My 10 yr old grandson LOVES this gun. I put a reflex sight on it to help keep weight to a minimum and nothing inside of 30 yards gets away from him. I also got a better magazine from Maple Mt in Canada and it is very well made. Great little gun for 233$ @ PYA. BTW the NOTOS likes the lighter weight pellets ..ie...16 grains and down.
@@OTSAI wouldn't be afraid to put a 4x32 scope on it , you can get one cheap . People make such a big deal from variable power scopes. They site in at a certain range and scope power say 30 yards at 6 power . Then they shoot at the same target but increase the zoom to 7 x or 8x or higher they get a completely different POI . 4x32 scopes are commonly sighted for 30 yards . Hatsan has a pretty nice scope called the optima , but in all honesty I like iron sights as well .
Yeah the jet is right up there with .22 magnum powder burners. I was hoping the heavier pellet would tame it a bit, and while it did some it's still LOUD
Lol. It was a must. They are actually for sale in my store. Everything you see me wear is designed by me and available for purchase. Not saying you should buy one, but it's there in the description of each video 😎🍻 Yeah I know, I just shilled myself, sorry couldn't help it 🤣
@OTSA haha awesome ill take a look, i shoot daily i literally have your voice going off in my head paa ding all the time anyway so i may aswell dive right in 🤣🤣
good video but fair comparison would be scope on all guns tested . I own jet, notos, sortie and with scope they are extremely close to each other even out to 50 yards lighter crossman pellets work great with jet
I don't disagree with your way of doing it, but this is only round one. Stay tuned, you will see the method to my madness as the series goes on. There's a bigger picture we are working towards. You will understand and it will all come together by the end of the series. 🍻
I own a Sortie and Jet 1, both in .177, and a Notos in .22. Both the Jet and Sortie have great accuracy with the right optic and pellets, but the Notos is a cut above both in accuracy and construction. Umarex, in MY experience, builds great airguns (I have owned several). Hatsan's airguns always seem to need some finessing to get them to work properly.
Very good video, and the Notos and the Marauder are outstanding. I like your style and explanations; although i am basically a PCP airgunner you have brought a refreshing look at the whole variety of airguns available - and i like them all.
Nice shooting Riddict! I hope your back is healing. Great concept and video series! Some people might call foul using a Crosman Pellet in this testing, LOL It favoring a Crosman/Benjamin air rifle! If you want a similar weight and shaped non-crosman pellet. The Rifle brand 18.67g is a nice priced pellet along with H&N Barracuda Match 21g are two great choices. Awesome job and looking forward to the series.
I have found Hatsans to be really pellet fussy and different for every gun (just my experience). I think to be fair to the guns you'd really need to optimise the pellet and mount a comparable optic for each gun. I know you can shoot but I've seen the Notos do a lot better than that so I think it wants a different pellet. Personally I'd choose the Notos for the best compromise on accuracy and value.
Hey Riddick, Thanks for the great video. I like your choices for the versus video. Personally, I would buy a full sized rifle or at least a full sized bull pup for the versatility of range, the higher shot count, and the extra power, but if I had to go with a carbine I would probably also go with the Notos or the Benjamin. They look the most durable and light to me. Besides the P-rod, are any of them a more compactable, takedown type platform? Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.
I really like the Hatsan Jet for easy portability, since the stock simply snaps on with a press of a button. The Sortie Tact has a folding stock, but otherwise you have to remove a screw to fully remove it. Same with the Benjamin or Notos, requiring screws to remove or add the stock. So on the go in a backpack, the Jet wins that one. However it's VERY loud. My top choice is still between the Notos or Benjamin for build quality. 🍻
@@OTSA Hey Riddick, Thanks for your prompt reply. Maybe when you're done with this series you can do a portability/versus video just on "back pack friendly platforms for survival/shtf." Stay Safe. Be Well. GOD BLESS.
I've shot open sights my whole life. It's a grouping comparison, not a bullseye comparison. I'm shooting in exactly the same spot when I use open sights. They will group just the same if I was using a scope to center it on a bullseye. The sight on the Benjamin is a red/green dot with no magnification, it's basically an open sight, only illuminated. I can take the scope off of the Notos and put open sights on it. I guarantee it will group the same. Stay tuned and you will see. 🍻
@@OTSA Like you, I have shot open sights since I was a very young guy too. I guess I have a different experience. I always shoot better with a scope. Love your channel by the way and I too am wanting the 392 limited edition.
Are the barrels clean? A better test would be to use whatever Pellet each gun likes. You can't compare with the same Pellet out of different guns bud. Not conclusive. If 2 of the guns hate that one type of Pellet it's not a real test. Lol... Either way the 2 best guns still came out on top. I'm big into carbins and they all like different pellets. If I was to use a pellet that my best most accurate carbine didn't like, the test would show a different gun to be better, which wouldn't be true, it would only show what guns liked the pellet you used. So really this should be a (WHAT CARBINE LIKES THE 19GR. ULTRA HEAVIES BEST VIDEO)!!!😉 Just something to think about when you do comparisons. So great crosman 19gr. Pellet test video.
I do appreciate your input, but you're preaching to the choir there bud. Out of the pellets I have ON HAND, (not a wide variety) the Ultra Heavys tested best in all four guns. That didn't happen on camera, I do a lot of testing off camera before I hit record. Had I not run out of the H&N's, I would have used those in the P-Rod. The Ultra Heavys were the best overall performance between all 4, so that's what you got. There's a reason this is only round 1. We got a ways to go my friend. Also, every gun I buy the barrel is cleaned. Unless it's one I unbox on camera and take a couple shots, then in that case it's cleaned after that. And the title of the video is just fine the way it is, it's non-descript. Battle of the PCP Carbines. A battle of what pellets are best, a battle of grouping, a battle of distances they can go, etc. So thanks, but I will be sticking with the title I have on there. 🍻
Almost bought a Sortie when they came out , glad now I didn't . I know looks absolutely nothing to do with performance but that thang is butt ugly , plus the fact I shoot left handed . None of those really spark my interest , I'm mostly a multi-pump - springer -break barrel shooter a SHTF person ( no air support needed ) . I do have PCP's but I find them kind of boring (no real challenge ). Nice comparison though , thank you . I have been dealing with back pain for 3 months now just now starting to feel almost normal . Take care brother 💪👍.

I've shot JSB's through all of these in other videos. Let me make this clear, it's ROUND 1 for a reason. This isn't a one and done video. We will be doing several tests and several distances with several pellets. By the end of the series, we will have the overall picture of what's the best out of the bunch. I figured by calling it ROUND 1 it would be pretty clear that this isn't an all encompassing video. Stay tuned, it will make sense by the end of the series. There is a method to my madness. 🍻

I assure you I'm not bias, and it's also just for fun, not to bash one or the other. A couple weeks ago I did a review on an OHHUNT Red Dot, and I used my Sortie for demo. You will see I gave the Sortie love. You will also notice this video is "Round 1" and there was a reason why I did what I did here, but if you are going through my video catalog you will see I never did the "Round 2" video because I was having issues that I needed to fix. I also discuss this in the subsequent videos I did on the Sortie and working out it's kinks. 🍻
