Hey buddy I agree I am trying to start a movement that is as simple as contacting your representatives in letting them know that we want them to tell the Secretary of Transportation he needs to appoint at least one 30-year veteran truck driver preferably owner operator in the transportation department in DC whether it's with the dot or the FMCSA I have been on x tweeting at Duffy and Trump trying to get someone to take notice but it's going to take everybody

This is the only industry where you can get fined for trying to do the most for your business, any other company on whether it's a restaurant, Car Lot, mechanic shop, doesn't matter you can work as many hours as you want to be successful as you need to be. however, in the trucking industry, you will be fined if you work beyond what the government says that you're allowed to work.

For some reason, I can't see emissions or DEF leave the industry. Now I can see no more advanced emissions requirements for manufacturers, only federal laws, not single state delusional requirements. CARB goes bye bye.

Hear this story-got my DOT physical came thru clean no limitations with 17 inch neck bmi of 39..joined Prime inc. Has a returning driver after 5 years,their house policy is if you have a bmi higher than 36 you have to have sleep study which is in house,so basically you are found to have sleep apnea made to purchase a cpap machine for $1,700 dollars and required to have your dot physical redone with prime inc results destroying your good DOT physical results and making you get a limited DOT card,off a house policy...made up BS,should be rules against these nickle and dime tricks on drivers looking for work.

Some areas truckers can idle with no heater and you’ll be fine. Other areas not so much. trucks can’t be canceled M.T we’ll always need them to move food around. There is always room for causing less emissions.

Automation will come no matyer whos is office. We need to focus on ALL the other things that affect us in our qualoty of life as truckers. Theres no stopping automaton. Stop thinking it can be stopped. Focus on what matters! Pay and parking, then rules of service hours.

We still can't have trucks rolling coal, we have to be realistic, in my opinion the best horsepower yet not blowing tons of black smoke were the engines between 1998 - 2004 cats, detroit, mack, cummins all had powerful engines

It wasn’t the actual engines that stopped creating all that black smoke. It was the implementation of low sulphur diesel for the most part.

It’s not about the Green deal, it’s about striking a balance between smog and commerce. Electric trucks work great for day cabs, but OTR should be diesel. Why can’t we as a nation strike a moderate balance?

Remember when i started driving on 2005 a lot of time i was behind a truck wow i can’t breath on smoking come from the muffler of that truck.And up to 2010 i think they start the DEF and it’s help.That’s the reason for the DEF to cut down the smoke from the truck.I think DEF is better than the ABU the smoke coming from abu especially if you park on the side man you can’t breath,it’s bad.

Pardon my French but that is reality
The lack of reevaluations of emissions required components instead of just doubling down and requiring more. On gas engines the cataleptic converter that helped with smog back in the early 70s but with today's high efficient engines with precise computer control actually need to be programed to run up to 30% richer/dirtier than needed just to get the converters to heat up, these same engines without an EGR and Cat. Conv. and reprogramed for optimum efficiency would produce less emissions higher MPG and more horsepower and last longer. As for diesel trucks the emissions from making def fluid the containers to ship and sell is 10X higher than the emissions those trucks would produce without a def system. Deisel engines need lots off fresh cool air to run clean, choaking them down with EGR and CATS and DEF filters is the wrong way to go and causing premature engine failure
most of the chairman in the house of Congress also be very careful and pay attention to where they hold their stocks. Sometimes you’ll find out and coincidentally that they always support whatever is going towards their stockholdings which I think is not fair.
