The soul stone isn't what makes him powerful. The dude has one of the most broken abilities that is basically a cracked out zenkai boost, upon near death he reverts to a cocoon state and basically evolves and gets stronger in some weird way. The soul stone made him slightly crazy and had a will of its own and wanted souls. Then we have magus which is even weirder. Fun fact the X-Men have a warlock who's father is named magus if I'm not mistaken.
I don’t know if this is a hot take or not, but I actually liked how Adam was portrayed in GOTG Vol. 3. He wasn’t as strong as his comics counterpart, to be sure, but he was still an intimidating threat for the Guardians to fight. Plus, I think it worked well for the story they were trying to do - this is a version of Adam who was literally just born, and he was a good foil for Rocket as another flawed creation of the High Evolutionary who was trying to find his own purpose in life.

Adam Warlock was my favorite comic character since i was a kid. I was always a cosmic marvel fan because i felt they were allowed to do more than the mainstream stories. I never thought that characters like Gamora, Pip, Moondragon, Drax, the High Evolutionary, Thanos, etc. would get their time on screen. I'm very excited. I hope they do him justice. I would have loved to have seen the Infinity Watch story though.
I think it’s too soon to do that story. We just finished infinity saga, infinity watch would be kinda redundant. After Kang, and Galactus, than Watch should come in IMO.

When Warlock kicked the crap out of Mephisto in his own realm where his power is supposed to be absolute. One of my favorite battles next to Thanos v.s. Odin where Thanos just won't give up! Awesome battle! But going to Hell and whipping, no pun intended, the hell out of Marvel's own devil and could've taken over is testament to Adam's power. I am fascinated by Adam Warlock and he is one of my 3 top favorite heroes.

But even without the Soul Gem, his power is vast, he can devolve spices into previous forms, he can harness the energies of the universe to enhance his strength and produce karmic blasts, he has cosmic awareness and stitch the fabric of the universe itself, and that just some of his powers without the Soul Gem.
You can't really kill him. He just comes back with a new power set. And God was going to let him take over but he decided to be closer to people to help. What higher purpose could you serve . The people closest to him!

Warlock has been one of my all time favorite characters in really anything for 30 years now..when it comes to comics he's in my top 5 without a doubt anything that has to do with him has always fascinated me since i first read Marvel Premiere #2 when i was 7 back in 1993 ..along with The Living Tribunal,High Evolutionary, Galactus and anything involving A.I.M. and Silver Surfer I've never read a bad story involving him and I'd say he fascinates me more than any other comic character..lastly i got nothin against Will Poulter but i think Warlock should've been played by Nikolaj Coster Waldau or someone similar to him but much like Daniel Craig playing Bond or Heath Ledgers Joker im waiting til i actually see it before i criticize his portrayal or casting

I think the High Evolutionary fears the fully mature form of Warlock. We have also seen his cocoon in both Thor the Dark World. The Collector had it. At the end of Guardians 2 in the end credit cut scene we see Knowhere after Thanos wrecked it. In the background is the cocoon burst open. I believe this is where the Magus was released on the MCU. Meaning there is quite a Warlock movie coming.

The MCU likes to nerf all of their most powerful characters, because their writers don't actually know how to use them. I believe The Soul stone gives you the powers of the one who was sacrificed for the stone . Thanos fought like Gamora and now Adam Warlock has Ironman's powers . Question is how he got the stone ?

The MCU likes to nerf all of their most powerful characters, because their writers don't actually know how to use them. So however bad he might be, it will pale in comparison, and they will contradict everything they've written in previous movies, or even the same movie he's in, relating to him or his actions.
