Britains figures etc. were the prize for kids like myself in the 70's in the UK. I am 58 now, and one of the Britains figures, (French Napoleonic soldier) that I played with as a child, is on my bedroom dresser today.
Great interview, met Ken at the Xmas 2023 London toy soldier show,WBritians have some great new soldiers for sale at present.Ken is a great guy and very passionate about the hobby.
You used to be a cop, that's awesome. I collect a little police figurines too, I even have a security guard in my hoard, I got it for 2 reasons, 1 is that some security are trained by special forces and can carry firearms and 2 my friend is a door man, he was like me. He wanted to join the British army but couldn't because of autism.
We would love to do an Airfix video, so many cool figures in that line, and follow it up with a video on Matchbox figures, but honestly we we don't know about them to do it! Thanks for watching.
I think these are fantastic and appreciate the artistry but wish that W. Britains would re-release more Deetails WWII with more figures and detail. Make some that are fun for kids and adults again so there are collectors in the future. Otherwise it might die with GenX.
A great point. We talked to Ken about this and he does have some thoughts on it (including if other of the old molds are available). We have that for part 2 of the interview, coming soon. Thanks
@@collectorguys Awesome! Look forward to that video. Love all the stuff you guys are doing on Britains. Made me want to finish what I started as a kid.
Ken is Great, I've had the great pleasure to meet and talk with him on 3 occasions!
We had the same experience with him!
Love this interview! I have had Britains since the 1970's. I kept the British Regiments and display them in a glass curio.
Sounds like a great collection! Thanks for watching.
Love, love, love Britains!

That is a great memory. Were glad to hear that he has survived to be a reminder of those days.

Agree, he has been very friendly and helpful to us over the years!

@@collectorguys Thanks, it's one of my hobbies!
@@collectorguys I got myself a Prussin lieutenant and a 1st lt cavalry US officer today, cost me £10.
Love britans but can you make a video of airfix HO/OO

Good video, but back ground music and voices very distracting.
Thanks, we used software to reduce that, but this was shot in the middle of a busy trade room. Check out the newer interview, it is cleaner audio.

Is it me , or does he sound at times like he considers himself kind of elitist?
@@bananabrooks3836 Honestly I have always witnessed him to be very friendly and engaging with everyone at shows.
Still doing what you do best, Ken…Farmer
