Legitimately makes me want to cry thinking about that: they put out their best work, finally found the sound they were looking for, and like you said they just started hitting their creative peak then Kurt dies 😢
It didn't happen. Accept it. No it sucks jk, it totally sux n I'm leaving now, to go cry alone in my basement while i look at my lonely drumz and chain-smoke cigarettes and other plant matter
i feel like they didn't even peak truly... every album kept getting better than the last. it feels like there's a couple more albums that would have been even more game changing, had they kept going.
In Utero is a masterpiece and Heart-Shaped Box is simply stunning, with a mind-blowing video. Kurt's expression at the end is one of the iconic images of the 1990s.
Definately nirvanas best album for me love it realy raw wish we could of heard alot more from them it wasnt meant to be im afraid we all know what happned next.
I swear on the track penny royalty every time after Kurt screams there is like a hint or an essence just a trace of his voice that bleeds from it and it's so amazing...Kurt was so special to many of us. And if you were a teen like I was when he left us , you know exactly what I'm talking about ...to miss someone for the rest of your life that you never met ...but strangely felt so familiar with...
Lol you could tell Kurt treated Dave like Paul and John treated George when he first started contributing to the songwriting. “Yeah Dave drew this great little picture and we put it on the fridge and everything” lol
Got to know Nirvana through in Utero and Incesticide....so happy about that! But so sad the time with Kurt alive was too short... I was so young but already went through so much, I felt so alone on the planet and then came Nirvana and changed my live forever!🖤🖤🖤
I bought this record the very day it came out. nirvana came to my hometown a months later and I saw them in January of 1994. It was a great show. RIP Kurt.
I always liked that Kurt rooted for the underdog. A tribute to Francis Farmer was always a splendid choice. Time has gone by and the entire Nirvana catalog still sounds fresh and breathtaking to me. R.I.P to both.
I know In Utero is their third album, but why isn't Incesticide considered a studio album? Most of the songs are indeed Nirvana songs. In Utero is the best Nirvana album in my opinion.
Because Kurt and his band are not responsible for the release. I guess they recorded those tracks and decided to not use them for an album. But hence the contract those songs belonged to the label and wanted to make money off of them. So the record label released "Incesticide" not Nirvana
Incesticide was songs that the band had previously recorded, B-sides, and when Nevermind flew off the shelves, Geffen Records put those songs out as Incesticide.
The album was a compilation of songs that were b-sides and outtakes recorded at different times that weren't done so to be released together. A studio album you bring a group of songs to record with the sole purpose of being relased together.
7:33 - Giving Frances Farmer's appearance, background and the themes of the album. It would make perfect sense that the anatomical angel in the cover of the album is actually Frances Farmer herself just medically themed by Kurt. He properly wanted to be respectful to Frances Farmer by linking her life experiences of been trapped in the mental institution into a visual art by drawing her in such a way that the anatomical angel would be a perfect art piece that showcases her and her life struggles in a medical form way by having the angel be anatomical to give context that the album would be medical theme based.
I think that this is the best album of all time. Perhaps it's because so much energy behind the music. Or maybe it's the production or the lack thereof. How does a band start with Floyd the Barber or Paper Cuts and get here? It's like there's a gem in every place you listen and look. You don't have to look hard to find moments of unexpected harmony and bewildering cacophony - sometimes at the same time. This is the only Nirvana album where Kurt's lyrics were included as he wanted to be taken more seriously as a songwriter. He and his bandmates in Nirvana meant it. This is a serious album. But at the end of the day, this record is always worthy of your attention because the music is just so damn good. Whenever I hear that broken sort of car crash of an intro to Serve the Servants, I feel the same sense of excitement and wonder that I felt when I heard it for the first time. Thank you. What else can I say?
Nirvana means eternal pleasure leads to eternal life. It is not religious, political, or a cause. It is freedom from all suffering, leaders, belief in good or evil, fear, hate, & negativity. Kurt Kurdt on UA-cam. Nirvana - Starve on UA-cam.
i've got a bittersweet relationship with this album. i'm kurt's age, lived it in realtime so couldn't even listen to it for a long time, and it's still not free of the burdens and memories of that time, although grateful for the music.
Good for Kurt to have cared more about how he felt about the album than the label or some others. I love all the albums differently, but this one has always been my favorite. Time gone by has proven it to be the masterpiece it truly is. Also, Perfume is a hauntingly beautiful book. I only read it once, but I can understand how someone could read it ten times because it’s very well written.
I always thought that if Kurt didn´t die, Nirvana would have split or go on hiatus for a number of years until Kurt gets clean and things fall in their right place. I imagine Kurt releasing solo albums, and if Nirvana got together again a few years after In Utero, I somehow believe they would have made a similar stylistic leap as Radiohead have done. I remember Kurt telling in several interviews that the Grunge hype will fade out and it would be nice to move on, and in another interview he always said that he wanted to do something "with breakdancers" - So Nirvana moving away from distorted grunge/punk sound to a more refined, electronic music would be a logical step. It would be exciting to hear what Kurts "Ok Computer" would have sounded like. I also agree with Krist who said a million times in interviews that Kurt could have done anything he wanted. Be it paintings or sculptures, solo albums, collaborations with other musicians...It would be brilliant to watch him evolve his style and art. Whatever happened in April of 1994 shouldn´t have happened at all. Kurts death created a huge void in music and art visible until this day.
I simply cannot choose a favorite, to me its like a bunch of tasty delicious different kind of beer. I love em all. Bleach - Raw teen naive Kurt. Very dark very heavy. (Siftin and Paper cuts, oh my, Floyd t.B ohhhh) Nevermind - Masterpiece, whether he likes it or not. pitty he could not play Lounge act live, Stay Away sucks (sorry) In Utero - Powerfull and mature Kurt, the guitars are insane, vocals unique. (Very Ape, Milk it, Frances F. ooooohhhhhhh)
They were at their peak with in utero. I dream of the next album that could have been. Live long in spirit kurt. I was happy to visit your house and pay my respects a month ago.
Found the limited edition version, clear white vinyl, in a thrift shop. Sealed all around except for I baseball sized hole in the shrink wrap in the front. Was super stoked to find it.
Wow man, that's cool that you still have your old cassettes. I've got Outcesticide I & Outcesticide II on cassette still. Haven't used them in years lol...
I've heard Nevermind all the way through several times but never listened to In Utero from beginning to end, I'll have to give that a listen one of these days
It's a great album,, but it's a frustrating album because t's a person self-destructing and deliberately writing abrasive material every other song to drive people away. That abrasive material is also good, but it's the self-sabotage of it all that makes the record so depressing, honest, and real.
In Utero is one of my fav records. That being said, Cobain’s insistence on signing to a major label is likely why there were initial difficulties in releasing the album. Geffen is trying to move units.. they wanted another Nevermind, and Cobain didn’t. If they stayed on Subpop I’d imagine they’d have had a lot more artistic freedom in releasing the album they wanted to release.
I watch what some might call an "obsessive amount of stuff about nirvana and KC, and your videos are 👍😁. I.m A Fan. There i SAID it. I ain't sorry for it!!😜
Some people say that Kurt Cobain died in 1994, but actually it was Paul McCartney who died in 1966 and was quickly replaced by Faul McFartney. There never was a Furt Fobain. (There was a Fohn Fennon, however, as the original John Lennon also died in 1966. Him and Paul were together at the time, and were both killed in the same way. Unfortunately, I cannot divulge their cause of death, as doing so would cause a bomb in my neck to explode. Frankly, I've probably already shared too mu
2:16 breaks your heart just to think about what could have been. Dave & Kurt writing more together could have been epic. They could each write about a song and a half about Courtney, now if they teamed up..... 🤯
That's what it's supposed to do, brain wash you into believing he killed himself. And wasn't murdered by Courtney and Dave. Dave killed kurt to get his own record deal and band. The record company know you sell more dead than alive. It all stinks of dogshitstein

In Utero is their best album. Wish they could have gone on to make more, they were just hitting their creative peak.
Yeah I feel like we all got cheated..

I love to hear Kurt's voice. Both singing and speaking.
Same
Same here. Love watching all the videos and interviews.
In Utero is a masterpiece and Heart-Shaped Box is simply stunning, with a mind-blowing video. Kurt's expression at the end is one of the iconic images of the 1990s.
Not really
In Utero is by far their best album. All the songs just go well together and All Apologies gives off a weird but good vibe.
Definately nirvanas best album for me love it realy raw wish we could of heard alot more from them it wasnt meant to be im afraid we all know what happned next.
Still an awesome album after 28 years... I will say this in 28 years
I swear on the track penny royalty every time after Kurt screams there is like a hint or an essence just a trace of his voice that bleeds from it and it's so amazing...Kurt was so special to many of us. When he says I’m so tired I can’t sleep. Man man man. I was going through deep depression when I first heard that song
The best rock album ever made
Lol you could tell Kurt treated Dave like Paul and John treated George when he first started contributing to the songwriting. “Yeah Dave drew this great little picture and we put it on the fridge and everything” lol
I'm happy for Kurt that he was able to GET the record that he wanted the way it sounded in his head.

R.I.P to both.
I hate it when people say that in utero was their third album because it wasn't. It was their 4th album. INCESTICIDES STILL EXISTS PEOPLE!
Incesticide is a compilation, not a true album.
You could say it's an album, but not an album _proper._
In Utero and all that could have been. RIP Kurt

You know you're right it would of been good the fourth album ☺️
Yes I would’ve loved to hear the follow up to in utero w that song on it. Maybe it could’ve been song number 1?
There was so much unfinished business for nirvana. I would have loved to hear even more raw sounding albums which he strived for. I love insecticides
Very Ape. Love that song. Francis Farmer too.

Yes, I agree the best along with the unplugged album. Never gets tired or old, genius. 😎👍📀🎧🎤🎵🎸
I love nevermind full stop this is such a fun album the sound is so raw Kurt sounds amazing and I repeat and play it over and over again

after waiting for three years i was thrilled by in utero, and played it over and over. artistic and gritty on every level

Frances Farmer was a looker.
They were at their peak with in utero. I dream of the next album that could have been. Live long in spirit kurt. I was happy to visit your house and pay my respects a month ago.
Kurt was Jesus the rockstar. In Utero is the best album ever written.
I like how Chris stepped in when Kurt was gonna leave the part about Dave coming up with the riff it wasn't by accident what a dick
He is was insecure he dove into heroin and killed himself....what a dick.
In Utero is my fave nirvana album and is also in my top five of all time favourites.
Best rock album ever
In utero is awesome it's so raw more of a follow up from bleach. Radio friendly unit shifter was the greatest nirvana song ever
Im glad he made the album he was proud of before he passed
Cant beleive its been 30 years
great video. in utero is my #1 rock album of all time
Great video bro❤🤙
Thanks man!

Great video 👍🏻
Absolutely one of the best videos ever made. Incredible song with a perfect video to go with it
Awesome interview
You should make a behind the album for There is Nothing Left to Lose by the foos
This is the best studio and Incesticide
Let's go, great video
RIP Steve

Frances Farmer sings a lovely version of Aura Lee.
I love the album especially when comes to sentences apprentice especially when comes to the gutiar riffs n the beat .

Kurt: Too Slick.
Nirvana was geffens cash cow, theyd have let them do whatever they wanted, and could’ve gone on to make many more albums like this
When in utero came out I wondered why there were so many babies and human flesh on this album cover
Sometimes i think if he still alive kurt. nirvana are they still play or no
2:16 breaks your heart just to think about what could have been. Dave & Kurt writing more together could have been epic. They could each write about a song and a half about Courtney, now if they teamed up..... 🤯
Almost on par with Nevermind , an excellent Nirvana album. Mix Nevermind & Bleach together and you have In Utero.
Better than Nevermind?
Each fantastic in there own way in my humble opinion
Milk it goes so hard
Was the strategy to place a bunch of mics everywhere validated beyond In Utero?
Good job doing the music i think you dknt get enough credit for the music part of your videos..
4:00 he reeeally didn’t like the sunset strip
Francis farmer sounds like he named his daughter after her
Incesticide is my jam
Blu blu blu blu blu blu blu.
Just as a sidebar, Francis Farmer was treated to a lobotomy while institutionalized.
Dave came up with pennyroyal tea not scentless apprentice
Perfume
Francis farmer sounds like the og Brittany spear’s conservatory
Steve albini was not a minimalist, he was just being lazy.
It was a concept album.
No its not better than "Nevermind". It is different and more creative and less clean sounding, but not better.
Watch Soaked in Bleach film and your opinion of Kurt killing himself will be gone. Damn Courtney.
That's what it's supposed to do, brain wash you into believing he killed himself. And wasn't murdered by Courtney and Dave. Dave killed kurt to get his own record deal and band. The record company know you sell more dead than alive. It all stinks of dogshitstein
@@matthewjdouglas6471 well that's one theory I haven't heard , don't believe it though lol
We really never gonna know in this life as much as the evolution of Nirvana if he was alive Rip Kurt 💜
You make these videos for people who are to fookin lazy to read books.
In utero was not much different than never mind.. there was a clear progression from bleach to never mind two in utero though… decent album for sure.
I like Bleach the most.
Same
@Riny Megayanti nevermind got the glory because how band had evolved performance wise but Bleach had better songs.
@@gregrohsful it's almost hard to pick a Favourite song on a Bleach album. Because almost all the songs on the album I like it. That's just my opinion
