2016 Audi A6 3.0T quattro - WR TV POV Night Drive

- This week we’re at the helm of Audi’s mid-sized sports sedan, the A6. This particular model gets a zestier power train than the manual gearbox-equipped A5 coupe we recently tested, here powered by a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 making 333 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, rather than the 220 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque generated by the turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder that powered the A5.
Naturally, the A6 features Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system, here with a 40:60 torque split. Power gets routed to all four wheels by way of an 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifting.
Our tester came well appointed with the S Line Sport package (sport suspension and interior/exterior accents), the Prestige package (heads-up display, LED headlights, premium audio), and the Black Optic package, which includes the 10-spoke, titanium finish 20-inch wheels wrapped in high performance rubber.
While the base 2015 Audi A6 3.0T can be had for $57,400, with the included options this A6's price tag hits $66,875 with destination.

LED is pretty sufficient for city usage, and unless you're cruising on long highways that happen to not be illuminated or the weight and space savings are that important to the car/you, I think the premium is not gonna be worth it for the next 5 years at least.
Wess Lee Yup, Audi has laser headlights in production already, but not in the U.S. because it takes much longer to get through the red tape of regulations.

I like this much better than the 2019 model, back when Audi still had soul.
I prefer this body over the new gen. Not a fan of the stretched grill in the front on the 2019. I've been looking at 3.0t used 2017. Just not sure if reliability/maintenance costs will be overwhelming. Think I might take the plunge.
@@livegoodeathealthy5049 Thanks for the input! I'm looking at one around 30k mileage. I average about 15k year and would probably keep it to around 100k miles. Everything I'm reading says the 3.0t has been very reliable. I drive mostly highway and know it is a great cruiser with decent straight line acceleration.
The Sport seats are a dream. I love those and know they have the competition package but may just try to find one with the comfort package. Those seats look amazing as well.
Abso lutely I’m looking at a 2016 Audi A6 2.0t Quattro premium plus with 33k miles. Are they reliable? I really don’t know a lot about Audi’s. Any info will help!
@@phillyaccord5635 I've been researching the 3.0 tfsi quite a bit. It appears the cooling system has some faults. The thermostat, water pump will fail prematurely. Coolant leaks from the thermostat housing pipe are very common as well. You will also want to have carbon cleaning done. Around 75k miles. I've seen too many vids where they take the supercharger off and take a look at the ports. You will need to have it done if you intend to keep it.
Also motor mounts will fail prematurely.
Ask the dealer about these failure points and see if they can throw in replacement. If not give them the bird 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@David Dez dude 2017 is the exact same car with 2016, same model, same everything, why would you buy the 2017? It's double the mileage and 4k for half the mileage is excellent.

Those LED headlights are really bright
I REALLY like how the nav screen comes out of the dash (arguably even slicker in the Audi A3). Hopefully no issues with the motor in the future but really slick. Mercedes messed up big by sticking on an iPad on their dash, like a complete afterthought (why I passed on the new C-Class).

I hope the new A6's warm up quicker than my 01 A6 did, would literally drive around town for 15 minutes before the temp would be high enough for me to take the highway.

Thats not the S-tronic is it? I have the 2.0 tdi 7 speed automatic and it shifts way quicker than this one. How come? Btw the speedometer gauge is a bit different than mine too. I live in sweden if that would make any difference

Look really good but doesn't sound that good surprisingly. With a V6, I thought it would sound a bit better than it does

The pick up on this car going on highway, is that of a rice rocket. The nice and quiet silk like drive. Sporty and comfort. Hard to beat this one.
+r a cooper 0-60 in 5.1 secs, with great mpg. There's almost no reason to get the S6.

i know that there is an app for audi i think its called audi connect but im not sure if you can start the engine with it

***** I guess that's the advantage I have then of living in Ireland. The diesel engines are awesome combined with the quattro. My dad scared the shite out of me and himself when we went for a test drive in an audi a7 which had 245hp and 500nm of torque. It felt like a rocket ship

Starts at 70,000 if you want the S model
While it is their mid-size sedan, it is not their sports sedan. That would be reserved for at minimum the S6, if not their true performance mid-size, the RS6 and RS7. Additionally, the 3.0T only makes 310hp in the C7A6/7, not 333hp like in the S4/5.

No adaptive lighting cause it just lights up the corner lights. Basically substitutes the turning headlights in a better way

+Patrik Limani You don't know what you're talking about. You can buy a piece of crap basic small engine version for $42,000. The Prestige is top of the line with everything and special colors. That goes for up to $70,000. So used it is half price. It IS a good deal. PERIOD.
