The otoplasty procedure is shown in this video with a patient who has protruding ears and wanted them pine back. The ear pinning procedure was performed under local anesthesia in the comfort of Dr. Steiger's office. This is her otoplasty journey on the day of surgery with before and after ear photos from the ear procedure. Otoplasty can also be performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia.

I live in Algeria and i don't have money to make otoplasty
I'm 49 and finally getting this done. I regret not doing this when I was younger. I was to afraid to admit that I was insecure because of my ears. I was born with my fingers from my left hand deformed. I suffer from depression also. This surgery will help me alot and I'm going to go out and find a girlfriend at my age after this surgery. This will help me so much.
How bad did it hurt. I just had it done today and man am I in some pain.
@@sierramerchant3080 CONGRATULATIONS! My left ear hurted more than my right. It also took longer to get over the pain. I guess maybe because more was done to my left ear.

@@SlasherYT-kc3wg Awesome! Congratulations! Maybe a week of swelling. I'm looking to get a revision a year after. My ears seem to have gone back a little to the cup shape as before but I'm still happy with the results because they look different in pictures still. They don't stick out as much.

I had my ears pinned back just last Friday
The injections don't hurt as much as I had expected (btw I was awake during the procedure) the actual operation didn't hurt at all but you could hear everything!!
The worst bit was definitely the night after my surgery because your ears hurt so much and it's very hard to sleep
I'm now glad I got it done! after words just keep dosed up with painkillers and you will be fine!!

Starxx i had mine done 3 months ago, if you still have trouble sleeping i reccomend a V shaped pillow, and it hurts because the nerve got slit up and it takes up to 6 months to heal properbly, i hope you as happy as i am with the results!

How much did it cost ya? I only have one ear that sticks out (very weird eh?) haha and I'm doing the preop today and the surgery in a month ish... it's about $1500 for the one ear but I've been working my butt off at work to save and i think it'll be worth it!

it was the best thing i did it for myself , as sooner the better .tell your mom the procedure take like an hour, after that the first couple nights its a litle unconfortable to sleep but nothing major.i encourage anyone that had the problem to do it its really important to fell good about ourselfs.just make sure you go to a good professional like Dr Steiger...

I had this done two days ago. I can't sleep at all, my ears are in so much pain at times. the paracetomol is useless... the bandage they put round your head is horrible but all you gotta think is you look so much better with them done!

Please show operative procedure which takes 1 hr and there is incision and closure of the wound . Don't try fooling people that it's a magic. It takes time and lot more. Be genuine to your follower's.

So pinning a ear can be this simple? I'm looking into it and most videos I see involve serious anesthesia and a lot of cutting/bleeding/stitching and very invasive looking, but I'm assuming those involve a lot more detail such as manipulating cartilage and shaping the ear and not just pinning? And this video shown with just local anesthesia and little to no blood apparently is just pinning? Did I get it correct?
Just keep in mind that the ears will pop out again. Not as before but they will pop out some.
@@VWGTI2013 sadly surgeries like these result in a relapse around 50% of the time, it's great at first but they end up protruding again slowly.
@@Lewis.... Yeah my ears popped out but not as how they were before. I could tell in pictures I take now. I like wearing hats now because my ears don't stick out as much as before.
@@VWGTI2013 I had it done in 2020 and my ears near enough completely relapsed over 2021, one side in particular was even worse than before the surgery if that's possible and looked like someone had taken a bite out of the top of my ear. Just had a free revision surgery done yesterday as the surgeon is a family friend so fingers crossed it works this time but for the cost, pain, inconvenience and recovery process + the risk of a relapse I wouldn't recommend it.
@@Lewis.... I had mine done at Northwestern Hospital Plastic Surgery. A 4th year resident did it and it costed med $1500 and I get a free revision. I actually have an appointment next Friday but with a different resident though. The one who did the procedure is no longer there.

Can you drive yourself after having the surgery under local anesthesia?
Yes if you don't take sedatives. I had the option and opted to take Valium, percocet, and Phenergan before so I could not drive. Looking back just the local numbing would have been fine and I totally could've drove. Super easy quick surgery

It is not safe to do so there are too many complications involved and you will not get to know after it will happen to you so please love yourself how you look now.

Hi jacob I need a reply urgently from you i had an outoplasty procedure done 2 day ago but it looks like he put my ears back too much. He said it will gradually position itself and look natural. Is this true? Will it slowly come more forward? I need some reassurance

I just had this done today. I'm in quite a bit of pain to be honest. 😕 percocet isn't helping.
I would ask your doctor for some stronger pain medication.
