I am from Fremont California, for whatever reason this album was very popular in the New wave culture. We had a big dance club called Stargaze and lots of college radio stations that would play this album ! I bought this album a few times due to the fact it was always being stolen . Great band love you guys ! Love the happy memories that you STILL bring us !♥️
So 37 years after first hearing this on a home made cassette from my then boyfriend in 1984, and 7 years after I found a copy of the record in Germany, I still fucking love it!! Thank you Peter Van Sonsbeek for letting me know of this wonderful Sheffield band. So under rated!!
Just started re-listening to this album. It's a crime how underrated these guys were and especially this album. I don't know why I hadn't done this before but it's absolutely on my top 10 albums list to take to a deserted island.
One of my favourite songs of all time. Had a old homemade copy of this in 1984 on a cassette that was given to me and never knew the album. Just got one from Germany and am now happy after years trying to find out who the band was. Love them.
@@fatherpaulstone896 Old? I'm 71 (old? well maybe.....) and was SO lucky to have lived through the 60's, 70's and 80's music - Hendrix, The Nice, Pink Floyd, Move, Amen Corner and more at one mad '67 Albert Hall gig, a couple of years' worth of ground-breaking FREE rock concerts in the London parks, including the classic Ratledge/Hopper/Wyatt Soft Machine line-up, Peter Banks playing unforgettable guitar with Yes, and countless other brilliant prog / rock acts having fun in the sun with MC John Peel, an unplugged Marc Bolan as Tyrannosaurus Rex -and Magic Michael dispensing free hash brownies to all and sundry...... Came the 70's, 80's and 90's - I found more interesting things happening in the jazz world and really didn't want to listen to much contemporary rock stuff other than Flash, Patto, Gentle Giant, Police, Diagram Brothers, Gang of Four and a few more - and - of course - for the best part of 20 years, bless them - the Comsat Angels. So here we are in the 2020's - and because there's nothing out there today in rock that moves me - omenapp is quite right - "this has [indeed] become music for old people" - thank God. Younger listeners - seek out the Comsat Angel's classic 1992 album 'My Mind's Eye' - and settle down with the volume on '11'...........
One of the nicest, sweetest and coolest chorus basslines that this bassist’s ever heard...
I close my eyes listening to this song and it's 1983 all over again

First track is amazing but this is also great. The album overall is my favorite from them.
