This a great phone using last year’s chip that is affordable. Unfortunately, there are a few handicaps to entice people to buy the actual OnePlus 12, such as the very low res 8 MP ultrawide camera (12 MP is what I consider bare minimum) and the lack of wireless charging.
Currently USA price is $439 with sale and recycle discount easily applied for the OP12R upgraded version 12/256 . The OP 12 in USA base model is usually about $100 more than 12R..so I agree with you and would get the 12 if budget allows. Obviously, both 12 and 12r are best bang for your buck phones that are going to give the Big Three: Samsung, Google, and Apple some much needed competition.
0-100% in 26 minutes with the included charger kind of makes the wireless charging argument null. The cameras are serviceable for mist use cases. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better value off the shelf in the US, especially if dual physical sims are important to you. I mean direct category competitors are the S23 FE terrible chip set. Pixel 8a actually more expensive...of course it depends on your use case, OS preference etc. But this is definitely the best alrounder imo.
Use a plastic sheet with the thickness of a playing card mixed with a little alcohol, and then heat it repeatedly. The back cover should be easier to open.
Yup, not all alcohol is good to use though. Higher percentage isopropyl is best so it dries up quicker. But not everyone has it on hand so yep. Heat, suction cup tool and a pry tool will do fine.
So upset 😭 but hoping this video helps me. I've only had my OnePlus12 for lit 3 days and the thing slid out of my pocket when I went to stand up and shattered the backing 😭 I just shoveled out $800 for this phone because my iPhone 11 died after 6years of use. Come to find out the back of the OnePlus 12 is cheaply made plasticy thin and underneath it is literally a thin rubbery layer 😕 so now I'm terrified my phone is doomed. I'm hoping I can get a replacement on it as soon as possible, but I've never had to replace a backing before. Any good advice would be helpful
The back glass isn't hard to replace. Just use a hary dryer, apply heat to loosen the adhesive, and use a suction cup tool to lift up to be able to get a pry tool in between the glass and frame, run it around the sides to pry the back off. Then replace it with the new replacement back. Just make sure to pry off the old adhesive on the frame before applying the replacement glass which will most likely come with the new adhesive pre installed. Just peel the plastic cover over the adhesive and re apply over your phone. Here is a link for some on ebay but these are for the oneplus 12. If you need it for the 12r, then search for the 12r instead. www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=oneplus+12+back+glass+replacement&_sacat=0
The iphone 11 was released 4.5 yeasr ago ( sept 2019), how could you use it for 6 years ? xD Also, don't worry too much about that, use a case and you shoud be good
Hello, So I am in a bit of a problem here with my newly purchased 1+ 12r in which while putting in my sim card I poked the wrong hole 💀 with the provided sim ejector tool. I pierced the mic hole and now I am worried if water can go in through that hole and damage my phone or cause warranty void issues.... Please help me with this info so that I can have some closure and piece of mind with this phone. Thanks for making such nice informative videos PBK.
Snapdragon chip same as in Samsung 23. Unbeatable especially in a 12R that sells with discounts in USA for $439 with 16/256 version. 12 and 12R in competition for phone of the year 2024. For $439 even fanboys if Apple, Samsung and Google can buy one and see what the competition can do. Impressive! The 12 can be bought for about $100 more than 12r in USA so most people will get 12 here.
Hey ,i accidentally poked the bottom mic with ejection pin 😢 ,will it cause any damage to the mic or the waterproofing layer ? Please reply ❤ Edit:- I reinserted it with very slight power to check but it feels like some rubber sheild which is broken? Sry for my bad English as well ❤

OnePlus's main Market is India. And we don't use much of wireless charging here. That's why they omit this feature to cost cut.

Where are the proximity sensors, accelerometer, gyroscope? My 12r got wet and none of the sensors work anymore. Help!!
Does it have 2 physical LED flash diffuser working or the other one is just a showpiece?
just one. The other one you see on the camera bezel assembly is the cover for the light sensor on the back.

Hi, you should be fine. The mic n filter are seated above the hole so shouldn't be damaged. Thanks
Same mistake 😢
Me also 🙃
Can you make disassembly video of OnePlus Nord CE 4
Seems well thought out.

Is the internal structure of one plus 12 same as one plus 12r if not can you pls do a repair video on one plus 12 as well.
no its not entirely the same. Many others have already done teardowns on the 12 so wouldn't be worth the cost vs views the video would get.
In my Oneplus 12r google assistance is not working I did everything but still not working
Does it have pixelworks x7 chip
