- When we convert a fraction, like 3/5 to a percent, we’re asking “What percentage is 3 of 5 ?”
To figure this take the Part (3) divided by the Whole (5) x 100.
Part/Whole x 100 = ___ %
So we divide 3 by 5 and multiply by 100 to convert 3/5 to a percent. When we do that, we find that 3/5 is 60%. That means if you take 3/5 of something you are taking 60%.
Note that the fraction 3/5 is less than one so we should have a percentage less than 100%. This is a helpful way to check your work.

1. Divide the numerator and denominator to get a decimal.
2. Multiply the fraction to get the percent value.

u can also do like this:
3 by 5 into 100 then multiply 3 into 100 which becomes 300 by 5 then u cut 300 by 5 which becomes 60%.
A 2nd way to do.
It sounds a bit more complicated but if you consistently get the right answer you should be okay. That's the interesting thing about fractions and percents: there are lots of ways to do the calculations!

@@DrBs-Other-Channel Yeaaa there is sure a lot of ways sir! even over 10,20,40,50, etc. (And if you see what ever number the number of calculations is present like only 10 are present but and I went over it and its false, well I am correct in my numbers because in the future, inventions happen. :D)
And oh yes mathematics is my favorite subject! (My parents become disappointed if I get 50 out of 80 or 60 that's how much favorite it is for me and if for proof go down to this dud @idaraakpan3722 and look at my explanation big essay!)

Well, this @riyalaishangbam747 is not explaining right so heres my explanation:
So, it's confusing to pull a random number correctly without making the decimal 100 like what if u put 25/2 can you get the percentage from that without multiplying? no, so when he multiplied the decimal, he multiplies the numerator too, so the value stays the same! But bro what if you don't multiply it? Then simply you get the wrong answer, Example: A boss who makes other feel shame says you to solve this 3/5 fraction into percentage and bring the amount of *whatever item, food, etc.* and you just multiply the decimal by 20 which becomes 20 into 5 or 20x5 which becomes 100 then you just ignore the numerator which the answer becomes 3/100 and when you convert it into percentage it becomes 3%? so, boss wants you to bring 3% of 5 *whatever blah blah* so you just calculate its mass and get 3% of it, then when you give it to your boss and then you get shamed and embarrassed for rest of your life!
