Armin, you did something amazing for me, and my daughters, and don't even realize it. So wanted to share! I've loved your music for years now, but this was my first EDC. (Your live set was freaking amazing btw...The highlight of the event hands down!!! ) At the last minute, I decided to build a totem, and told my daughters (15 & 12, who also like your music) that my hope was I could build something that maybe even you could spot! They know you are my favorite artist, but still were like "Whatever daddy...there will be over 100K other people in that crowd, how is he going to notice you?" But I told them "you never know! and you will fail 100% of the time if you don't try! So sometimes you just have to try, and see what happens". They looked at me with a "sure daddy" smirk..lol But they know me well, and knew I'd still do it. So I built it anyway. (mostly in my Vegas hotel room, as I had little time to spend on it) I wasn't able to get into the best position in the crowd that night, but just being there in the moment was amazing, and an experience I'll never forget. My girls asked me when I got back if you saw it. I told them, likely not, as I wasn't able to get close enough, and not even on the side where all the cameras were, so chances are no one except those around me even noticed... and that I'm absolutely OK with that, because totem or no totem..it was about the music and the experience...and I had a fantastic time!!!! The trip was about the music, and the experience....the totem was just a last minute side idea, and almost dare to them to see what is possible. However...then I watched THIS video...and what does it open with???? MY OWL!!!!! HA! My girls were in utter SHOCK that something daddy built made it on the opening sequence of Armin van Buuren's video! And while I'll never know if you actually saw it that night...I assume you've seen the opening of your video...lol I know it's such a small and silly thing...but to be able to prove to them that just because something is unlikely or far fetched..never stop reaching for the stars, as you may actually grab one. Thank you. Than you for your awesome music. Thank you for such an awesome live set. Thank you for showing my girls that crazy hopes can be met. I'd share a photo of their smiles watching it if I could. But know they were amazed, and inspired to go after their own crazy ideas now. I will see you live in the middle of a very energetic crowd W2 of Tomorrowland this July. I don't think they do totems there, so the Owl will stay home. But my smiling face will be there soaking in all the moments. Thanks again, for inspiring on so many levels.

I remember I saw armin for the 1st time live at together as one new years 2007 with his 8 hour exclusive performance. He hasn't lost it. So cool to see the new generation carrying on PLUR. It will never die at this point. Lost and diluted in commercialism sure but it's gone from a fad to a trend to now simply a branched part of our culture

These festivals look like they are just full of rich and stupid looking people. The crowd have no idea about EDM. I have never been there, so i might be wrong. Just saying.
Dude I was peaking on acid during this set! I had no idea who Armin Van Buuren was, or really what trance was for the matter. My group had really wanted to see him though so I tagged along with an open mind. Oh my god this was easily one of my best experiences at EDC, I am now a HUGE fan of trance!! I have never danced so hard in my life hahahahah
@@edweennguyen Armin has a radio show every thursday called ASOT (A state of trance), if you're interested. Been a fan on Armin since 08. Saw him live at EDC and was blown away. Best performance for me at EDC19.
The filming crew may not have been that great, but being there was absolutely amazing! Hearing that "are you ready for a state of trance?" In person for the first time was such a wonderful feeling and memory!

I like how Armin still uses the Xone DB4 mixer. A very complex yet fantastic piece of hardware. Sounds way better than the stock Pioneer mixer.

Dude I was peaking on acid during this set! I had no idea who Armin Van Buuren was, or really what trance was for the matter. My group had really wanted to see him though so I tagged along with an open mind. Oh my god this was easily one of my best experiences at EDC, I am now a HUGE fan of trance!! I have never danced so hard in my life hahahahah
@@edweennguyen Armin has a radio show every thursday called ASOT (A state of trance), if you're interested. Been a fan on Armin since 08. Saw him live at EDC and was blown away. Best performance for me at EDC19.

The filming crew may not have been that great, but being there was absolutely amazing! Hearing that "are you ready for a state of trance?" In person for the first time was such a wonderful feeling and memory!
