! ❤

    • @DCOutdoors
      @DCOutdoors  29 днів тому

      Hi Bayley, Thanks for the comment. It was nice to meet you.
      I love taking my kids outdoors to do things outside. So if you like that, I hope you subscribe. Good point about losing things. You might be right. My son said, "I feel the click" a lot lol, then most of the time, got nothing. The lake is also very weedy, so I imagine dragging in you could lose stuff on the weeds too.
      Hope you have a good day - see you around!

      We found most of our stuff so far right at the public boat launch. It's got a lot of traffic from people fishing off the dock there and they get their lures snagged up in weeds. I hope my son and I can try some urban locations next! The first spot we were at in the video was at a bridge/creek where we fished earlier this season for Walleye. It's not that great of a magnet fishing location. I think we're more likely to find interesting things here in the city. More to come!

    • @DCOutdoors
      @DCOutdoors  29 днів тому +1

      Absolutely! The first spot was a bridge. It's actually the same channel/bridge we caught most of our early season walleye from. The problem is that it's shallow and super weedy now. We got nothing there.
      The provincial park docks /boat launches are good because there's lots of people activity and higher chance of stuff falling in.
      We have a few bigger bridge locations on the river that we might try too.

      It's true! The hooks were not a surprise, but the key fob sure was. Whoever lost that probably had a bad day... 😆

      Right? There were lots of spoons around the boat launch, and many were in decent shape. They might need a new hook and a good clean-up and they're good to go. Yes, a phone or something would be cool. The key fob was pretty interesting. Thanks for watching and being a great supporter and friend. I appreciate you, Tom.
