When firing any battery power solution. It depends at full power, yes, but if you have a 1200ws solution, firing at 500ws is not going to get a recycle time that long. That a solution buy more powerful lights than you need. Profoto needs something akin to the ad1200 pro, or the old Broncolor Move (the new ones are slower)
I'm glad they came out with this because not everyone needs 750w at $1,000+ for the D3. This is a great release in my opinion to have the latest tech with savings in mind.
The mounting bracket for the D30 looks nice and robust. Is it stronger/easier to tighten than the B10x+? Can the D30 mounting bracket fit on the B10x+?
I think you get it for the recycle time and the recycle time alone. You know when and if you need it. Personally, I don't, so nothing to see for me either, but I know some people who need the recycle time. Good for them, I guess.

Great Video!!

Same function as an umbrella?
I was thinking exactly the same, but 10 times more expensive...
Thanks for the news.
Zoom rod. Broncolor Para?

They appear to be exactly the same to me. The D30 is more robust in the outer shell and that's why it can handle larger modifiers. -P
Great versatility
Nice new tool
From the time you said AC power I was gone.
i'm glad that you didn't call that a para alternative.
As somebody else said, it's an expensive add-on to replicate silver umbrella results.
What exactly is a para alternative? Do all of these options produce similar looking light?
@@FStoppers , parabolic shaped modifier. This in my opinion is absolutely the same as a silver deep umbrella.
The thing is you can use any modifier so if you have a deeper or shallower box, you can get different looks out of those too. -P
Could they have picked a name that wasn't something Canon had already used for the name of a camera body....??
No battery! Nothing to see here. I quit running wires in my studio years ago.
This is an update to their system for studio photographers with higher demands that what a battery can provide -P
@@FStoppers I always buy a replacement battery.

@@vernonr7404 It's not about running out of battery, but rather recycle times.
Some people need/want faster recycling times…
you zoom to 200% to easy see the difference...
$2k for a flash you plug in and trip over again.
