Thought this might helps: Botanica was invented by Alexander Panos and he has multiple Ableton MaxMSP Plug-Ins as well, probably amazing to combine with your synth! Which looks very neat :)
I didn't finished your video, I never watched a video of you before, but I can already tell, that you are an underrated creator. :) With love, from germany
It is best to not put your own abstractions into the `plugdata/Abstractions` folder, since it will be overwritten on the next plugdata update. You should add a new folder to the path for keeping your own abstractions in, outside of plugdata directories.
this is wicked. in terms of features i'd like to see, maybe a sequencer for the octave and rhythm controls? that way we can create our own patterns for it. Can't wait to try this synth!
At first I was aiming for total randomness, but you're absolutely right that a bit of control could be helpful. Thanks for your advice. Currently I'm working on its first update so keep an eye on my Patreon page during the coming days. Curious to hear what you think once you've tried it :)
Very nice tool and very good job. I've seen the new version and there is some scale definition possibility. I think they are in C. or am I wrong? Thank you for what you make.
Hey thanks! v1.1 has improved arpeggio mode and scale selector (all scales start from C). With the next update I'm planning to add transposition so you can play on every key :)
hi. beginner question here: when working in a DAW is there a way to automate sliders, knobs, buttons, etc. in plugdata using the DAW's automation parameters? I want automate a few controls in this plugin. Thanks!
Hey, I am currently working on version 1.2.0, which will include automations and key selection features. I plan to upload it this week so keep an eye open on my Patreon page :)
Botanica sounds like a pointless genre, but the synth is great! Your videos keep reminding me I need to learn Pd properly but I never seem to get round to it. The synth sounds like it's pinging bandpass filters, am I right? I've made very similar sounds using polyphonic LFOs and effects (basically multichannel) in VCV Rack. I'd like to explore this idea in Pd, so I'll definitely be downloading this and having a look. Cheers!
Hey, thank you! Once you learn Pd you'll never go back because you can literally design anything. What a good ear, you're right Photosynthesis is based on resonant filters :) Can't wait to hear your thoughts after downloading it! P.S. I'm planning to upload v1.1.0 very soon (general improvement, extra features, richer "light" sound and much more). Keep an eye on my Patreon page 👀
@@SoundCodex thanks, I'll download it tonight. I have a very specific idea I want to implement with Pd, but I've only made basic effects so far. It does seem very powerful if you get into it.
I'm using version 1.2.0 and I'm not getting any output both from plugdata by itself or in my daw. I've checked my audio output settings and they're correct. Any suggestions? Thank you for making this! edit: i can get audio output with version 1.1.0, but still nothing from 1.2.0
Hey, try this: Main Menu (top left corner) Settings Audio Beside "Audio Output" you should see the "test" button. Press it. You should hear a sine tone meaning that pd is working properly. If not, check the routing directly on your daw, maybe your track is not set correctly to receive audio.
@@SoundCodex double checked both. I hear the sine tone from the audio test and made sure my daw was routed properly. In both cases I was able to get audio from 1.1.0 but nothing from 1.2.0. I've tried twisting all knobs and sliders I could see, but is there something within the plugin itself I could be missing?
New music genres need time to grow and mature. I think we'll have to wait a bit before this one reaches its full potential or disappears complitely 😅 In the meantime, I'm experimenting to see what it has to offer!

Glad to see that plugdata is getting more recognition as a dev environment for plugins, great work!
I couldn't agree more. Plugdata is incredible

More plugdata PLEASE!! yes
As you wish! Consider it done :)

Haha thanks for your comment man!
You're not the first person to tell me that. The algorithm is mad at me 🤖
This looks like an incredibly fun toy. Can't believe you're giving it out for free, it looks like it took a ton of work! Well done.
Yea it is! Thanks for you comment

It's surprising how many plural nouns I overlooked in this video 😅
this is so cool and GUI so cute! ty for sharing this and for the detailed tutorial on plugdata:)
I'm glad you like it :)
Another genius banger! Thanks a lot for your work!
I'm glad you enjoyed it

Is there any chance you'll be creating this plugin in VST format? We're not big fans of plugdata.
Hey, not for now (or the near future) but loading the patch in version 1.2 is super easy! Check it out: ua-cam.com/video/yd7Ki3dC1b8/v-deo.html
