You guys are great. I really appreciate how you discuss these topics and don't appear to be inclined to interrupt or yell over one another. Question, why would Mullen want to give up his analyst/commentator gig with ABC and ESPN? I would agree with you that Mullen would be terrific. He could also give support to Sherrone with HC decisions during games.
Byron L. was OC for Tampa Bay, but Brady likely led him. Since Brady retired, what has Byron done. I don't favor Byron for M's OC because he doesn't have a strong resume outside of the one year when Brady won the Super Bowl for tampa when Byron was occupying the OC role.

This is his first year at Bama, so you can’t put Milroe’s development on him good or bad. Was never a fan of Milroe anyway. Nick is a Michigan guy who’s putting up over 400 yards a game in the SEC.
Sheridan looked terrible this year and dude had the most loaded roster to work with, idc about Milroe’s limitations either because Saban went to the playoffs with him last year. I definitely don’t want Dan Mullen either, the guy openly hates recruiting lol.
Is it thinking too far out of the box to even approach Brian Griese as OC? UM pedigree, Natty qb, good enough for 49ers, and maybe interested in “coming home”. Just a thought.
I’d be happy with Candle and Craddock, but Candle has more experience and won multiple championships at Mount Union (D3 - 29-1) and in the D1 MAC, where his teams consistently won the conference.

None of the above. But out of the 5, Mullen would be my pick, but retention is the key. Recruits want to see some consistency in the coaching staff. If Mullen comes for a year and then leaves for a head coaching job, that could cause recruits to bolt. Candle may be a good option as a 2nd choice... I think it will be a surprise signing..

Rick Rod came to UM after Carr. Tough time to start after such a great and beloved coach. He said he was going to change the systems and recruit differently that what UM was used to. UM hired him knowing this. He was a successful coach at West Virginia. They then proceeded to interfere with everything he tried to do. They hamstrung him at every turn. He never stood a chance. I cannot imagine any scenario that would result in him coming back to UM.

I think your idea of reconsidering some coaches/analysts from the past is always prudent, if only because they now know more about what Michigan expects of them. RichRod certainly knew about a dynamic offense but as HC, virtually ignored the entire subjects of defense and special teams. That said, if he were willing to rein in the HC ego and work WITHIN Coach Moore's organizational structure, he might contribute some great ideas
