Lose the intro and you'll get more views. This is the ADD swipe next tiktok era and people have very little patience for any wasted time.
Hi there, thanks for watching and the advice. We released this a while and dropped the intro for this exact reason. Stay safe 😀
Thank you for breaking down the tying of this knot for us slower-than-average folks. I've tried to figure this knot out for ages with no success because everyone just says "you just tie two overhand knots and run one through the other" which is technically true but there's several ways you can do that, and I've evidently never managed to do it this way 😅 Much appreciated!
Thanks for watching! We are glad that you found it useful. There's many ways to do things, it's finding a way that suits you. Get out on the ground and use it! Be good, stay safe
Excellent video. Well explained. I will definitely be using this in the future for multiple things (shed, cycling, hiking). Keep up the good work.
Thank you for watching it is much appreciated. Glad it was helpful 😀
This knot unlike the taut line hitch slips (and thusly constricts) on its own when pulled (and with just 1 hand at that). This may be beneficial or not depending on the circumstances. BTW, (the knot also can be untightened with just 1 hand too).
You'll never know how much people appreciate how you deliver information. You've demonstrated how to tie a knot that even the most cordage-challenged person like myself can understand. Consider this a collective thank you from the unwashed masses.
Thank you kindly! Unwashed masses!? Do I need to do a hygiene in the field video next? 😂 keep pushing your content out!
@@northernlimitsbushcraftand3824 I'm probably not the only one that would appreciate a field hygiene video (purely out of curiosity), and while I do consider us friends, I cant lump you in with myself and the unwashed masses. Consider the force multiplication market cornered on that front.
@@northernlimitsbushcraftand3824 as for my own content, we're under severe weather warnings at the moment with a tornado or two touched down a little too close for comfort. Rest assured, however, tomorrow we camp and film!
Not an arbor knot this is a Canadian lock knot because in can be undone with the tail. Arbor locks off with another overhand knot to finish it off and is more permanent
Right on brother! Free Free Palestine 🇵🇸
Looks like a Canadian jam knot.
Instead of an Overhand Knot for your Stopper Knot, why not a Bowline which still gives you a Stopper Knot PLUS a loop to hang a Lantern or something AND you have the Loop to pull the Arbor Knot loose ;)
Thank you for your wonderful demonstration. I finally get it.
You are very welcome, we are glad I helped you 😀
Arbor knot is a fishing knot used to put fishing line on the arbor of a fishing pole..
Great tutorial, I prefer the Canadian jam knot tho. Super easy and just as effective. I can tie a Canadian jam knot blind, and with cold fingers in less time. Thanks!
Absolutely, many ways to get your desired effect. I've always went with if it works for you then stock with it.
Thank you for watching!
It's the same knot
I use "manger knot" which is 50% stronger than Canadian jam knot plus with quick release. Best cord or rope zip ties.
Question? ... Did you take the guts out of the paracord before tying? Apparently this help the grip.
Hi there, in this particular case I didn't. I am revisiting this video in the near future covering flattened cordage.
Is not working
It's kind of funny how everyone's just learning about this knot ... fishermen have been using it for years to attach line to a spool as well as other uses !
I know, although very useful it also very old!
So it pretty much has a zip tie type of mechanism? 😲
Thank you for watching!
Yes, when ratchet it down it self locks. You can put another knot in the running end to prevent micro slippage over time. But essentially it's a paracord zip tie.
Literally a slipknot with a stopper knot, cool. Ok.
Great knot, thanks.
Thank you for watching, we're glad you enjoyed it
