You know... I don't pay any attention to John's loses, because they doesn't matter. He has no need to prove anything to anyone, he did it a long time ago. I'm just happy he's still competing and doing what he loves... Long live the GOAT

Yeah, it sucks watching John lose. I only watched the first round against John vs Todd, John vs Sasho and now this. People usually give John excuses when he loses. Was there an excuse here? Getting sick before the match? Only having 1 work out? They did joke about it during the press conference and in coach ray’s interview. John has nothing to prove though. It would be nice to see him win and his stock go up. The sport grows when John wins.

And I get it.... when you are older and reached your achievements it is not worth to get injured because your focus in life shifted to other things. Being healthy is one of them.

Being 61 myself I know the struggles to maintain a former fitness. To still be respectable at this level is nothing short of astounding for the GOAT. Props to John for always giving his best. And to Krasimir, well-earned victory, sir.

I’m the same age as John and I can’t believe he’s still competing at this level. The aches and pains and stiffness are always present and I still stay in pretty good shape.

Ever since john got sick a while back he has been a shell of his former self. He can't redline anymore and he can't keep his breath.

Ohhhh I just can't watch it again, it rips my heart apart lol. It sure ain't no fun watching Brzenk lose, he ain't one to take easy matches but I sure wished he would take a little bit easier matches. Just seems like that COVID and post COVID issues have taken a lot out of him :(

It is a bit sad to watch Brzenk lose. He was climbing the ladder well, right up until beating Corey West!! Now it is hard to go back down the ladder and start climbing again - and risk losing to guys further down.

I find it funny that other armwrestlers are giving advices to John what he should do, the guy has been competing for 40 years, he is probably the most experienced armwrestler and he knows what he should do, its just that he is getting older and doesnt have that kind of strength/endurance anymore to utilize his experience on the table.
No matter how good you are, you don't see the full picture when you're out there. The input from other experienced people is always helpful.

Right away in the first round one understands that John doesn't have much stamina now. Which is very understandable...
That holding capability in a match that's required to transition from one move to another, that's really missing now.
And I have observed that in almost all of his latest matches....
From Ongerbaev to Todd hutchings to irakli to denis or krasimir, etc.
John's stamina is really compromised now.
But still John is the GOAT and just nothing can take that away from him.

Crazy that John's hook was actually matching up well. If he had the endurance, he should've tried staying inside. Krasi said he felt the most uncomfortable in the first round.
I wish John would've let go with his bottom fingers and pronated hard when he was in a halfway king's move. It's like he's just too old school to give away his hand for it.
