- Mega Man 11 (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch) from a series that hasn't gotten a proper game in a LONG time. After Keiji Inafune's Mighty No. 9 disappointed pretty hard, is Capcom's answer worth it? Let's discuss.

I accidentally said 9 instead of 8. Darn you, Stage Select! You made me think of the number 9! -Falcon
Well... what about the Wily stage? That makes 9...
You could say, that mistake was quite "Mighty" uh? I'll leave now, But Gudnite! I regret, nothing!
Hopefully this makes us all forget about Mighty Number 9
No problem sir 😊 We blame Jake Dino anyways.
God bless ya Sir Falcon
I was legit counting the stages when you were saying 9 getting so confused lmao
Should be titled "Just buy Mega Man 11"
But then he wouldn't get that sweet sweet ad revenue
I actually think I'd be more likely to click on a vid with that title tbh.
I mean yeah, it's a new Megaman game, it's actually pretty good, and it's only 30$, if you like Megaman games there's really no reason for you not to buy the game (if you can afford it that is, not everyone has alot of money)
^This I agree with.
Na I found the game boring tbh. Jot boring just not fun. I only played the demo though so might be that
Mega Man 11 just made Mighty No.9 feel like an anime nerd on prom night.
Mega Man 11 made my cry like an anime fan on prom night -Beck

@@brnk2 your pfp is amazing
Stubz Turner even though I haven't played Megaman 11 yet but that game was terrible it wasn't for me at all when I first heard about it I thought it was a new Megaman game No Lie
Wow, capcom seems to be on the roll now, with megaman 11, dmc 5, re 2 remake, and monster hunter world.
Yeah, capcom roxxx !
DMC 5's disgraceful microtransactions aside, yes, Capcom is doing good work on average.
@@manudosde As bad as microtransactions are, it's completely non-intrusive in DMC5.
@@manudosde yeah, they made so you can buy red orbs. I am kinda skeptical about that too. I just hope it doesn't take forever to buy all the skills and stuff without paying with real money.
utopic distortion play dmd 4 se it’s not gonna matter compared to how that one was
Complaining that a new Megaman game is too hard is like complaining that a new Ninja Gaiden game is too hard.
Michael Hill or that a telltale game is too easy
Yeah, there are different difficulties for a reason.
It's definitely too hard according to universal standard.
But not that hard after you died many times
Its not too hard that it becomes a rage fest like cuphead. Its just right for a megaman game and even as a veteran player I kept standing on my toes during some levels.*Flashbacks to Torch Man's stage*
People that think it's too hard never played MM2 LOL
So what you mean is... Thanks for making megaman great again?
Now they just have to make X great again
Great maybe ill buy a ps4 and ask for this.
Richard English You can get it on PC as well
@@MrNncon
I prefer the Switch version
Im gonna catch up on games over the holidays. For ps4pro. Ill try it but switch is a bit over priced n they "switch machines" before alot of games release.
God I love platformers.
It sometimes feel like a dying genre.
Action platformers you mean? In that case, me as well.
Thanks to indie games not really. Try Cuphead, 20xx, dead cells
Honestly platformers seem alive as ever really
@@kraw610 dead cells? Blearrghh
Same...Why cant someone make a game almost as good as super metroid? We are going on 24 years now with nothing even coming close besides Symphony of the night...
Hopefully this motivates Capcom to make Megaman X9
I personally think if this game sells well we'll more than likely see a MM12, but after that X9 could be a possibility. Personally I'm waiting for Legends 3 so we can tie up that whole crazy story arc that's been on hold for like 18 years or so.
@goggles789 Why wouldn't they be able to redeem it? Plenty of indie games have done the X formula right. It's entirely possible. Check out 20XX to see X done very well
@goggles789 X8 is really good
@@cumekira70 yea x8 was really good
MMX 8 was actually really good, but other than that, yeah, they haven't been great.
Highly recommend this game to anyone who likes Mega Man or platformers in general. A lot of good old-school challenge in this one. The Blue Bomber is back!
What's a better game Sonic mania or mega Man 11, if you've even played Sonic mania?
@@HyperGlameow Uncompareable. I've played through all the content of both, so it's very hard. They both did amazing on there games, and a great redemption for both characters. Sonic in recent years has been very bad, Megaman has had Mighty #9, which was terrible. Honestly, they're both amazing, and I'd tell you to buy both of them.
@@steadyeddy3519 k thanks man I appreciate your response
@@HyperGlameow Completely agree with Nano. They're definitely different styles, but I'd easily recommend both. I'd say if you like callbacks to older games, both of them will fit the bill, but I'd definitely try to play them at some point. Luckily they're pretty affordable!
I couldn’t even beat the demo lol
But can you make the bad guys cry like an anime fan on prom night?
I'm one of the not-at-all-mighty backers. A better than nothing one. $30 for MM11 is so little compare to $20 for MN9
You guys should make a new series "how this game reminds of us of dark souls" so you can stop mentioning it in all your other videos.
daftmagician If there were more modern games with a decent difficulty rating, the comparison wouldn’t be as necessary
i didn't say anything about the difficulty comparison. i saw a video where this guy says some mobile game reminds him of dark souls despite the fact that they play nothing alike, look nothing alike, nor was the difficulty of the game ever mentioned. also cuphead. if you're going to compare a difficult game, at least compare it to something closer in genre. even if it isn't as hard as the sacred cow that the souls series seems to be.
daftmagician I hear you, the game might get mentioned a little too much, but I think if you did a survey of people that know video games and asked them to name a hard game, a large portion would say Dark Souls. It’s relatable. If you’re making a video for an audience of millions it’s probably easier to go with the obvious option that everybody knows.
I do like your idea though, a video of all games with hard difficulties could break up the monotony and also give ideas to people who enjoy hard games of things to tackle next.
goggles789 ah yes i can see your point. i can see how dark souls, a game from 2011, was able to transcend time and inspire a series that began in 1987. i think you've won me over. also demon's souls came before dark souls and it is never mentioned even though it began that style of game.
When ppl say "like dark souls",what they mean it "its difficult".whether the game is any thing like dark souls makes them no difference lol.i learned this while playing sekiro lol.
Can't wait to play megaman battle royal

Isn't Mega Man already technically a Battle Royale?
I will buy this, eventually, but I still like X more (until 6), so I'd like a continuation of Mega Man X as well.
I just said the same thing. X was an awesome game. I hope Capcom bring him and Zero back
I love X, he needs no dog, no bird, no mechanic, no cat (gb), no sliding and no...what the hell was Eddie again?! 🤔
Plus X had way better gameplay too
X was awesome

i'm just waiting for the next battle network and starforce series
I'm just waiting for ZX to continue from its cliffhanger in ZXA.
10 years for christs sakes!
guys i dont think you will get any of that sry
I highly doubt it since both series has actually concluded. A new MMBN spin-off would be more fitting.
Id love to be able to play the battle network and Starforce games on the switch at some point
Battle network could have been such a fun series on 3ds
(See's trailer)
Look's cool but how good can it be?
(Play's demo)
GET ME THIS FREAKING MASTERPIECE!
🤣🤣
In my opinion the demo didn’t highlight some key parts that make this game great. For example, no returning characters and no shop were in the demo. I understand they kept away cutscenes to avoid spoilers, but the lack of a shop was just sad. I was skeptical at first, luckily I bought the game anyway and saw the rest of what the game had to offer.
So Capcom snubs Megaman, Inafune leaves and tries to make a spiritual successor and horribly fails, and then Capcom is inspired to finally making a good Megaman game.
That is some twisted irony there.
Inafune held megaman back.
DR.NEGA megaman as a whole was never for a story... The story is a staple the way its always presented, this similar to the comics... And its better to still have mysteries on to how a series connects to a future one because if not well... The open interpretation dies and the final result will be disappointing no matter who because it might seem stupid :/ much like the x series to megaman zero...or megaman zero to the zx series... It needs to stay the way it is...
@@juancarlosortiz4553 either x5 or x6 has Zero get into a capsule that is specifically programmed to not release him from his sleep until the events of the megaman Zero series. Its a quick scene but it does a fine job at linking the two. I haven't played zx is years and cannot remember the story is ever linked
Juan Cruz i get that... But the events from the x series and the zero series is still a mystery... Yeah zero 3 showed some chunks telling about the elf wars and omega and all that... But it was chunks... It still didnt say much about those events and its better off that way...

Yooka-Laylee might have been responsible for BK in Smash.
I always liked the X series better, but hopefully this sells well and we get even more Mega Man!

Kind of funny this game is same price as initial Mighty No.9 release...maybe Capcom was being cheeky
Still waiting for Mega Man X9 tho!
As someone who's favorite video game charcater is mega man I am very looking forward to buying it. From the demo it felt like a mega man game but with smoother controls, better graphics and and cool new mechanics. And happy that it's difficult that id expect from the series but also has modes that make it more accessible for casual players and kids
this was a really good review, nice to see mega man back 2018
I wanna play as Zero again... :(
that's megaman x/zero not megaman
Hopefully you can play as Proto Man in a challenge stage or something.
He died right? :'(
That health though at 6:26 oh man had me at the edge of my seat! Just clutched it man Nice!
Picked this up today along with Monster Hunter Word and Fallout 3 GOTY on a buy 2 get 1 free. Got all three for $20. Gonna count this as a score! 🤣
I absolutely love Mega Man 11, its hard to figure out where I would place it in the hierarchy of Mega Man games but I can easily see it becoming my third fav behind 2 and 4. I've been practising my speed runs all day today (took a break to rest my hands) planning on submitting to SGDQ next year
cool
goodluck
I think there still some time to submit to AGDQ
Anyone old enough to remember when Nintendo Power held a contest for a mega man game where you sent in your "evil robot" for a chance to have it in a future mega man game? They even printed a lot of submissions in the magazine too!
Yup -- my submission was printed, but so far a no-show in the series: Insect Man
If I recall Knight man and Wind man were the winners
Yeah, I submitted one. Didn’t make it in, but still. Was a cool thing.
I submitted sexman. Obviously that didn't make it into anything.
I remember reading that the illustrator for the One Punch Man manga created Dust Man and Crystal Man at the age of 12, and that it kick started his career as a manga illustrator.
its the Dark Souls of Mega Man
Nekotori no dark souls is the 3d megaman as megaman was difficult first
OR... Dark souls isn’t just difficult. People enjoy dark souls for other reasons. Dark souls should be treated like any other game because it’s more than ‘Just a hard game’
It makes you feel like Megaman.
That would be Mega Man Zero.
The Dark Souls of Mega Man would be Mega Man & Bass (Rockman & Forte}
You sound a little down Falcon.
Woah, someone seems to have their tinfoil hat on a little too tight
whatever helps you sleep at night, buddy
goggles789 But it IS a GOOD GAME. Just because your not maybe good at it doesn’t mean you downsize it.
Nobody is asking the right question. Megaman Legends 3?
if capcom gets to do it it will completely rule again
Just didn’t like the soundtrack. I was hoping something like megaman 2 or 3 music
I love Mega-Man and so I really appreciate your opinion on this one. Thanks!
this is the best review falcon has done ever it was like free style/script and a little bit faster . perfect
The introduction of the 8 Robot Master system in Mega Man 2 was great because it had more space for the NES opposed to the 6 in Mega Man 1. But since the newer games are on superior systems, I think adding more robot masters or Mavericks to future games, bringing the total up to 10 or 12 would benefit them greatly my opinion.
bruh I tried it, bought it on June 2022 so it's been at least 6 months. never really played it and only played 3 hours. it's so difficult, there's no guide where the boss's weakness is and you can't wall jump to evade machinewash boss (toxicman 2nd stage).
what annoys me the most is how there's always unnecessary small ledge/small space to jump trap with spikes around it and when you fail you had to restart from long checkpoint. there's a limit on different weapon but not on your OG's cannon, what ?
this game is too hard and annoys me so much, who need a stressfull game after a stressfull day at work ? I regret buying this game
Will X ever be revived too?
I hope so.
If you support this game, it will be possible a return of X
Hell, even a Legends collection for the revival of Legends 3
It will. And I'm gonna buy this and hopefully they will make X returns
I feel like X legacy collection is them trying to revive X. hang in there cause in due time i'm positive X will be back.
I've been playing Megaman 11 for a few days now, and I'm still on the 3rd guy... I'm also playing it on Normal, and you are not kidding when you say it is difficult.
I've beaten Megaman 1-4 on NES multiple times, and when Megaman 9 came out, I had a hard time with it, but now I can breeze thru it no problem.
This game however, the longer check points is very noticeable, and some of the level design is a bit 'off' for me. This is easily the hardest Megaman game I've played.
It looks like a great game, but I have to say that I prefer MegaMan X series, and I miss using Zero's blade and moves so much.
You right about the difficulty, MegaMan 3 on nes was my jam in the early 90s. And I play this one on casual.
Shut up and buy it. Its cheap and challenging. Also anyone can play it. It is by all means a Game not a story. In my opinion games have gotten less game like and more story based.
Story need to be apart of games, just like how story is apart of comics.
@@Prime_Legend unture look at pong no story at all
Pong? Lmao, wtf is that? Truth is, most single player games with stories are the ones that are most known and sell the best, as well are given a higher score by game critics. Also, a lot of gameplay only franchises struggle in the long run, with Mario being the only exception, and that is mainly because of his insane marketing.
The story brings context into what you're doing. Why should I play this game? What's the history or lore of this level? What am I trying to accomplish? Story in games give a reason to actually play the game, rather than simply playing the game because "I wanna have fun." If I just wanna have a simple fun experience, I'd rather play a phone games. On a console, I'm looking for a motivating, 8 hour+ and exciting experience that a game without story would never ever provide. Funny enough, Mario came up with stories in video games and that actually boosted their popularity.
Oh yeah What about sport games, racing games, most arcade games in the 70ś, and puzzle games. All have have single player with hardly no story and still fun. Look Tetris no story but billions of ppl have played and and enjoyed it. Story doesn´t really matter in games. You know what does matter Gameplay.
There is room for both types of games as well as games that balance both.
RE7 was supposed to be the biggest Capcom's comeback
MH World was supposed to be the biggest Capcom's comeback
Dead Rising 4 was supposed to be the biggest Capcom's comeback
Megaman 11 was supposed to be...
Well you get the idea.
I've been waiting for this for far too long
It is hard... really hard!
My gf said it was hard as well.
Probably everyone who tries it, will think its really hard.
You should go carefully at first until you get used to it, then you can go full on.
It won't be as hard after a while, but it will always challenge you :)
Demo was freakin hard as fuk!!!! I hope megaman X is around the corner. I love that version way better.
Taskmaster waaay better
I don’t feel it’s fair to say one is better than the other, since their approach to platforming is very different in both series. I love both either way.
@@joshuaprz3 X had a slightly more mature storyline. Also Zero was a great addition as he was utilized later in the series, but i would like to see a remake version of Megaman X where you can choose from either zero or X. Love mega man. Mega man 11 is totally kickass and I think with this game could come alot more mega man games and I'm totally behind that. I loved the first mega man game when it released. Mega man 11 does what I think the originals didn't do.
ngl Mega Man 11 is probably one of the best mega man games to exist like there’s is more Mega man games but this is a higher level
So far it is everything i wanted out of Mighty No.9
What's that?
Damn. No “skip a stage” micro transaction? Now I actually have to play the game damn.
Isn't it 8 stages to start given the center stage is just Mega Man
Usually its 8 at start and 3 more after all is defeated
Yay, a new good Megaman Game!
Hey. Hey Campcom. How about Megaman Legends 3? I mean, that poor blue boy is still stuck on the moon! Why don't you be nice and save him, hm?
Honestly, didn't have my expectations high so not disappointed.
People had high expectations and even they are really very happen so this game did great and its something to be proud of.
As someone whos 41 and played the old megaman games on nes which were my favorites this looks fantastic! Do want! Thanks for this review it was excellent.
I’m so ready to scream, cry, and break controllers like a kid again.
I heard there is a secret, older robot that wields the power of dementia: The C’mon Man!
Pretty damn curious
I just started and blockman destroyed me 13 times..but hes down
im playing on casual!
I started on Casual too when I played the demo. I beat him on Normal when I bought the full game.
9 stages, huh?
honestly, if they can do something like this to megaman X, I would be really happy.
i beat this game this morning....its awesome.
God damn you wasted no time !
I beat it also. The game is VERY short…but VERY good!
I mean...8 robot bosses and a Wily castle right? About the length of any of them.
The only downside is...the new mechanic. It's horrible
I was actually very impressed by Mega Man 11s story. It struck a very fine balance by staying very minimalistic while also telling something significant.
The opening dialogue between Light and Wily brought another level of "human-ness" and complexity to Wily and Light's relationship, as well as made Wily's motivations more fleshed out and unique.
And the mid-game dialogue where Dr. Light said that if he had actually tried to direct Wily on the right track rather than flat out telling him he was wrong was actually REALLY profound and a good message you wouldn't expect to see planted in a Mega Man game.
Then we have when you realize all Wily needed was guidance and he could have done great things with his invention, and that that it could have been reality if Light had been more patient with him. Then years later, after Wily has degenerated into an egotistical maniac, Dr. Light, the very person whose opposition drove Wily to who he is, takes WILY'S invention and uses it AGAINST him, for GOOD. It's a kind of sad irony that makes you feel a little sympathetic for Dr. Wily, and it really throws a curveball at everything when we now see Dr. Light has some responsibility in how everything turned out.
When you carefully consider it, there are some very clever, nuanced, and meaningful plot devices integrated into Mega Man 11s story that REALLY flesh out the characters and the universe.
Edit: I just also thought I should mention the cleverness how the Double Gear system served as both a gameplay gimmick and a storytelling motif for the theme of "working together"...cause gears work together. Just another subtle game-plot integration I wanted to point out.
To clarify one point, is there another Mega Man game that you would recommend to a first-timer over this one, or is MM11 as good of a starting point as any? What version? I've seen reviews that say the Playstation version has a slight input lag compared to the Xbox and Windows versions. And what about Mega Man X? What's the best of that series for someone playing for the first time? Or should I plan on mastering MM11 (or some other MM) before thinking of taking on X? Thank you in advance, the review was very good. Just wanted to make sure of that one point. MM11 attracts me more than the older games because it's the best *looking* in terms of the graphics.
I think 11 is a good start since it has multiple difficulties to suit everyone! As for the x series I'd say x1 or x4 are a good start
Hope that helps
Awesome game! Loving every second of it. Well except the Bounce Man level....fuck that level
Bounce Mans level wasn't even hard. I did 0 times. It wasn't annoying if you understood how the bouncing/physics works. I died Torch man though!! That level was hard. I am playing on the normal difficulty!
Wow, it's funny that you say nobody plays megaman for the story as the story of oll games combined is really damn good. This game did not even try to fit in with it
BuT wHaT aBoUt MeGaMaN lEgEnDs?!?!?!?!?
This game deserves the credit. It's both fun and challenging. Yeah, there are points I go "oh come on!" and then points where I feel good about improving.
And it makes sure it's gimmick of the game works well. The double gear system adds to the experience. Slowing things down or powering up your boss weapons (thus gaining new attacks with them) is fun and gives you weapons to tackle the challenges. This is a really good base to build off for future games. It felt right.
I tried Megaman 11's demo on easy mode and got absolutely destroyed. I'm no expert, but I was trying my hardest to make progress. Once I got a game over screen, all I could think was "that's suppose to be easy!?"
If we're comparing its level of challenge to Dark Souls, I'd say this goes so much further, both in difficulty and punishment.
RynKen This game is nowhere near as hard as DS unless you play on Superhero difficulty. The Double Gears give you a lot of leeway. Plus, bolts for E-Tanks and extra lives are super easy to rack up. It’s one of the easier games, Imo, but still super fun.
"One of the easier games" I find that hard to believe, especially after watching this video, but thank you for mentioning your point of view.
Some people just aren't as good in platformers, but most people would agree that Megaman is easier than DS simply because of how many resources it gives you and how easy it is to beat the bosses with the right weapon. Classic Megaman always has had a backwards difficulty curve until the Willy Stage, the X series even more so because of the upgrades. The hardest level in Megaman until Willy Stage is almost always the first one you pick.
Bought it, finished it, (on normal) loved it. Likely going to replay it on hard soon.
When is AC odessey before you buy video happening?
Right!
Probably friday
with this im hoping legends 3 gets un shelfed updated and finished
Just buy it, support megaman
I got it on release and I've beat it twise. I deffinantly recomend it
Never played any megaman game. Anyone else?
Rubbers are for land lubbers thats dumb but okay
Probably a lot of people but me personally I’ve played quite a few of them but I don’t really like them as much as I used to
Henrik 3riksen I’ve never really played a lot of the originals. I always thought the early X games were far superior.
Now's your chance. The series is great. I may be biased tho lol
Oh God ur missing out been playing this shit since I was like 4
As long as there wasn't any "Jump Jump slide slide JumsliJump slidJump Jump" moments lol
Don't look at it
Degenerate
Double Gear is temporary
But Skyrim is forever
It's it 2.5D? Not 3D.. I could be wrong.
Finally, someone else who thinks that the levels are a good length! If anything, I remember playing old Mega Man games where the stages felt shorter but more daunting/spammy. Mega Man 11 felt like it gave you the space to jump around and have a good time while making your way through enemies, bosses, and dangerous insta-kill scenarios.
X had a slightly more mature storyline. Also Zero was a great addition as he was utilized later in the series, but i would like to see a remake version of Megaman X where you can choose from either zero or X. It would be nice to see the different routes and stages Zero goes when they part there separate ways at the end of the first stage and meet up later at the end of the game.
I love mega man (my sister does not) blue bomber!!
Impact man could be an awesome transformer.

Lol, you sure about that?
Realy thank you capcom for getting megaman back for us i was so sad when the megaman x 9 didnt realsed
soooooo can we please get back the Battle Net series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would love to see a new X game like this, and by “like this,” I mean good.
I love Mega Man 11!!! The gameplay is reminiscent of the old titles but with easier controls. The graphics are beautifully updated with a nice color pallet and textures. I'm looking forward to XII.
they should make a mega man X remake or something , with new story new voice actors , i like x more than the OG meg man because of the armor upgrades , the black and the falcon armor and so on , also being able to play as zero , which is like my favorite game character when i was a kid xD
X1 was already remade before.
Before you buy, make sure you are not a rich fortnite kid who calls every other games trash
I'm praying for a StarForce 4, Come on Capcom do it.
Yes yes i want it will make SF4 the series it should of been and BN7
If you have played older Megaman games, those gimmicks aren't completely New!
Never played MegaMan 11 but I gotta say it looks great and hopefully they bring back the MegaMan X series cuz to me those games are amazing from the color palettes to the music
In the end as a friend said. Except no substitutes. Mega Man 11 is proof that the company involved with it, is where it really needs to stay. Inafune only adopted the series, but wasn't the creator, and to even bridge that and say it's better than Mighty No. 9 is like saying it's better than a fan game. While Mighty No.9 was indeed made to be a new Mega Man, it was just that, a wanna be copy. So no more of this, MN9 is tied to MM, because of creator stuff. It was like any other fan game out there, but when it comes down to it, Mega Man is back by it's rightful owners and they just did a great job representing what the older games were. I do wonder where they will take things now.
haven't watched one of these videos in a while and he just HAD to name drop his stupid favorite freaking game again
not sure why I got my hopes up that something would have changed, Falcon could be talking about math homework or going grocery shopping and would probably still find a way to tie in Dark Souls
i gave these guys another chance but now i regret it, time to block'm and find someone who can talk about a game in an interesting and insightful manner and not just constantly bring up their favorite game they love to talk about regardless of whether it's relevant or not >>
Really hasn't anyone noticed you can still switch weapons with the trigger/R2 L2/ZL2 ZR2 buttons? Or they just ommit it on purpose to rant about the left stick switching?
My only problem with the original megaman series is that when you are able to dash, you need to press down + jump to do it, like in Megaman 8. If they have an exclusive dash button in this game it's perfect for me. I still think that a new X series game would be better than a new original megaman game though.
Would you recommend if you actually beat and liked Mighty No.9?
I'm a 80s baby and this is a must
I'm super stoked for Megaman 12
If it happens.
Me: mega man 11 is my first mega man game.
Also me: SUPERHERO MODE FIRST PLAYTHROUGH BOIS
Block man= stone man
Bounce man= spring man
Tundra man= freeze man
Torch man=fire man
Impact man= kinda drill man
Blast man= crash man
Fuse man= elec man
Acid man= burst man
Megaman is one of those games that was always too difficult for me to find interesting without getting too frustrated
Now this is a better review compare to IGN's questionable 7.5 rating
