that's okay song is a comforting song that very popular in korea and choosen as a national healing song and even used for therapy. this song got recommended by hundreds of kpop idols, actors, and actresses. i love D.O. so much🥲
D.O. is the only singer ever who makes me listen to these typical slow and ballady kind of songs (like "that's ok") a lot of solo artist do. I really love his voice.

There's an article in Korea which mentioned that EXO D.O as one of the children born from Yoo Young-jin’s (South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer and vocal trainer under SM Entertainment) vocal cords. It refers to a singer who can digest Young-jin’s unique singing style. EXO D.O, Winter of aespa together with SES Bada and TVXQ Changmin are the vocalists who are characterized by their clean & neat singing while keeping the excitement of R&B genre.

About For Life (Eng. Ver.): Kyungsoo actually made it for an actor friend of him who was getting married. Kyungsoo sang the song at the wedding for them and later decided to make it his solo during the tour. It's the same rhythm as EXO's song 'For Life', but the lyrics are not all the same (kinda the same as Rose and Rose Eng Ver from empathy)
YYJ is considered the "Father of K-pop" he is a writer, producer and an amazing singer who has been in acting since the 80s. Each generation he chooses a special trainee who has great skills (especially r&b) and becomes his vocal coach. He trained BoA, Changmin (TVXQ), D.O. and more currently Winter (æspa) and only them! D.O. is called 'born from YYJ's vocal cords' for having the same unique vocal technique and skills
I listen to D.O.'s "That's Okay" whenever I want to relax.. He an excellent multifaceted artist..
Kyungsoo's singing seem so effortlessly, he opens his mouth and sweet melody will just flow out. He always do the runs and ad-lib so well in EXO songs.

That's Okay: It's the nation's healing song! The lyrics are beautiful and emotional, about self healing and accepting yourself and feeling good about who you are. D.O. wrote the lyrics himself, as expected of the self healing king. The essence of music is something the D.O. always says "Life is hard, no matter who you are or what you do" and moments of difficulty exist for everyone, everyone experiences sadness and happiness and THAT'S OKAY. It's okay just to be yourself. I recommend reading the translation of the lyrics 🥰
D.O. angelic tone is a blessing. His notes are perfectly rounded. EXO has put in their 10,000 hours of vocal training and then some. Like... Yey, it's D.O.'s turn. Thank you RJ for this reaction. Kyungsoo is also my bias, he brought me to EXO after watching 100dmp. D.O.'s runs, growls and cries during live performances is what I always look forward to. I can listen to his songs 24/7 without getting tired of his voice. Definitely one of the best singers and the world needs to know about it. I am really praying, hoping and dreaming of a D.O. and Bruno Mars or Ed Sheeran collab. 🙏🙏❤️

Do Kyungsoo is just incredible in every sense. He is one of the few vocalists who can make your heart flutter and cause a storm of emotions. He manages his deep voice and sweet timbre with such ease that the same part can sound completely different "starting very roughly and ending unrealistically gently". Kyungsoo's unique voice gives each song a unique charm. I'm ready to listen to his voice as much as I want.! Even when Kyungsoo just speaks, he wants to listen and listen to endlessly, such a pleasant voice.
No, "For Life" is an EXO song with a Korean and Mandarin version MV and all the members sing on the track. He is the vocal coach who helped train D.O. to be the amazing singer that you hear today. Yoo YoungJin has produced or collaborated on a large majority of SM's songs, and he is the one that is most often credited with coming up with the most iconic parts of SM's songs. For example, he is the one who does the ad libs and high notes in the background of Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry Answer" MV, and he is the one you hear harmonizing with Taeyeon in Girls' Generation's song "The Boys," etc. (Back in the day, his vocals and/or ad libs were used in a lot of SM's songs.) If you look up Yoo YoungJin, you would be surprised how many of SM's songs he has been involved in over the years, even still today. If you made a list, it would probably be easier to list the songs he didn't work on. LOL

Do Kyungsoo is just an incredible person that I will never stop admiring. At first glance, the album, the songs and his vocals may seem simple, but in fact it is not so at all. A large range does not make you a better vocalist yet, because another important role is played by the "technique", which Kyungsoo undoubtedly has great. He has such control over his voice that he makes all the transitions from low to high notes completely smoothly and even seems to make no effort. Quite naturally, during a song, it can change its timbre from incredibly sweet to sexually rude and sound simply amazing in each. Kyungsoo is one of those few vocalists who can make your heart flutter.
EXO is my very first and only favorite band in the entire K-POP industry and baby Kyungsoo "D.O." is my very first and only bias in the entire K-POP industry. Or rather, it was love at first sight, of course all the members are unrealistically talented beauties, but it was baby D.O. who attracted my attention as soon as I saw him for the first time.

Kyungsoo's voice is everything. Idk but for me his voice kinda has a presence? Like, especially live, his tone is just so prominent and projects so much. I love how full and warm he sounds even while dancing. And yes, he really makes it look sooo easy.
That's Okay was Kyungsoo's departing gift for his fans, when he enlisted in the military. He wrote the lyrics himself. And the live clip was released right after his discharge. In the months of this enlistment the song became somewhat of a "healing song" in Korea. That song really is something special, and the MV is beautiful as well!
For Life is an EXO song! Kyungsoo sang the english version at the wedding of friends and it wasn't really meant for performances etc. But people loved it and he ended up performing it with Chanyeol as his solo stage during their concert.
Yoo Younjin was/is his vocal coach and a legend himself! He's like one of THE songwriter/composer/producer of SM and known for his amazing vocal abilities. He's the one that sang the Sticker demo, which made that song so intimidating for Doyoung and Haechan :D

RJ, there's a fun fact about Yoo Youngjin, aside from being a vocal coach to D.O., he is also a vocal coach to Aespa Winter and TVXQ Changmin. If you listen to them you will find the similarities in their singing, not sure if it just me but I really think those three have kind of similar style and addicting voice.

It's been a while but i saw you reacted to our bias so had to come have a look. You know why D.O. is my bias? It's not only because he he has beautiful voice but it's what he makes me feel. He had the power to make me cry, smile or comfort me even without knowing what he is singing. Btw D.O. hadn't done a lot of Solo work before he enlisted. Do you know how many times i played That's Okay just to hear his voice. I missed him so much it was hard. I remember the day he came back i shed tears of relief and joy. I cried over his live too. Yoo younjin is his vocal teacher, he is a very famous musician of SM. tell me what is love is a song that even if i listen to it 100 times, i still don't get bored. both D.O.'s Empathy solo album. also, heal my soul when weary. It's an album where I can't choose which is my favorite song because I like them all. That's okay is a song that many artists love and is chosen as the best healing song. This song was written by himself and released when he enlisted. for life if you like you can listen to the version where he sings out of rhythm (the way he handles it is funny) This guy is small but very kind and simple, love him as much as you can. When Kyungsoo sung THAT'S OKAY in live was his after dischargement from military. he left that song to Exo-L & Exo's that no matter how we faced a though we will be okay. The cactus prefer to his members too who lived in dormed with him in many years. The song is too healing one of my most favorate if i felt down, discouraged or even when I want someone can comfort me.

and EXO.. its my comfort song. The 1st time i heard this song (a year after this song released) i cried eventhough i didn't understand the meaning of the song (the mv has no lyrics right?).. this song is so comforting. I played this song 3 days nonstsop after hear it for the 1st song. And it made me fall for D.O. voice until now and he is my ult bias among all singers in the world 💙
