At 37, with a troubled knee that went under knife just 58 days before finals, winning Olympics Gold, in his least preferred surface, in a do or die situation against a red hot player 16 years younger in straight sets and that too in the backdrop of being mauled by the the same player at Wimbledon is miraculous that defies logical explanation. And that too winning the Gold in style without losing a set against a line up of Nadal, Tstispas and Musetti - all clay court specialists, is a mammoth achievement unprecedented in the history of Tennis, male or female, in particular and in the annals of any sport. I can't think of any other achievement that can surpass this given the challenging circumstances and the extraordinary significance of the occasion that comes once in four years.
Tennis Streamers Assemble 🤣🤣🤣 love each of you guys Content very unique personalities and perspectives on tennis and various topics as a whole🙌🏽🙏🏽 Cheers to a great Continuity of Content for many years to come especially this incoming New Year of 2025💯
Fun convo! Forgot to mention Jannik Sinner's win streak after winning his first slam title... I don't have the actual numbers but early in the year, there was a buzz about how players don't usually go on a terminator win streak after winning their first slam, not even my goat Roger.
If you're going to pick Draper as a young player then Alcaraz should also be an option seeing as he is more than a year younger than Draper, and Sinner should arguably also be eligible as he is only a few months older. But I guess the fact that this was his first year on tour could make it an exception. Also I think Fonseca should be in for a shout, but the easiest way to determine the best young player is probably just to wait and see who wins the Next Gen finals. Loved the podcast btw.
The amount of major tennis events that we forget is wild. Thank you for reminding of the Djokovic water bottle incident. God the tennis season is so long lol
Are you guys gonna do the WTA Awards too? Hopefully with the same group. Cam's WTA Insights are incredible. And would also like to hear Gill's perspective as he rarely talks about WTA.
Carlos will be statistical no1 again especially after other players on tour learn how to play Sinner. I think Carlos has been overlooked for a phenomenal season. He prevailed through injuries (ankle and forearm), ups and downs and still added impressive records to his 21 year old tennis legacy.
On the ATP Best-of-three I agree. and that's why lost respect for Novak because he proclaimed the Olympic medal was the final cherry on top of his stellar career; then a few days later, he announces the wants more Grand Slams. Greedy!

Australian open also had the record of the longest tiebreak on record 22 - 20 or something in the ladies semis
It did yeah but not in the semis, earlier on in the tourney- Ryba vs Blinkova
Nice video Faizan!

can someone tell me what gill and faizan said at 1:06:27 ? i didnt hear what they were saying. something along the lines of "he's playing ....."
Gill thought we were doing the Best Player category but it was the Young Player category and Gill joked Jannik is young too! 😅
Funniest moment , Medvedev Monaco Masters shouting at the ref, Its ouuuut!!!!! its ouuuuut !!!!
🤣
Sorry to be that nit-picking comment, but it was the 2nd round Alcaraz was upset by VdZ not 3rd. But I love all you guys!!
You are right!
Surprised no mention of the Indian Wells bees for most outrageous moment!
Haha very good shout!
shelton vs tiafoe us open r32 was pure box office
Definitely entertaining!
I would’ve gone between the RG final (Alcaraz vs Zverev) or AO SF (Zverev vs Medvedev). AO final was good but not great imo
That's fair!
100% JANNIK SINNER best player of the year

Sinner also played 25% more matches than Carlos and Carlos is whining about the schedule.
Alcaraz Who ? Sinner is so much better than Carlos.
Hater who?
