Nothing better than those seventies Marquis Broughams!!! You got a good one with the best wheel covers & the twin comfort lounge seats!!! Good job 👍👍
Steve McGarrett would definitely approve of this beauty!!!

I had a 94 cadillac fleetwood brougham as my first car. Paid cash when i was 21 in 2015. Those old cars had amazing personality, unique styling, power, and not to mention that heartwarming sound every time you’d turn over that cast iron v8. I miss that car but love so much to see old cars from the past preserved so well like this. 👍🏼

92 was the last year of the square body broughams. I would’ve liked to have gotten my hands on one of those, especially with d’elegance pincushion leather seats. Always loved all the chrome around the interior door handles for that generation. But loved by bubblebody 94 nonetheless!

My Grand Marquis has the Precision Trac rear suspension. I absolutely love it. It’s a joy to drive.
I usually drive it during the summer when the AC compressor on my hybrid kills my MPG.

I love these cars, so elegant. Hard to imagine that the much loved 460 cu in of this era only put out 195hp in these cars. These engines should easily put out power far in excess of 300 hp. The huge displacement is making you pay in poor gas mileage for performance you never get.

My Dad passed down a 74 Marquis Broughm and a 69 Mark III. They both had very low miles. I added about 10,000 to each and gave them to my two oldest. Both are still under 50,000 miles. Still look showroom new...I still have 82 Lincoln Continental with less than 38,000 that will go to my youngest one day. Still a daily driver...great cars!

I grew up in a 73 Marquis Brougham much like this one, Family Truckster green with a white vinyl top. I have very fond memories of that car. It still exists, put out to pasture on my dad's grandparents farm. I actually like the four door versions of this era Marquis more than the two door that I know you have a few examples of. To me, it is the epitome of a 70s family car. My dad always said it was one of the best cars he ever owned. One of the very few he bought brand new for a growing family.

I drove many miles in my friend's '74 Marquis Brougham. His was a pillared hardtop which was equipped almost exactly the same as the featured car except his had a regular clock instead of the digital one.
I remember the brown brocade fabric being sort of rough feeling. I'm not sure if this was due to age (the car was only a few years old then) or perhaps because it had been treated with a dealer applied fabric protector. Maybe it just came that way from the factory. The interior was almost overwhelmingly tobacco brown.
The car left us stranded on at least 3 separate occasions. It would chew up starter motors and may have had a ring gear problem. The car also had a sluggishness before its transmission reached 3rd gear which was eventually found to be caused by a vacuum hose leak.
I still remember the look of the car's front end when just the parking lights were turned on while my friend waited for me at the curb.
My friend later had a '78 Town Car. The Lincoln's light beige velour interior was really plush by comparison, but the Marquis interior was still quite nice for the time.

Boy another beautiful Mercury. You certainly are lucky to find all these wonderful luxury cars. The interiors on these I think rivaled Lincoln and Cadillac cloth. Oh, and there is nothing like the door closing sound of these FoMoCo products, from about '63 on up through the '80s. Such a crisp and solid sound. Thanks Adam for yet another great one.

We had a 1969 LTD with a 390 and it was a great car. We received it as a Wedding Gift in 1980 and it was a really great car, great ride, power , brakes, handling and the mileage was surprisingly good, especially on a trip. It would roast the rear tires. My cousin had replaced the carb with a 600 cfm Holley and it had 2.25 dual exhaust with long quiet Ford mufflers and resonators. The Holley was an alternate reality. The engine rpm would rise quickly and the C6 so smooth that you would bury the speedometer amazingly quickly with the sense of urgency most engines would show. I would love it if you found a mint 1969 with the FE C6. I had owned them through the years and not one a diss appointment. I have a 1965 LTD that we have built into a bracket race car. Wonderful car in all ways.

Amazing car. Absolutely beautiful. Beautiful Interior. Engine compartment looks brand new. Do your neighbors ever gossip amongst themselves and say "Why does Adam keep unloading "Gangster Cars" in the middle of the night?"
I learned to drive in a 1965 Cadillac Fleetwood Sixty-Special White Solid Top with a Blue Cloth Interior in 1974 on the backroads of my Mom's home town of Bird City, Kansas. Dad bought it used (2 years old) in Riverside, California after he made sure it would fit in our garage. It was 19 feet long and 6' 8"" wide and had a 133" wheelbase. Very low milage. My Dad always had an eye for good deals. The only drawback was 1973 when we lived in the Washington DC suburbs during the OPEC gasoline crisis. Most stations would only sell 10 gallons. This car had a 26 gallon tank. We got by. Dad road the bus to work at the "Puzzle Palace". Subway was being built. I road the bus to school...during the early years of forced desegregation busing of inner city DC students to my school in the suburbs. As a kid, I traveled all over the US in the backseat of that car. After I turned 16 and learned to drive, I learned a few other things in that giant backseat.
    Great Memories.
I love these Cars. Thanks for preserving them.

It’s interesting that so many nice old cars come from, like this one, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, etc….harsh winter salty road rust belt states. Loving owners squirreled these cars away to protect them. As a kid growing up in Michigan we coveted southern cars-no rust. Now 40 years later living in Texas all car guys here find tired, dried out, sun bleached originals that need complete restoration even if they were garage kept.

Dad was a Chevy man until '75 when mom was adamant that she did not want a Caprice Estate but a Ford Country Squire. He came to like it so much so that when the local Ford dealer told him that '78 would be the last year for traditional full-sized Fords he bought mom another Country Squire and got himself an LTD Landau sedan. Those cars were awesome interstate cruisers.

GM trim, paint and interior quality seemed to really have taken a step back on the 71-76 full size cars, I had a 1966 and 1975 Cadillac, the 75 was the top of the line GM built limo, and the 66 was a regular sedan, the 1966 was far better. I had two 1973 Galaxies, better quality than the 75 Cadillac, though the engine, trans, etc of the 75 Cadillac was fine.

Other than a nicer dashboard and the better GM compressor, stepping up to a Lincoln did not really get you that much more from 70 - 74. However, the price difference was pretty steep. I always thought the Mercury was the better-looking car anyway.

I had a 78 Town Car, and really liked it, but the build quality seemed to be no better than my 73 Galaxy. In 1980 the Lincoln became essentially a trimmed up 79- Crown Vic / Marquis, but a super pleasant car to drive no matter.

I absolutely love your collection of cars and would die to have just one of them unfortunately I live here in the Northeast these type of cars just do not exist, even online, I searched every day it all depends on the geographic location that you live in that's going to get your chances of getting one of these nice cars

Yes. I get many cars from around the US. Expand your radius a bit. I have bought many cars from the NE. This car came from CT. So did my Mark III.
