    I love seeing products that have true engineering effort put into them.

    Love my HDS Clicky 140 I bought 10 or more years ago. I've had many Surefire lights, 4Sevens (original company), Fenix, and Streamlight lights over the years. My top two lights right now are STILL the HDS Clicky and a Haley Strategic D3FT.

      They are great lights!

    Thanks. I've only briefly looked at the Fury, but I think this light has far more features and options than the SF which you can only get in a single or double output versions. Once you use the rotary function you get spoiled. 500 lumens is great and all, but you probably don't actually need that much power almost ever. The SF is also probably a much larger light and you aren't likely to carry it in your pocket.

    At 6:04 in the video, do you know the function of that little piece of copper wire sticking out above the flashlight threads on the portion held in your left hand?

  • @SnareMan
    @SnareMan  12 років тому

    I am tempted to get one of those Fury's though just for that impressive 500 number, even though I don't think I'd ever need it. I hardly use the full power of the 300+ lumen lights I have.

    Henry has definitely put some effort into it.

    I got lucky and found it on batterystation before they all dried up. I think somewhere around January of this year.

    Good video, as always. Why would this light be a better investment than a Surefire P2X Fury (500 lumens) which is available at the same price or less? Thanks for the reply.

    There were problems with suppliers....When did you get the Lamp?

    That wire is a connection for proper continuity between both parts of the case. It's what makes the switch in the tailcap work properly.

    Thanks. Absolutely! I actually bought a second one in orange.

    Haha...I hope that rumor is true. I just placed an order for a High-Cri and I'm tempted to cancel it. I didn't realize he was still having problems until I started reading the CP Forums. Man...I really want one of Henrys lights...but I don't know if I can be that patient to wait several months.

    Some people have been waiting almost a year since placing an order.

    I know you are a fan boy. Henry is making Cerakote colors available to order right now with two weeks delivery. It appears he has stock as I ordered the new Tactical EDC from BrightGuy and it was in stock with the kydex holster. Miracle.

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  9 років тому

      That's crazy talk that Henry would have something in stock!!

  • @SnareMan
    @SnareMan  11 років тому

    Yea, it'd be tough. Henry just postsed an update in the HDS thread saying that he'd found some new shops but that it would still take a few months to get the backlog out. I'd like to believe it as he seems like a stand up guy, but I've heard the new shop story before. The shops always seem to fall through somehow with their quality.

    By the way, I didn't mention it yesterday, but you make, by far, my favorite EDC gear videos. I feel like you and I share an ethos in our gear (though we clearly differ in how we budget for gear, haha). Then I checked your channel uploads and saw some DCI videos on there and thought, "Well that makes sense, we're both Drum Corps guys." Thanks for all your hard work on here.

      LOL. Small world. Did you march? I marched Bluecoats 91-94, smaller corps (Limited Edition) in 89-90 and did Star of Indiana's Brass Theater in 95

    • @thecompletejake
      @thecompletejake 10 років тому

      Yeah I marched in DCA for a few years. When I was 17 I got an offer to march with the blue devils but I'm from new england and I couldn't bring myself to move out to the left coast all by myself.

      SnareMan Here's some vids you might like they. They don't quite fit with my channel so I have them set to unlisted

    You and I spoke yesterday about this light. I watched these videos. This light is clearly nicer than my PD22 (Which, as I mentioned, I'm perfectly happy with.) but there was one thing you brought up in this video that got me thinking about shelling out for an orange HDS rotary. You mentioned that this light sorta nails every aspect of an EDC light and that once you get one, you really won't need or want any other light. And here I am, "happy with my PD22," but watching 2 versions of a video about a flashlight for a combined total of somewhere in the ballpark of 40 minutes...clearly I subconsciously think that my EDC light situation could be improved or I wouldn't be so interested. I can't bring MYSELF to shell out for one of these right now, but christmas is coming and I have a wife...
    Thanks for all your help.

      Thanks for the comments and for checking out the vids. Two things the PD22 has going for it is the much smaller size (the HDS's are a little on the chunky side) and well the price is obviously a little different. While I liked the PD22, I liked the PD20 even better. I'd still be carrying one if I hadn't left it in the Grand Canyon and they stopped making them. My new favorite small EDC is the EagleTac D25. Everything the PD20 had, but smaller, lighter and brighter. I remember buying my first Surefire and thinking the price was absolutely insane. I was used to my $5 lights from Lowes. It was all downhill after that...

    • @thecompletejake
      @thecompletejake 10 років тому

      I forgot to ask, which version of the D25 are you carrying?

    • @SnareMan
      @SnareMan  10 років тому

      Jake Harvey do you mean size or led type? It's the single cr123 version with the cool LED. I of course have a video on it. :-) also have the 2 battery version

    • @thecompletejake
      @thecompletejake 10 років тому

      Sorry. I want clear. The d25 has a bunch of different models that differ by way of size and shape and each has a letter designation. D25C, d25a, d25l, etc. I'll just search for your video of it though. Thanks again.

      Jake Harvey no problem. I have the d25c and c2

    nope. No clue. I just assumed it was for some type of electrical connection.
