Received by email today. Loaded them into my K2661 (with the K2k-->K2661 converter patch). I am very impressed. Very deep VAST programming and excellent use of the Mod Wheel and Data Slider. The pads are uniformly excellent and some of them are outstanding. It is clear that a lot of work went into programming these sounds. I don't have a K2000 set up right now so I can hear what these sound like with the Digitech effects, but given my experience with the translation from .krz to .k26, I would think that these would sound equally good, if not better, in non-KDFX systems. At any rate, this is a very worthy purchase for anybody with a Kxxx or PC3Kx instrument. You will not be disappointed if you buy them. In fact, these sounds are, without a doubt, among the best of any available. For sounds not using original samples, some of these ARE the best available!
Glad to hear that you like these sounds. I tried to get the most out of the VAST engine. I’ve recently got this soundset for K2600x. Very clever programming - a lot of effort must have been put into creating this soundset! Mostly pads (good ones!), but that’s ok with me. Sounds use effects heavily. Haven’t found any issues with K2600 compatibility. Of course, would be nice to have more controllers pre-assigned (K2600 has 8 sliders, large ribbon etc.), but K2000 had no those, so no complaint here. Fixable by user 🙂 Overall, very satisfied with this set! Also, it is very good for learning VAST programming/tricks. 👍
Glad to hear that you liked the K-POWER sounds and everything is working fine. Yes, many nights were spent compiling all the layers, modulation sources and destinations, DSP parameters, but I enjoy doing these things my whole life. Mostly pads there, because that's my favorite type of sounds (as well as ambient). My K2000 only has one controller slider (CC#6), so many sounds have a second modulation on the ModWheel (CC#1) to make the sounds more flexible and lively. It can be assigned to LFO speed, FUNs, envelope times, filters, DSP parameters, etc. Feel free to experiment with the 8 sliders on your K2600 and it will be a good way to learn more about the VAST architecture. Thanks Serhiy for the feedback and stay tuned because my next (and possibly last) soundbank called K-PLANET will be launched soon! Cheers
Hi mate! I'm glad you liked this :) K2000 synth is still pretty cheap, if you compare with Yamaha EX5 or FS1R, Roland JD990 or Ensoniq Fizmo. I'm looking for these, just the price... Actually the K2000 is more powerful imho!

@@ish233 Wow, you have an SQR synth :) Familiar to me because I got the SQ1 board in mid-90s and played for several years. Then I changed it to TS-10, which is much more powerful with 4 very important updates compared to SQ, that is - much better FX processor, more Transwaves, Hyperwave function (same as Wavestation wave sequencing) and ability to read and edit EPS/ASR samples. Great synth, very smooth and comfy, but when I heard the Kurzweil K2000 first time... I changed TS-10 to the K2000. And still have it, probably forever :)

oscillator hi, finally my K2000r is back. Is This sound pack easy to install ? Have already replaced the floppy for a pendrive disk. Not too techie myself...maybe the pack comes with detailed instructions ? Thanks for any help
@@chatolars So your K2000 is back, good news :) My Kurz also is upgraded with USB-Floppy Emulator and there is no any problems to load this patch collection from pendrive. You just need to copy the KRZ file with patches to the pendrive and load from there into K2000. Simple! And yes, there are also instructions in package, of course. Cheers!
Hello MAIA , it's so nice to hear from you :) Yes, this synth can produce some really sweet tones and I tried to get out the best of it in this collection. Happy New Year also to you, Sincerely !
Yes, it is one of the VAST functions (DSP blocks) called WRAP/DIST/SHAPER/SYNC etc that gives distortion. Added waveforms such as Square and Saw also create a "dirty" sound. At the same time, the K2000 can sound very clean, but this is not interesting to me, because there are a lot of synths around with a sterile sound. I love Kurzweil because it allows me to create ANY sound I want. But this is a matter of taste, of course.
Greetings!¡ & Salutations¡! oscillator sds: As posted many times {on other forum(s)} from me before these K2k sounds are THE BEST on the planet; speaking of which do you (is there¿) a link for your K-Planet collection of sounds for download, purchase or both just got a new device would like tooo break it in with your latest stuff. thanx once again dude
Thanks man, I really appreciate this! That's why I'm creating a second collection of sounds called K-PLANET, and it will be released soon. Anyway, you can buy K-PLANET sounds if you contact me at this email: oscillatorsds@gmail.com
K26xx series are fully compatible with K-POWER file. There is no need for sample RAM at all, because all K-POWER patches are based on standard ROM waveforms. You can simply copy the K-POWER file on SM card and load into your K2661.
The best way to get thru the Kurz is to sit to the front of the synth and to have a user's manual besides. Seriously - step-by-step to learn the chapters of the manual about modes, editing levels and DSP algorithms is the fastest way to understand this wonderful synth.
I don't know about PC4, but it should be similar to PC3 model. This what Kurzweil website says about PC3: PC3K Samples and File Compatability ----------------------------------------------------------- The PC3K includes the ability to load files from previous Kurzweil instruments such as the K2000, K2500, and K2600. RAM sample compatibility is 100%, while the majority of K-series Programs, Setups, and Keymaps are also compatable (about 80%). Most K series Program objects can be loaded, but effects are not converted and must be set by the user. A reverb effect is set by default for converted Programs. I can send a few K2000 patches for test on PC4. If you can load and play them, that means also K-POWER patches will work. Effect settings will be ignored, of course, but you can set them manually from screenshots of K-POWER effect parameters. There are 10 effects used in K-POWER, mostly some basic chorus, reverb and delay algorithms. Please give me your email to send the test patches to you. Cheers
Are these still for sale? Can't seem to find them on the eBay link at Matrixsynth. Would love to have them. As others have stated they are extraordinary.
The K-POWER patches were done on K2000 model and they are fully compatible with K2000, K2500 and K2600 models. The PC3K is compatible to load files from previous Kurzweil instruments such as the K2000, K2500, and K2600. Most K series Program objects can be loaded, but effects are not converted and must be set by the user. A reverb effect is set by default for converted Programs. Many PC3K users have successfully loaded the K-POWER file, no complaints about the missing Samples or Keymaps. However, I can definitely say that you have to enter the effect parameters manually on your PC3K. The K-POWER collection is based on 10 effect presets, so it is easy to enter the effect settings manually into PC3K to re-create original effects of K2000 synth. I can provide the original K2000 effects settings as screenshots, so this should not be a problem, if you're familiar with basic PC3K editing.
I don't know exactly how many K2700 owners bought the K-POWER collection. I know from the feedback that K2000, K2500 and K2600 users do not have any problems to use it. PC3 users also can load it without problems, only effects parameters must be entered manually. Everything else is fully compatible, so I guess that it should be compatible also with K2700, but I can not tell for sure. You can check what KURZWEIL official website say about K2700 compatibility with KRZ files: kurzweil.com/2021/09/28/k2700-file-compatibility/ As you can see, the K2700 can load KRZ program files, some parameters may need to be edited after loading.
It is possible to load these patches as SYX file from the computer, or use floppy drive on whitch is native KRZ file copied on. No samples or sampled waveforms are used in K-POWER patch bank, so it is no need for sampling option.
.. tried any of the VST Modular software synths (which would be unaffordable to all but Rick Wakeman ;) .. VAZ, although somewhat aged, offers essentially limitless possibilities. Even to the extent of Logic and Causality centred composition .....
VAZ looks very pretty tool. I don't use VSTs, I'm into hardware stuff because there is no need to integrate them into DAW. All my synths are pluged to the audio mixer and controlled by MIDI. Simplicity gives me more freedom :)
Interesting .. I'm completely software based .. I just find it more interestingly random .. and software synths integrate more conveniently into DAW parameters .. I ain't cutting up no more synth samples .. manually! ;)
VST things are very impressive nowadays, I've checked some like NI Absynth and Serum - they are same powerful as hardware synths. Properly integrated into DAW they can make wonders, no doubt. Just I'm oldskool guy, I started with Yamaha DX thirty years ago so I'm thinking hardware... This is a big problem for me to decide between Cubase, Sonar and EnergyXT which DAW is better for me :) The things will go even worse if I will start to connect VST plugins into DAW :)
The K2700 can load the .KRZ files created by the K2000, however there are a few differences to be aware of: 1. When loading KRZ files, objects are converted to K2700 object types, and will often sound very close or the same as on the original instrument. 2. Most K2000 Program objects can be loaded, but some object parameters cannot be converted and must be replaced manually by editing the Program and selecting a different factory Keymap. 3. FX cannot be converted and must be edited after loading. Parameter info names and some controller assignments may need to be edited after loading. 4. A small number of DSP algorithms and functions (some filters, oscillators, etc.) cannot be loaded, so Program layers may need to be edited to compensate for this. Summary: K2000 programs are not 100% compatible with the K2700 series. You must be familiar with K2700 editing in order to load K2000 series KRZ files.
Very nice sounds. Question? Are these patches using the old Digitech or newer kdfx fx? You don't clarify and I reckon they would sound different on a k2000 compared to a k2600
Everything is recorded from audio outputs of the K2VX model, which is basically same K2000. No external FX processing, no additional synths or samples.
The K-POWER patch bank was created in the KRZ format which is native to the K2000, but the K2500 / K2600 can load KRZ files without any problem. Many people use K-POWER sounds on the K2500 and K2600 synthesizers, no one has reported any problems. If you would like to buy these patches, please contact me at oscillatorsds@gmail.com
How much do theese patches rely on internal fx chip,? If I buy them, they will mostly load in PC3(K), but without fx. I wonder how much of their appeal would be lost without fx?
For all patches I used standard reverb (~5 sec) and chorus. Some FX are reverb+delay. Actually nothing special about FX part, I added just to make the sound more sweet and spacious. This is what I found about compatibility: The PC3K includes the ability to load files from previous Kurzweil instruments such as the K2000, K2500, and K2600. RAM sample compatibility is 100%, while the majority of K-series Programs, Setups, and Keymaps are also compatable (about 80%). Most K series Program objects can be loaded, but effects are not converted and must be set by the user. A reverb effect is set by default for converted Programs. Program objects that use the K series ROM soundset can be converted after installation of the optional K2661 ROM compatibility file(available as a free download from www.kurzweil.com.)
Beautiful sounds, I've recently have made some songs using the k2000. Is it normal for there to be a hissing sound when the effects are on? Because whenever I turn them off the hiss goes away and it's a shame because I lovvvvee the effects.
K2000 model uses Digitech 256 FX processor, which is very durable against fails. Actually some noise is normal, especially for flangers and phazers. Try to change the FX level in EFFECT page - hissing noise should dissapear if you turn Wet/Dry Mix to zero. Normally it should be around 40%. Also check the "Adjust" parameter in F4 AMP page - it should be around 0dB. Take a look on front panel of your synth - keep the Volume slider up and turn down the input level of your amplifier or speakers. This will reduce the noise floor radically. If it does not help, you can try to "hard reset" your synth and even more - turn off your K2000, remove batteries, unplug power cable and leave the synth for 24 hours. This completely will reset everything, including capacitors and semiconductors.
@@_oscillator Sorry for being not that precise. So, You did use ROM samples. How are Your patches dealing with aliasing? Appart from K2 series wayeform samples, K2 series DSP oscillators do suffer from aliasing in higher registers. From what I've heard in demo, there is no "much" trace of aliasing.
@@joskomestrov-uroda4012 I never had a problem with aliasing (or I just do not hear this). The only limit for me is polyphony, which is 24 voices for K2000. Later models such as k2500 and K2600 had 48 voices instead.

Cheers
Oohhhhhhh yeahhhhhhh, almost picked one up couple weeks ago, someone beat me to it on ebay. Awesome sounds, glad to hear you're still in the game
Hi mate! I'm glad you liked this :) K2000 synth is still pretty cheap, if you compare with Yamaha EX5 or FS1R, Roland JD990 or Ensoniq Fizmo. I'm looking for these, just the price... Actually the K2000 is more powerful imho!
@@_oscillator I'm sure, its deep, it's why I want one. You convinced me years back, and I looked into it further. I'm still looking out for fs1r, want to mess around with the formant synthesis. I definitely have a few in mind to absolutley collect. Those you mentioned are all really good. I'll have to post some sounds and tunes here again
@@ish233 I have 6 synths at the moment: Kurzweil K2VX, E-mu Morpheus, E-mu UltraProteus, Kawai K5000R, Korg Wavestation SR and Waldorf Blofeld. They are all amazing. I would like also to have EX5R, JD900 and Fizmo, but only for very, very low price :) Coz that's enough for me the synths I already have.
@@_oscillator you have a good line up, and still more to possibly come. I.have a few I'm on the look out for still, but recently got into some eurorack modules. I wanted to try it out, I haven't messed around with that really yet in synthesizer world, will also post some of that too. I also got two of my synths battery updated, so that'll be fun to start making sounds a d saving them with those, Ensoniq SqR (rack) and yamaha YS 200, as well more tunes with Morpheus, Alesis, and surprise synths.
Wow ... great patches ... 🙂😊😀

oscillator hi, finally my K2000r is back.
Cheers!

good sounds, but buzzing at high frequencies is annoying, is this a feature of vast?

Hi I just bought a k2661 and 128 of sample ram as well as the smart media card is that all I need to load these in?
K26xx series are fully compatible with K-POWER file. There is no need for sample RAM at all, because all K-POWER patches are based on standard ROM waveforms. You can simply copy the K-POWER file on SM card and load into your K2661.
@@_oscillator thank you will email you now
hey oscillator can you recommend any resources to best learn the k2000/2500 series? i just got one from ebay and i'm wanting to learn it inside out
The best way to get thru the Kurz is to sit to the front of the synth and to have a user's manual besides. Seriously - step-by-step to learn the chapters of the manual about modes, editing levels and DSP algorithms is the fastest way to understand this wonderful synth.
So where's the link to get them? I hope to find those classic Prophet V Poly-Mod sounds, used a lot by Lyle Mays (falling pitches, helis etc.)
Please contact me: oscillatorsds@gmail.com
How can I get a hold of this collection?
Please contact me: oscillatorsds@gmail.com
Can these be used in the PC4?
I don't know about PC4, but it should be similar to PC3 model. This what Kurzweil website says about PC3:
PC3K Samples and File Compatability
-----------------------------------------------------------
The PC3K includes the ability to load files from previous Kurzweil instruments such as the K2000, K2500, and K2600.
Cheers
Interesting!

wow nice programs :-) Is it possible to get these programs for my Pc3k6?
How to get these ?
Please contact me: oscillatorsds@gmail.com
Hello and thanks you as always oscillator. Exellent works. Where can we download the preset man?
Please check your email
Cheers
Thanks.Not for the K2700?
I don't know exactly how many K2700 owners bought the K-POWER collection. I know from the feedback that K2000, K2500 and K2600 users do not have any problems to use it. PC3 users also can load it without problems, only effects parameters must be entered manually. Everything else is fully compatible, so I guess that it should be compatible also with K2700, but I can not tell for sure.
You can check what KURZWEIL official website say about K2700 compatibility with KRZ files:
kurzweil.com/2021/09/28/k2700-file-compatibility/
As you can see, the K2700 can load KRZ program files, some parameters may need to be edited after loading.
Is this patch set still available?
Yes, you can buy this. Please contact me: oscillatorsds@gmail.com
How can i buy those patches?
Yes, you can buy these patches. Please contact me: oscillatorsds@gmail.com
How do you load them? Do I need to have the sampler version? I have the k2600 no sampler
It is possible to load these patches as SYX file from the computer, or use floppy drive on whitch is native KRZ file copied on. No samples or sampled waveforms are used in K-POWER patch bank, so it is no need for sampling option.
@@_oscillator thanks I’ll certainly be buying a few packs and I’ll need to load via the midi app.
@@SanctuaryLife You can use MIDI-OX or SendSX software for that.
.. tried any of the VST Modular software synths (which would be unaffordable to all but Rick Wakeman ;) ..
This is a big problem for me to decide between Cubase, Sonar and EnergyXT which DAW is better for me :) The things will go even worse if I will start to connect VST plugins into DAW :)
.. well here's another option .. I've been using FL studio for over 20 years. It emerged from a drum sequencer into a very capable and intuitive DAW.
@@_oscillator oh PS.. NI are just about the BEST .. their modules are syntheticaly modelled down to circuit level.
Can these be loaded in the new K2700 ?
The K2700 can load the .KRZ files created by the K2000, however there are a few differences to be aware of:
@@_oscillator OK. Thanks for the reply.
Very nice sounds. Question? Are these patches using the old Digitech or newer kdfx fx? You don't clarify and I reckon they would sound different on a k2000 compared to a k2600
This demo was recorded on my K2000 model, so only Digitech FX used there. It's very basic, but I like simplicity and I like how it sounds. Cheers

Hi guy! Just amazing. Can I get the patch somewhere so I can revive my old K2500x? thx
I sent you an email.
which kurzweil did you record this demo on?
Everything is recorded from audio outputs of the K2VX model, which is basically same K2000. No external FX processing, no additional synths or samples.
@@_oscillator sounds great!
Hi, your patches sound very nice. Where I can buy those in K2661 format?
This is what I found about compatibility:
The PC3K includes the ability to load files from previous Kurzweil instruments such as the K2000,
K2500, and K2600. RAM sample compatibility is 100%, while the majority of K-series Programs, Setups,
and Keymaps are also compatable (about 80%).
Most K series Program objects can be loaded, but effects are not converted and must be set by the
user. A reverb effect is set by default for converted Programs.
Program objects that use the K series ROM soundset can be converted after installation of the
optional K2661 ROM compatibility file(available as a free download from www.kurzweil.com.)

Not sure. It's fully compatible with K2000/2500/2600 series. Also with PC3K (except the effects section). The PC4 and K2700 is unknown.

Well, this is really, really good. Did You use samples and/or DSP oscillators for "analog" sounds?
No samples used - the goal was to create patches only based on ROM waves. DSP oscillators are used of course, as part of VAST synthesis.
@@_oscillator Yeah, I know about poly. I had K2661, and now own PC3K. Planning to move to Forte, now that it received mayor upgrade with FM capabilities.
