90's teenagers grew up to AIDS, Cold War, Crack, violent crime etc in the 80's. In 1989 you had the USSR fall which is hard to explain to anyone who didn't live through it but more significant than 9/11 in the national psyche. There was a huge shift in music around that same time with modernization of hip hop, rejection of 80's pop and hair metal, explosion of indy labels, electronic music and rave culture, the jamband era sort of started then too, lots of big shifts in music.
I was 16 in 91😂 this is so good and I'm glad to see younger generations listening to it but they'll never really understand what it was when we grow up this was brand new like hip Hop was brand new rap getting started but hip Hop was like very underground at that time
This is my favorite group of all time, clever punch lines , jazz influenced, chance taking creativity. Dr Dre said the album - Low End Theory, was his primary influence in making The Chronic .
There was so much originality and creativity back then. From the rappers to the DJs (producers) and even the video directors. All were trying to make their mark. That's why that era, the late 80s to the mid 90s was called the Golden Era of Hip-Hop. A Tribe Called Quest was the truth. R.I.P to Phife Dawg
A tribe called quest is the group that made me transition from hard rock to hip hop. Love this group. Love to see you "youngsters" appreciating some of the old hip hop that paved the way for some of the new stuff.
Back in the 90's, most videos were just with people standing on street corners or rapping in a park or an apartment to keep the cost of the video down. These guys were all about doing things different so they hit up some film student in NYU to come up with a concept to being life to what was essentially an album cut that was never meant to be a radio song.
Timeless classic! A Tribe Called Quest deserves everything good they ever happened to them! I miss those old substantive Hip-Hop days!... hope it can comeback🤘❤🤟
I was a sophomore in high school when this album dropped and I literally cut class to go to the record store to buy the Low End Theory...this is one thing I think my era has over today...a new artist dropped and physically going to a store to get it, going back to the crib and calling your friends to come through and listen to it together and the days and moments that created made us feel a closer connection to the music and the artist. I will literally never forget that day and how I was like I'm risking my behind for Tribe Called Quest and it better be worth it...and then they drop one of the BEST HIP HOP ALBUMS OF ALL TIME. Young people I don't say it condescendingly please listen to this album, there is a reason Tribe is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
Yoo! I’m 40, I’m old. But this was what my older cousins were listening to. So as a kid, it was mindblowing! It’s dope when younger generations recognize this greatness. You gotta realize this music was not at all as accessible during its time. This was super underground. ATCQ would have been equivalent to an obscure artist on SoundCloud or even a random UA-cam rapper.
The Low End Theory is debatably the best album in hip hop history. Excursions was the first track on this album and it just hits. RIP Phife. I LOVE QUEST
Hey guys the reason for exaggerated white plastic eyes in the second video, is because the name of that song is called "Buggin Out" So they are rapping about buggin out lyrically, street-wise, Just everything. So they create unique visuals to go along with it.
My favorite ATCQ song of All Time .. This was the era where there was Yo MTV Raps & BET's Rap City that played Hip Hop music videos on nationwide level ..ATCQ 1st 3 albums was pure Fire!! My Favorite Rap group of All Time!!
My brothers I am soo happy that you have been led on a path of enlightenment thru music by seeing how Hip Hop & Rap in the past had a conscious awakening of our minds. Unlike most of the destructive mutations of the culture, of today, that has spawned ignorance and self destruction, from the industry. However, the spirit of the culture is awakening again resulting in lbothers like you seeing the pure artform. Also, in this Era of music consciousness there was no need for cursing, profanity and vulgarness. Just knowledge and Understanding. Please listen to KRS "The MC" and his newest The Beginning" they will blow your mind!
A Tribe Called Quest is the greatest HipHop group that came from Hip Hop music gender. They are so good that J Dilla - so desperately wanted to work with them. That's how good they were, and in 2nd place in my opinion are = GANG STAR...
yes, this was kinda 2 videos in one. Buggin' out is a separate song that they dropped a piece in at the end. Check out all of this album (Low End Theory) and its follow up (Midnight Marauders) all bangers
RIP Phife Dawg! You can do damn near any ATCQ from the 90's and their videos were transcendent. "Check The Rhime" was another. Also, the eyes were a nod at the title of the second song being titled, "Bugging Out."
even you guys underrated them.sheesh. Please learn what their influence has done for hip hop, check out the Native Tongues movement and feel that vibe.
Bro, you haven't done ATCQ until you react to "Award Tour" & "Scenario" both Fire and is what Started Busta Rhymes career. Please react to these two.🔥💯👍🏿
80s we had color TV. Even in the 70s the had color tv.. Those video èffect you had to pay for. Wasn't no laptops, tablets or iPhone. Those computers were expensive back then and they had to be programed and software installed. Wasn't no apps with filters.
One more thing, because I am currently watching your reaction. You asked , when there was a song change, why are their eyes like that. The eyes symbolizes that their eyes have been eyes are open insteD of being as it was,,,wide shut.
4:15 to 5:35 - This verse is full of cocky shit talking ,Phife is like "I don't care who don't like it , but you know it's good and you will respect it!" ....see you at a theater nearest you 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Pretty sure the guy that did the instrumentals was an older fellow who wouldnt record with them if they cussed. I could have it mixed up with another point in their career, but you'll notice they're just not very vulgar in general
Bruh, 90s had color? Please do a reaction to The Wizard of Oz so I can see your face when it transitions to color. I'd hope you wouldn't think they made the second part last year to add to the first. Jesus mercy, that was funny. My daughter said, maybe they've never watched a black and white film, just game, watch recent movies... Did he take an art class? I told her, you didn't mean it, couldn't have.
Wait, did you just say they had color TV in the nineties, but not in the 80's? C'mon kids, you don't need to know everything but you should know that color TVs were created in the 1920's and 30's, and they were common in homes by the 50's and 60's. I'm just sayin'
"The 90's had color" is hilarious! 😂😂😂
So did the 60's lol. But this is dope these guys are reacting to the right tracks.
The 90’s had color😂 oh lord that had me rofl 😊
When I said that I stopped watching😂 a little distraught but then I continued

‘91
Tellin you…ATCQ ”Electric Relaxation “ is everything.
This album dropped in 1991 I was 15 when this came out used to bump it everyday they are a legendary group from New York
I was 16 in 91😂 this is so good and I'm glad to see younger generations listening to it but they'll never really understand what it was when we grow up this was brand new like hip Hop was brand new rap getting started but hip Hop was like very underground at that time
I was 12, at that time it was one of the few albums you can listen straight through and not skip a song. Epic from start to finish
Its my most listen to album ever. I was 11, still rock it.
We are the same age bro 👍
This is my favorite group of all time, clever punch lines , jazz influenced, chance taking creativity. Dr Dre said the album - Low End Theory, was his primary influence in making The Chronic .
His eyes were like that because he was “buggin’ out”. Buggin out was an old school term for spazzin, or blackin’ out, or going dumb…
The whole album, “Low End Theory” is perfection! It’s like listening to the coolest guys you know in a room just talking - great reaction
There was so much originality and creativity back then. From the rappers to the DJs (producers) and even the video directors. All were trying to make their mark. In 1991 I was 10 and been a fan ever since. Listen to " I Left My Wallet In El Segundo". Rest In Rhymes Phfife Dawg
Timeless classic! A Tribe Called Quest deserves everything good they ever happened to them! I miss those old substantive Hip-Hop days!... hope it can comeback🤘❤🤟
Early 90's. Still the best hip hop group of all-time. So dope!!!
And let's not forget that album drop the same day as wu-tang's debut 36 Chambers there were choices to be made back then
This is my favorite tribe track
in one word: ART
I’ve always replayed that part from Q Tip too. His flow, voice/ cadence is unmatched. As far as the video that transition was 🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate your raw reactions fellas. Keep up the good work. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

This album dropped right my first year in the Navy back in 1991. Everybody was bumping this album!
One of the greatest albums all time.
Check out “Electric Relaxation “, “Award Tour”, or “Scenario”
This album came out the year I was born, my pops raised me on the tribe
Thr video was just in black in white because it was a winter album and the song had a Jazzy cold NYC vibe.
This is the greatest album in hip hop history IMHO. Low End Theory. It gets no better. RIP Phife
I watch these reaction videos and it exaggerates how mature young music was back then compared to now. Tribe was kids here. Nas, a kid.
Tribe are like the lineage for the likes of Kanye, pharrell and Tyler. You check out of songs like electric relaxation, find away and scenario
This album is untouchable. Period...
Tribe is my favorite group next to Wu Tang this is off their 2nd album called The Low End Theory an absolute classic that dropped in 91
My favorite rap group ever. Check out Electric Relaxation or Award Tour or Bonita Applebum or Hot Sex
They are my best rap group of all time. ATCQ!
1. Award Tour 2. Check The Rhyme 3.Electric Relaxation 4. Hot Sex 5. Oh My God all Tribe Called Quest Videos are dope
Don't forget "Stressed Out"
The Low End Theory is debatably the best album in hip hop history. Excursions was the first track on this album and it just hits. RIP Phife. I LOVE QUEST
You’re listening to the greatest hip hop group of all time, no joke. I hope the new generation listens to this and is inspired to aim for the top

I appreciate the younger generation digging through the crates, such as these two gentlemen🔥🔥
Changed the way I made music. 💯 One of the most influential bands of my life. 😎
Still rock this today since day one
This was a good blast from the past. Thx for the reaction 👍
Love this use play this at night all the time

Boogie Down Productions "My Philosophy"
What a time to be alive couldn't wait for this video to come on rap city
One of my favorite and most slept on Tribe track..
Eric B and Rakim didi not do Jazz. Tribe did way more..
A Tribe Called Quest is the greatest HipHop group that came from Hip Hop music gender. They are so good that J Dilla - so desperately wanted to work with them. That's how good they were, and in 2nd place in my opinion are = GANG STAR...

You can do damn near any ATCQ from the 90's and their videos were transcendent.
"Check The Rhime" was another.
Also, the eyes were a nod at the title of the second song being titled, "Bugging Out."
90’s was where hip hop topped.
Damn my man, they had color film in the 1950’s …😆 …. They obviously chose to use b&w film for creativity purposes and an aesthetic choice .
Whole album 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Classic
2 different songs in this video. both songs are great and should be lsitened to in their entirety.
Y'all would dig - Award Tour. Another great song
Tribe Called Quest - Electric Relaxation
True innovators....
A-Tip is the shit. Love Tribe.
Steve Biko is maybe my favorite song, off their beat album Midnight Marauder
beat by Q-Tip (first rapper also lol), by way of Pete Rock
Q Tip producing is so legendary, that LL has a new album coming and Q Tip is producing his entire album . 💯
The Roots, De La Soul, and Digable Planets are three more that you should explore
IF you all want to see one the best ever direected videos, Check out "Drop" by Pharcyde
I was in high school in when this came out...... You were either heavy metal, or rap..... This was hip-hop....ATCQ
even you guys underrated them.sheesh. Please learn what their influence has done for hip hop, check out the Native Tongues movement and feel that vibe.
Low End theory is a Masterpiece
CLASSIC
The second song is called bugging out! They were bugging out! It's a New York slang.
Bro, you haven't done ATCQ until you react to
"Award Tour" & "Scenario" both Fire and is what Started Busta Rhymes career. Please react to these two.🔥💯👍🏿
Y'all wrong af for disrespecting the unique unbridled raw energy of ODB
The 90s had color is classic lol😅😅😅😂😂😂
I was 16 years old and in the 10th grade when this dropped and remember those times like it was yesterday.
Ahh man...the mem'ries!
You guys HAVE to do K Flay "sunburn"
The second song was called bugging out
80s we had color TV. Even in the 70s the had color tv.. Those video èffect you had to pay for. Wasn't no laptops, tablets or iPhone. Those computers were expensive back then and they had to be programed and software installed. Wasn't no apps with filters.
The song is called BUGGING OUT so he had those in the eyes. These are TWO DIFFERENT songs. Here it is….

One more thing, because I am currently watching your reaction. You asked , when there was a song change, why are their eyes like that. The eyes symbolizes that their eyes have been eyes are open insteD of being as it was,,,wide shut.

Gotta listen to EPMD-Headbanger
That verse at the end is "Buggin out", do the full song, you have to find it be itself. What was at the end is just a two verses.
ATCQ "Check the Rhime"
Eric B and Rakim did not come up with hip hop jazz. It was the tribe all quest that came with it.
Pretty sure the guy that did the instrumentals was an older fellow who wouldnt record with them if they cussed. I could have it mixed up with another point in their career, but you'll notice they're just not very vulgar in general
No all the production on their albums was done mostly by Q-Tip and occasionally Ali Shaheed did the tracks...they were always self produced
You got to be brave to go Acapella...
💚
He is wearing tanning glasses to make his eyes look huge.
Rakim is the 🐐
React to Scenario video from Tribe
Bruh, 90s had color? Please do a reaction to The Wizard of Oz so I can see your face when it transitions to color. I'd hope you wouldn't think they made the second part last year to add to the first. The other song in the video is Buggin Out
1990...91'
Nobody did it better.
React to ATCQ song Scenario with Leaders of The New School or Can i kick it
This came out 1991
the color video is another song and refers to the simpsons
Go listen to Gangstarr and Slum Village and De La Soul
Yo check out Blackstar Mos def & Talib Kwali "Definition" video
Ya won't regret it
