Update: if you pull the cable really, really hard, it pops out and can be put back in (good discovery by Jeff at 9to5Mac). That said, Apple says NOT to remove it, but it’s nice to know there is some recourse if something goes awry.
EAP, iJustine--10 minutes to carefully peel the plastic off, gently take off the lid, pull the HomePod out slowly Quinn--Rips the thing out--"It's in a box!" lmao
A lot of them do it so carefully so they can put it back in the box for a second, third, fourth, whatever number of takes. Also the mid-range reviewers want to put it back and the box and return it after they've completed the review.
This is exactly why I love his videos. other reviewers say "it's a bit frustrating, but who knows, maybe this will be fixed with an update in the future." Quinn just says "it's rediculous that it can't do this!"
@@andrewcool4548 Would you not be mad if an expensive product kinda sucked? That's such a dumb thing to comment about. And he doesn't even come across as mad lmao 🤣
You're an Apple fan, but not part of the cult or the 'we'll regurgitate you're marketing spiel" crowd. I''m not surprised they don't send you anything.
Keep buying Apple hardware yourself, and give us the honest candid review (even strongly negative if that is the truth). You're the best! So many other Apple reviewers are afraid to offend the lazy arrogant fairies in Cupertino.
GOSH THAT INTRO TOOK MY ANXIETY THROUGH THE ROOF! The dubbing of the Hey Siri, the exaggeration, all that stuff was fantastic & hilarious. Also, I love how people will look at their watch when they refer to things in the future that are DAYS (not hours or minutes) away lol Great video!
I like that you’re straight up with your reviews. Even though you’re an Apple fan, you don’t kiss ass and tell it how you see it. $350.00 is mad expensive for a home speaker
Xavier Rodrigues dude Suri has never been good. The original criticism was it sounds robotic and not as smart and it's still the same years later... Apple playing catch up again.
Well honestly no-one should be using the 2013 Mac Pro. Also, this is off-topic, but I honestly think the iMac Pro isn't worth it. Sure, it is powerful, but it only runs on Xeons, which can be good for multi-core processes like rendering CGI or Complex CAD, they don't do so well in Single-Core scores, so if you're a video editor, Xeons won't do as well with the single-core processes as well as an i7 or i9, and the highest Apple goes on non-Xeon CPUs is quad-core. Off-topic I know, but I needed to get that off my chest.
Ronnie Dai---I'm so sorry Ronnie (can I call you Ronnie?) but we had to vote you out of the Apple Fan Boy club. You're starting to ask impertinent questions and making wild comments and the other members are frankly uncomfortable. I'm sure you'll agree it's best for all concerned.
I have seven HomePods, so the sound is quite good throughout my residence. I appreciate the phone dialing feature for whenever I have a need to call for help. IOS integration is relatively good, and I look to see an improvement with Siri and iOS 14. I realized it may have limitations, but I'm pretty simple.
For real. Let me use it as a Bluetooth speaker. I only want to use it with my Mac, not even a 3rd party device, and I can't currently do that because Airplay is the only play. And Airplay has the tendency to drop connection after voice commands. Things are bad when Apple devices don't work well with each other.
Sir you are the best reviewer out there. No matter how many reviews I see of the same product, yours always touches on things that other reviewers don't. I always LEARN something new from your reviews over everyone else's. For example, I had NO CLUE that I would be able to ask Siri (Shitri) to play X song on my Sonos.
what I like about your videos is your not blinded by "apple vision" you have a none biased opinion even though you use most of the apple products etc. its great
6 років тому+1
Best review yet I like how you are not bias for apple you actually compare. Instead by google home or the max
Siri has gotten worse for me. Use to be great for sending texts (especially while driving) but now she always gets something wrong. Further more I’ve noticed some commands she use to execute but now she doesn’t anymore. The only thing I really use Siri for now is setting alarms, timers, unit conversions, and telling me the weather when I wake up.
Nice! Best (and most honest) review I've seen on the HomePod by a mile. I appreciate the points about its obselescence if Apple chooses to stop supporting it, on account of it having no inputs. That's a point that, somehow, no one's mentioned so far, and really important to the value of a speaker.
Thanks for telling the truth. Every video review I saw almost felt like they were trying to hard not to feel the wrath of Apple if they said something bad about their products. Especially since a certain few UA-camrs got early access to the iPhone X. Credibility went right out the window.
Thank you for recognising that there is a customer base at the end of the video and not referring to us as idiots. I live in a small unit and have been wanting a small, good sounding speaker for a while now and because Apple makes this one and therefore I know the engineering and build quality will be great I got one. I know Siri isn’t as good, although I don’t think she is as bad as some people seem to think. I have no doubt that the HomePods existence will push Apple to improve her rapidly and I have no doubt that the HomePod overall will get better over time with software updates. I do appreciate that you can’t review a product based on what might come in a future update though, you have to review what is here now. I hope to see an update video from you when the software improves.
Regarding your last comments about only being good for a small space, I have my HomePod in a 12m x 5m kitchen (so not a small room) and it fills the room with sound really well.
I bought 2 of them because why not? Sorry not sorry XD. Here is my bottom line-if you’re looking for something that gives you $349 worth of stuff or are spending your rent money on this, don’t buy it...but if you’re someone that doesn’t give a taco about the price, like and enjoy Apple stuff, and got cash to burn then join the club and get yourself one. If something better comes out next year, then buy that too and give this one to your friends! Everybody wins.
I’ve had my HomePod for 3 days now and it’s great. Build quality is good, audio quality is amazing for its size, and yes Siri doesn’t do as much as her competitors but I’m not one to have a detailed and chained conversation with my speaker. She does the basics and a little more and that’s enough for me personally.
Others probably have said this, but if not, the power cable is removable and not hardwired. Just FYI. Love your channel and your take on things! Take care.
Pokemon Master "Audio quality is unmatched...Home Max can't compare" Have to heavily disagree with you here the Home Max is undoubtedly the best Smart *Speaker* on the market, not only can it get far, far louder then the HomePod but it has in my experience a far better low end compared to the HomePod.
@snazzy labs Good to see you back making videos. You were gone for a year I think. I think I saw you in Vegas during labour day weekend but I was too afraid to say hi. Love your honest unfiltered reviews.
He is one of the top 5 most *honest* people on UA-cam. I liked his video of that pos 2016 Macbook Pro with Touch Bar. Everyone else was saying how great it is (including that ultra-shill Marques Brownlee). But Snazzy told the hard, honest truth. Awesome!
The biggest problem with this is that it's frustratingly limited. Yeah, they can add support for other services via OTA, but what about hardware limitations? Also, that Mac Pro in the beginning.
Glad to see someone finally compare this to a Play:3, since that's the Sonos device in the homepod's price range, and it's also the smart speaker I own. Guess I have no need for the homepod then, great review as always!
Great video, convinced me (not that I needed convincing) once again that the homepod is not for me. Although I must add that the power cable is removable. It just needs a lot of force to pull it out.
I like the video. However, I would say that there is a crucial difference between airplay and Bluetooth: airplay doesn't compress data, while Bluetooth doe, which means that you can get the same quality over airplay as with a digital connection.
Actually you're wrong! Somewhat 😂 now yes you can get the same quality as the source with airplay but that does not mean it is not compressed. Airplay uses Apple's lossless compression codec, which is still a form of compression nonetheless.
I'm not an apple fan and i actually don't like apple politics, but i like looking at your videos because even using apple ecosystem you're honest and not a sheep, I like apple innovations and seeing someone being so honest while excited for the new products. That said i really need to say that you kinda look like Chandler of Friends.
Update: if you pull the cable really, really hard, it pops out and can be put back in (good discovery by Jeff at 9to5Mac). That said, Apple says NOT to remove it, but it’s nice to know there is some recourse if something goes awry.
Snazzy Labs Your Cool
Snazzy Labs lol I won’t remove mine
No warranty if removed for sure.
Lol they are charging like $30 for a new cable!
I removed it. It works better without it.

I love how Quinn always gives hot takes on tech products, never takes the 'safe' route
Thanks for watching, man
This is exactly why I love his videos. other reviewers say "it's a bit frustrating, but who knows, maybe this will be fixed with an update in the future." Quinn just says "it's rediculous that it can't do this!"
Liked as soon as I heard “Wow! It comes in a box!”
Hahaha! I did the same. Best unboxing ever.

Jared Davidson the guys angry as fuck. Geez.
Andrew Cool because he is an apple fan. And the product sucks.
@@andrewcool4548 Would you not be mad if an expensive product kinda sucked? That's such a dumb thing to comment about. And he doesn't even come across as mad lmao 🤣

Apple never gives me review units anyways. Lol. Cheers!

DId your Mac Pro fall to the floor and break? This makes me really anxious...
I love how you edited out all the "hey Siri" moments so you wouldn't trigger anyone's Siri
😃
Snazzy Labs …you could’ve said “snazzy” each time too, tho’😏
Hey, Salami!
my phone triggered the first time only😂
Siri responds to only your voice
Roses are red
My curry is spicy
Home pod is pricy
Siri is dicey
Comment won the internet today 👍🎉🎉🏆
Such a poetry
The "roses are red" part doesn't fit in.
Its not a meme

Indeed it is!
finally.. i always wanted a smaller trashcan
When my Alexa says something like "to use this feature just say, Alexa" then it activates itself
I have had iPhones for a while and I’ve never liked Siri but I think Siri is getting worse if anything.
Smart Easy DIY
Siri is getting better for sure, but the competition is getting better faster.
I shut the fuck siri for over 3yrs! Used Google assistant and dank! Its awesome
Siri was the best, but Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa just leapfrogged it.
It sure feels like Siri is getting worse.

I love my HomePod, its literally my favorite speaker to cast to.
As an Apple fan boy, I really want them to lose a lot of money in one year so they can get their shit together and make truly innovative product.
Innovative product? This is best speaker ever.
Muntom quality bait

Audiowise this is a really innovative speaker.
Everyone I know testing HomePod sound quality uses Daft punk. That truly is the only way.
Hey Salami, add Siri to the shopping list😂
This is one of the most entertaining review ever. I am turning notifications on. Great Video!
Thanks, Nimesh!
Nimesh Nayaju this is a terrible damging review.
i love this dude! i was so brainwashed by ijustine review on the homepod.
fondoo ijustine - well there's your problem
Cheap shot 🙄🙄🙄
iJustine is not a reviewer ... she's a model ...
iJustine is about impressions. If you want “objective” reviews without personal opinion, you should look somewhere else.

I have seven HomePods, so the sound is quite good throughout my residence. I appreciate the phone dialing feature for whenever I have a need to call for help. I’ve never almost shit my pants laughing but this was so fucking funny, so out of nowhere, you really scared my underwear for a second

Why you're not at 1M subs I don't understand - one of the best, and more importantly - unique, tech channels around.

Yep. Pinned comment was added hours ago to address this. Thanks for watching.

That’s it , subscribed cause of this video . One of the most entertaining HomePod vids I’ve ever seen . Great job !!
Once again, a well-rounded video with the perfect sense of humour! Cheers!

Michael Scott: that’s what she said
New slogan for Siri:

The best HomePod review I've seen so far!
Undoubtedly the best HomePod review by far.
lmao i just subscribed you channel this morning and i cant stop watching you till afternoon

You are probably the most objective youtube platform when it comes to Apple. Thank-you snazzy labs.😁👍✅
I love this channel and your work bro. Awesome video as always!
this is the best review video I've seen so far
Cheers!
When you said “hey Siri” my phone responded....
Very funny, loved the unboxing part of the video
I mean, it DID come in a box. 😊
Snazzy Labs …well, quite frankly, how could you have done an unboxing video of it if it didn’t come in a box, tho’?🤔 …see?😆
Best review of the HomePod! Great job Quinn!
I feel like this guy is in the top 5 smartest people on UA-cam
Lol why thanks!
And definitely in the top 1 of snazziest people.
He is one of the top 5 most *honest* people on UA-cam. I liked his video of that pos 2016 Macbook Pro with Touch Bar. Everyone else was saying how great it is (including that ultra-shill Marques Brownlee). But Snazzy told the hard, honest truth. Awesome!
He frequently buys apple. So no.
The biggest problem with this is that it's frustratingly limited.
Yeah, they can add support for other services via OTA, but what about hardware limitations?
Also, that Mac Pro in the beginning.
When Siri said “just say Hey Siri” my iPhone I’m watching this on triggered
I rest my case
I audibly laughed out loud at each fucking voice spoof. I thought after Salami that was it, Alyssa got me good man.
Glad to see someone finally compare this to a Play:3, since that's the Sonos device in the homepod's price range, and it's also the smart speaker I own. Guess I have no need for the homepod then, great review as always!
And the award for the best video title goes to...
🤗
wow, i love your honesty, keep up the great work
I don't know about you but here Siri is the only assistant that actually works and responds instantly.
Commitment to privacy affects Siri’s intelligence and performance.
Thank you for saying it like it is man. I was almost at the edge of puking from all the overwhelmingly positive reviews of most other tech tubers
I thought the Mac at the begging was gonna fall 😂
When Siri said to get my attention say hey Siri it triggered my Siri
I can hear the footsteps of you running to catch that Mac Pro
True, but I find it unlikely that Apple will just drop airplay any time soon
but the point is that it is lossless; there will be no noticeable difference
King Mongkut Don't be so sure...they did drop the headphone jack.
SquishySpud wireless is what Apple finds the future so I’m totally sure they won’t drop AirPlay, they’ll be upgrading it, if anything
hahahahha, oh god that mac pro literally looks like the homepod except larger. i almost skipped a beat when i saw that mac pro rolling off the table
Now this is a REAL review!!

can we get a 2020 update on this? has the software updates addressed any of these issues

This is the greatest review of the HomePod that I’ve ever seen. Nice job Quinn!
When he said hey Siri, Siri activated on my iPhone
