- U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken disagreed with his French counterpart, Stéphane Séjourné over Ukraine's drone strikes 'deep inside' Russian territory. While Antony Blinken said that U.S. doesn't support Ukrainian attacks on Russian territory, Stéphane Séjourné indicated that Ukraine was merely reacting in self-defence. This is the second time that NATO members U.S. and France didn't see eye to eye after French President Emmanuel Macron suggested putting boots on the ground in Ukraine to help it fight Russia. The US is already engaged in a preventive war against Russia in Ukraine. France has been at war with Russia from since their soldiers have been involved, what riled the French even more is that many of its erstwhile colonies in Africa are dumping the French due to its neo-colonial clamps and choosing Russia as their development partner. The USA will not sway the French on this one, its personal. This happens within a context where Macron is in terrible shape as well domestically & personally.
