Big up the dude at the front that's heavy into the performance, love seeing that
That's me!
If you're ever in LA and headed to a Bob show let me know!
Seeing Janek stand up and play doing his Chicken Dance he should get a gig playing with guitarist Dean Brown another famous for his Chicken Dance. LOL
Thanks for posting this! I was at last year's Retreat but couldn't make it this year. Attending vicariously through the internet this week.
I also love the change from "Feedback" being in a funk four to being n seven and that awesome progression at the end!
Dude in the front row was GETTIN' DOWN!
That was me my man!
If you're ever in LA and headed to a Bob show let me know!
Matthew LeSueur hell yeah! I visit LA every now and then. I'd love to catch Bob and Janek for sure!
janek, keith white aka k-dub here. we met @ your ATL bass gallery clinic. (i work @ the store) @ any r8, thanks 4 the vid. i helped build Wooten Woods & it's been a minute since i've been back there. the aerial view of camp was awesome. that place is special. if u here the story 'bout the cat who found his bass blind-folded......uh, that'd b me! safe travels. peecnlub, k-dub
I just saw Wooten with the Flecktones the other nigh at Wolf Trap in VA. They opened for Chick Corea and the Elektric band. Both were great. Patituci was playing his custom 6 string by Yamaha.
I so wish I could be back there!
That was fantastic
That dude is loving the music... Nice!
If you're talking about the cat in the audience, that was me!
If you're ever in LA and headed to a Bob show let me know!
haha, nice! Will do, man! Cheers!
Outstanding feel on the looper sectn. Have to say I so much prefer Shaun on this tune --the kick syncopation swings over Teddy's 1,2 rock-oriented foot on the july 26 B.P. nite.
[ I tripped over the complete tune frm that night (''Feedback"?) on YTbe, recorded by someone who must've been sitting right in front of Sue and I. Pretty decent audio, + I stereoized & enhanced the EQ for better listening & practice purposes.
(...Wonder how he/she got past the '0" pics^n^vids' sign on the stage! ) ]
Your bassline feel and choice of notes is iconic, really super. And...y'all managed to 'keep the life' in the tune after all those multiple plays. What a classic composition. So, kudos all 'round to you & to Bob. And Shaun.
a while ago you mentioned in passing putting together a live band to explore your solo music - watching this can't help feeling that would be such a good idea..... (just catching up on your vlog since I've been away - so much good music this week!)
@Janek Gwizdala If you don' mind, Im working on transcribing these solos. They're beastly!
The lick 6:34
Holy moly I need an OC-2
One of the best.
Has anyone ever pointed out your bass leg moves look like you're playing tennis? Rewatch 9.00 if you don't believe me
Hahaha. Great observation!
Will Scott-Hartley haha! I was thinking the same thing! That's the REAL reason he hits the court everyday...to get that bassin' stank leg in shape!
Great observation!
11:30 lmao
The Lick at 3:06 sincerely made me laugh
And they say Bass Players show no enthusiasm. LOL! WRONG!
I love that you always use i - VII - iv - (insert Dominant cadency to I ) loops in your solos,
Are you tuned down half step?
Mostly in Ab minor, any particular reason for this tonality??
hahahi love how into it the guy in the middle was
That was me!
What’s the name of the song they’re playing ?
Damn
who is the guitarist? please!
Nir Felder
Matthew LeSueur thanks man!
Pierwszy!
