    I’m trying to wire up a broken one I found. Which wires go to the capacitor from the fan motor (#18) is it blue/blue or blue/white ?

    Thank you, thank you, thank you! We were on dehumidifier for two days...LOL! Finally on air conditioning now. Just by viewing your manual we now can use it again. Hard to remember when we only use it for air each year and turn off for the winter.

    Thank you! I got one of these units refurbished but it didn't come with the exhaust tube adapter. This allowed me to identify a part online that I think will work.

    Thanks so much for posting your user manual. I have the 13,000 BTU a/c, heater, dehumidifier unit. I bought it used. It's been working fabulously until today. I came home and found it not working and had a small panic attack. There was this little mult rectangle code on the front that I had no clue what it meant. Thankfully, I was able to figure out it needed to have the bottom tank emptied. With the combo unit, it has two drains. Now, I know the top drain is for a/c and the bottom drain is for heat.

      You're welcome. And thank you for sharing information about the Idylis that has a heater. I've had a couple of comments recently on this video and the "main" video that have mentioned that heater and I didn't know what they were talking about. Now I do and can direct them to the 13,000 BTU model.

    SO I am having trouble connecting my hose that goes out the window to the machine and I am thinking that I may be missing the adaptor part can you possibly send me a picture of that and the part number. I couldn't exactly make it out on the video. I also need another extension piece for the window can you send me that part number as well? Much appreciated

      Lauren Hamilton it's a screw on, lol Trust it had me confused too! Stupid design flaw vs just snapping in place!
      Fold the hose ,then screw in ,then retract the hose,stays in place!

    Thank you! Saved me having to sign up and divulge my email to sites for a copy of the manual, although it still doesn't address my concern as to why my dehumdifier still isn't working. I put it on dehumidify, the fan kicks down to low, though no water comes out of the drain pipe, the little drain at the bottom of the unit is empty, and all it does is click the a/c on and off as needed. I don't understand why the a/c would continue to click on and off when its in dehumidify mode, or is it designed to continue to control the room temp? Either way, it's way too humid in my room, and it's not working for me.

    How come my 120000 btu`s idylis portable a.c is stuck at 80 when I set it for 61? My room is on 42 hundred square feet?

    • @DanOConnorTech
      @DanOConnorTech  9 років тому

      Mikey Souza I think you mean 142 square feet? Do you feel cold air coming out of the vents? Do you hear the compressor running? Do you have the fan speed set to "high"? Triple check that the Idylis is running in AC mode - you should see what they call a "snowflake" on the display. If the Idylis is only accidentally in "dehumidify" mode or "fan" mode your room won't get cooler. Also make sure your room is sealed off well and the door is closed. Just some ideas.

    • @mikeysouza7678
      @mikeysouza7678 9 років тому

      Ok bro. I guess it's ok now. And yes it's blowing cold air now. I had It running from 8:00 pm to 155 am its in the 68 degrees now. How much ruefully is it going to increase my electronic bill in a month? I've in Hawaii. I don't know if electronic is less expensive then the mainland? I heard portable a.c`s suck more energy then regularly a.c units?

    • @DanOConnorTech
      @DanOConnorTech  9 років тому

      Mikey Souza Here's a way to get an idea of what your electricity costs will be. Find out how much your utility charges for electricity in kilowatts/hour. It's probably on their website, or call them.The Idylis uses _about_ 1120 watts (depending on your incoming voltage). Then go online and search for a utility cost calculator. Enter the watts and kwatt/hr cost and how long you'll run your Idylis each day. The calculator will spit out various costs including $$$ per month. Rough estimate probably will be $25 - $50 month depending on how many hours a day you run it.

    How tight/loose should the plug on the drain hose be? It says it's designed for continuous drainage outlet to avoid leakage. I bought this used so I don't have the manual. I just finally realized, after using it for a few weeks, that the container I was having the water go into wasn't filling up! So I loosened the connector piece, but now it's dripping out from the plug a bit. Help, please!

    • @DanOConnorTech
      @DanOConnorTech  6 років тому

      I haven't needed to use this Idylis for some years now, but if I remember correctly if you're using it on AC mode it doesn't collect water in the unit, it sprays it out the window hose. Mine never collected any water and I never used the water hose. I would guess keep it tight enough to not leak if you're going to use it.

    • @graywoulf
      @graywoulf 5 років тому

      Is that really possible? I just bought one from a friend and I have the manual but it does not say anything about the collected water being sprayed out of the window vent hose.

    It worked great for us... except I totally agree about the stupid drain thing... it should have feet that allow you to raise it up higher for draining... or come with a platform or something. Do you know if this is one that cab be used as a heater too? I thought I read that somewhere.

    • @DanOConnorTech
      @DanOConnorTech  9 років тому

      Nope, not a heater (though some people say all their units do is blow out hot air!)

    • @DealsFromMSDodotcom
      @DealsFromMSDodotcom 9 років тому

      +Nikole Nikki The 13,000 BTU a/c unit that I have is a combo a/c, heat, dehumidifier. I agree, the drain is crazy, with it being against the floor. There is another video, by another gentleman showing how to make a drain hose for the heat portion of the unit for the Idylis 416711. I think it would probably work for what you're needing.
      I have a different a/c, heat unit combo that has a single drain. I have it set up on top of an old wooden VCR platform thing. It's just basically like a small desktop podium, but it was made to house a VCR, DVD, etc. on top of a wooden TV entertainment center.
      Hope this helps.

    I bought this used and in a move I lost the window exhuast portion (exhaust tube and panel it goes into for window), anyone know where I can purchase another one or how wide the tube needs to be? is it a 6 inch opening, 5 or 4?? TIA!!

    • @DanOConnorTech
      @DanOConnorTech  8 років тому

      The hose is actually connected to a larger plastic coupler before it meets the window panel. The hose circumference (approx.) is about 16.25" and the plastic piece at the panel that it inserts into is about 17.25". I kind of eyeball the hose diameter at about 5.25".

    Does the idylis 416709 model need water and if so where is the water tank to fill? Can’t find anywhere to put the water???

    • @dvdny
      @dvdny 4 роки тому

      Does not need water, it takes water out of the air. In A/C mode, it tries to send water (vapor) out through the window hose. If there's too much water build-up, you might have to empty the tank. The tank is also for dehumidifier operation (window hose not needed for dehumidifier operation).
