DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is way better in all the ways. I have tested it side by side with iPhone 16 Pro in a different condition, with Hohem gimbal for iPhone and without it. Iphone has a great quality, but DJI OP3 can be used as a cinematic camera. I have multiple reviews on my channel.
@ I have compared ProRes with D-Log. I am not an expert in a video editing. You guys are doing amazing job! But my point is that even with the log format OP3 looks less pixelized. And in the low light, of course, the image is falling apart less, than on iPhone.

Thanks again for providing the downloadable links for both camera samples so we can evaluate them. I still haven’t received my iPhone 16 Pro, I only own the Pocket 3 for now. To my eyes, based on your iPhone samples, there can never be a clear winner as we all have different needs from our devices, that’s why I intend to use both, depending on the scenario. I will mostly use these two devices for my YT channel and stock footage for various agencies. For commissioned works I will still mostly rely on my Sony mirrorless. Having also looked at the Sony A 6700 vs iPhone video, the Sony seems to have more video noise but a sharper (not over-sharpened) image and better quality, compared to the iPhone. Back to the iPhone vs Pocket 3, the iPhone (in the interior shot Log scenario) clearly has worse quality and more video noise and artefacts, compared to Pocket 3. Therefore for low light shots, the Pocket 3 is a winner. Then, being an ex-Broadcast TV video editor myself, if you are using audio, the iPhone might be a pain to synchronize, as (like all other mobile phones) it records in a frame range that always varies, compared to the always fixed frame rate of the Pocket 3. I will use the iPhone in Log for still video or panning shots. I use the Pocket 3 for walking and low-light shots. The iPhone (without a mobile gimbal) may produce jitter when walking, even in good light, while the Pocket 3 will not. On the other hand, the 10-bit 4:2:2 Log and higher bitrate of the iPhone will give better overall quality compared to the 10-bit 4:2:0 lower bitrate of the Pocket 3. That’s why I said I intend to use both. Finally, a tip for Pocket 3 users: The Osmo might shoot low-resolution photos but it still is an 1” sensor. So, shoot RAW and then enhance the resolution, using Photoshop!
Amazing review on the videocamera aspect. But, you are missing a key component where the iPhone blows away the OP3, which is in still camera photos. OP3's camera for stills is terrible. Video for video, OP3 wins hands down though.
The two uses are completely different, but the gimbal functionality of the Pocket3 and the feeling from the 1-inch sensor still seem to be difficult for the iPhone to keep up with.

Excellent extensive comparison. I would be interested in learning the difference between the 2 when editing footage and cropping in. In my experience, neither camera's footage looks that great when cropping in due to the smaller sensor size.
You know, I appreciate the time and effort you put into getting that review checked mark. Based on a magazine-style approach its the perfect video😅. But I think what viewers really want is an experience based on different scenarios and a comparison video that clearly shows which camera does what. That way, it feels less like advertising! Hi I have a question I need a new camera and I’m trying to decide between the Sony a6700 and the Fujifilm X-H2 I seriously love the Fujifilm look, quality and everything about that camera my only concern is the auto focus I’m seeing so many bad things about it I saw a video saying it’s worse than my current a6000 I’m fine with changing my ecosystem because currently I only have the two kit lenses and I’m gonna buy new lenses if I get the a6700 too so it’s fine with me switching to Fujifilm I do about 60 to 70% photography and 30 to 40% Videography My work is semi professional for photography I do Wildlife, Landscape, Portrait, Everyday Street Photography, Astrophotography, Macro, Plants And want to try Plane Spotting and Car Photography then for videography i will be doing Commercials, Short Films, Trailers, concert videography, Vlogging, Social Media also none of this is fully professional client work This is more like a semi professional type of thing. I love both of these cameras, but I really want the Fujifilm I don’t care as long as it’s reliable autofocus as long as it can match my A6000 specially in video subject tracking I’m fine I’ll deal with it because I love everything else about that camera too much but if the autofocus is worse than the a6000 then I’ll have to go to my second option the a6700 which is fine cause I love that camera too, and I seriously love the auto framing in video but still the quality and the Fujifilm look😭

has anyone tried filming food content with the DJI ? I am planning to buy a pocket 3 but not Sure how it will do with food/cooking videos for my clients
I notice that (ironically) the iPhone can have stronger bokeh when you're holding both at an arm's length, which is because the 1x camera framing is much tighter compared to the Osmo. However, to match the framing (due to the huge difference in focal length) you must go physically closer with the Osmo, and THEN I'm assuming the Osmo is going to have stronger bokeh? It's a bit hard to tell by the shots in this video.
@@thefilmalliance No, I was actually asking you. Lol. But it seems like we're on the same page. I plan on getting the Osmo for shooting comedy gigs at small bars/rooms.

I’ve been shooting in slog3 and I’ve been overexposing my video like most UA-cam vids say to do. If you have any tips that would be great!
Hey there, please don’t overexpose your s log footage with the FX30. Try exposing at 0.0. I was getting that noisy footage as well until I started exposing even. Also Cine2 may be a better option. Less noise and way easier to grade. The final piece of advice is if you are shooting in a-log3 then don’t shoot in auto white balance. Lock it in place

Currently looking to buy a beginner camera for photography and a bit of videography. Which should I buy Canon r50 or Sony zv-e10?
I have Sony cameras, but the camera streaming with the phone never works. Go with a canon.
The Iphone can’t used outside for long because of high temperatures. While the other can used for longer taking videos. So San ka ka pa nobility’s na ako ng pocket DJI 3..
I understand what you’re saying. Both cameras are for different people. Which was your favorite? The iPhone 16 Pro or the Osmo Pocket 3?
What do you think about the Insta360 Ace Pro 2, how does it compare to this two devices, or is it even worth to bring it to the comparison. It’s cheaper though. I really appreciate your content.
Thanks, I’m not sure bc I’ve never shot with that camera. I think I need to get my hands on it
2:29 Iphone 15pro wrong,correct Iphone 16pro
What about Beast Grip and their lenses
I rarely read comments and reviews, but I feel this video has changed my mind about reading comments. Thank you to everyone in the comments for sharing your thoughts on the DJI OP3.
Did you pick up the Osmo Pocket 3 ?
getting my dji tomorrow and i have iphone 15pro max and 12 Pro. will drop a comparison on my channel.
Nice good stuff
has anyone tried filming food content with the DJI ? I am planning to buy a pocket 3 but not Sure how it will do with food/cooking videos for my clients
I notice that (ironically) the iPhone can have stronger bokeh when you're holding both at an arm's length, which is because the 1x camera framing is much tighter compared to the Osmo. However, to match the framing (due to the huge difference in focal length) you must go physically closer with the Osmo, and THEN I'm assuming the Osmo is going to have stronger bokeh? It's a bit hard to tell by the shots in this video.
Yes all true, I noticed this in the vlog and overhead product shots. You broke it down perfectly. Do you have the iPhone 16 Pro or the Osmo Pocket 3 ?
@@thefilmalliance No, I was actually asking you. Lol. But it seems like we're on the same page. I plan on getting the Osmo for shooting comedy gigs at small bars/rooms.
Oh sorry ha, nice Okay. As long as the area is lit well, which I’m sure it is you should be good to go with the Osmo Pocket 3. If your into comedy have you seen Mark Bennetts videos?
@@thefilmalliance No! I see he's a comedy x camera nerd. Probably a good idea to ask him for tech recs. I already have the Hollyland M2 mic set, so I'd go for the Osmo if I find a good offer on eBay. The Combo just went back to €650, which is a bit too much (was €540).
@@thefilmalliance Or I might go with the ZV-E10 for the audio recording flexibility and longevity (battery never really dies and stuff).
OP3 can be used as PTZ in a small studio?
Good call but I would give the Osmo Pocket 3 proper lighting.
it's iphone all the way for me
The iPhone's color looks more natural to my eye. DJI's color is a bit cold.
iphone same like the world is real like and the same world in op3 looks more fresh I think.
Hey man! I ended up grabbing the fx30 and I’m struggling with grainy footage. I’ve been using the base iso’s and I have a sigma 16 f1.4. Not really sure what I’m doing wrong.
@@thefilmalliancethanks man! This has really helped!
On my way get iPhone 16 pro today still on iPhone 13 rgt now
You’re going to love it. Do you also own the Osmo Pocket 3 ?
I think that was pretty even-handed review.
Thanks for the feedback. What camera did you think had better image quality? The iPhone 16 Pro or the Osmo Pocket 3?
I have both and love the quality, The Iphone 16 pro is having a issue with the tele lens 5x when having stabilization on, i move the camera and the it "jumps" the image (it does it with blackmagic and apple app) anyone is having the same problem?
I do notice that as well. I try only using the 1x lens
@@thefilmalliance i hope that they fix it on a firmware update! Cool video mate! This channel was a great factor on my decision to buy the OPIII
Nice awesome. Happy I could help.
Most people will own both , you cannot do away with a phone when using the Pocket 3 .
4K 120 OP3? Oh yeah? Where’s that lol
Apple Watch shuts down if not on hand in few minutes, so that’s not an option…

iPhone is a joke compared to osmo
With the same amount of fund, I can get a vivo x100 ultra AND a po3. The combo EATS ip16 for snack
That would be a sweet combo. Do you own the Osmo Pocket 3 ?
for sure osmo is superior in cam quality. but great comparison man 🫡
Thanks Lanzz, yes, I love the Osmo Pocket 3
@@thefilmalliance just wanted to say i appreciate your content on the OG ZVE10 man. you and mark bennett are the two main reasons why i picked the ZVE10. all love man
