- You haven't lived until you've heard a two cylinder 1959 John Deere under load... but you'd better bring ear plugs! Pop! Pop!
Croft Family Farms is a family owned and operated organic farm in Colorado where everyone in the family gets involved!
As the owner of a JD70, it is truly something you only can understand after spending time behind the wheel for a while. It gets into your soul and each startup is a new spark of energy!
My God dose that sound good what a time to be alive when these were roaming the farms in America
I wish your channel did better. That tractor sounds awesome. And is awesome. God bless you and yours.
Thanks for the video. That’s a great old tractor! My ears are still ringing from hundreds of hours on a ‘59 JD 730 in my youth. I second the ear plug vote! Ours had the pony motor start and no duals.
My neighbor had a late model 730 with flattop fenders and rollomatic trycycle. Loved that sound in the mornings. We had an A but the rest Allis. A spin of those 730 wheels in wer sand and you were stuck.
I like those old tractors very good video the 830 is one of my favorite I drove a 4020 jd with a 4 row disc as a 7 year old and you guys sound really good singing almost as good as the tractor😀
if i want singing ill go to a music site,,,,,lets let the engines sing a bit,,,
I have a smaller one. A 1956 john Deere 60. Retired; I do take for a ride once in a while. It has a straight pipe; I don't wear ear plugs; I love to hear that baby BARK! Mark. GREEN TRACTOR. 🙂👍
I still farm exclusively with two cylinders. MT - 720 diesel. Great mac hines !
I have alot of hours on 720 diesel, 620, A, G, 70 gas, 40 and a B nothing is like hearing a 2 cylinder under a good load great video never saw a 2 banger with dauls that should make it snort in right loads. Ps I once took a wedding party home on a friend of mines 730 gas with a straight pipe not fun on the hills should have had ear protection
Great tractor/video. Grass is a great grease and oil remover too.
Awesome tractor 👍 I would swap out those automotive street tire off the front.
Love it. Thanks
This is a video I took of my brother. He inherited this tractor from our Uncle Loren. He is the only one who gets fired up about the older stuff!
Spent many years on a JD 720, basically the same tractor..it was a late model 720, had electric start and 3pt. When they started this 730 it immediately took me back to 1972, I could even smell the dirt. Could’ve done without the singing though..
Worked many many hours on a 730 diesel. Electric start.
One cool tractor!
Rather hear the tractor than the singing.
That is one ya definitely don't want to fall off of....
rightfully the nicest 2 cylinder built! maybe 830?
What do you mean "it ain't pretty"? It's gorgeous!
very nice!
It is a fun experience to learn about the good old equipment!
We had the same Eversman land plane but without the S tine scarifiers attachment it was junked out by my dad in 64 or 65 it had belonged to my Granddad. I think he used it behind either a 70 JD or U Moline... but it was a good leveling tool
Dad had a 40" an "A" a 60 a "70" a "620" a 4020 and a 4520 Over his years of farming and a Ferguson 30
Awesome tractor
Ah, the sounds of the awesome 2 cylinder. I've always loved the "lettered" and the 20/30 series 2 cylinders. Biggest misconception with these old JD's, everyone always talks about the HP, it's really about the torque these low rpm engines produced. Love these old tractors. Still have my grand dad's '35 non styled "B", really need to get it restored. Cheers :)
I have many new parts for B unstyled. I can let you have cheep. I was to inherit but another family member had a lawsuit against the executors. To settle, I lost the tractor but had bought almost everything to restore. Let me know if interested.
I use have this tractor over 20 years best one ever had
The land plane I bought in 1981 was a Scott built in Dewitt Arkansas it was a 16 by 60 and I pulled it usally 2 to 4 times across the field first length wise then at 45 degrees then at opposite 45 degrees and lastly at 90 degrees to the first pass I made... it was a fantastic tool.
I'm from Oneida lake view area in Arkansas
My dad had a JD 730 diesel electric start but, sadly it gave up the ghost in 1970 broke crankshaft. Replaced by JD 4520 supposedly 125 hp tractor. We had a 1967 4020 that would do just as much work...
Yes that 4020 was truly a Workhorse I think the best tractor John Deere made to date
@kevindavis7822 4010, 4020, 3010, 3020 are still used everyday on a lot of farms they are still some of the best tractors out there for their horsepower range
The 730 diesel electric start had the decompression pedal as a starting aid it was a mechanical devise that was linked to the engine valve train by pushing it down with your left foot it opened the valves on the engine to disallow any compression allowing fast starting RPM you would release it and the engine usally started right up..
You need to steam clean your tractor 🚜
Got 2 -730 diesel electric start. 34 model A 39 model B 52 model G . Nothing runs like a Deere
Looks like Colorado east of i25 , back when I was a kid we had 2 that were over haul and turned up to where you could see smoke 20ty miles away.straight pipe is to loud.
Friend of mine had one of those animals. It had what was left of a muffler on it. But it sure would talk pullin the 4 16s he had a little wider than stock tire with more wheel weights on it, but it sure was a pulling machine in the field. So we would banter back n forth over green vs Red... 😎👍🇺🇸
I grew up with a little JD 420 gasoline row crop tricycle front end. Man! That thing was powerful compared to Farmalls and Ford Ns.
The fuel is turned up too
Have you ever run the 57 JD 720 in a tractor pulling event
We all wanted to hear the tractor not that crappy sing
Farmed with two 730s during the seventys
rather hear the tractor
AOS 6 ANOS APRENDI DIRIGIR EM UM DESTE.
That would sure benefit from putting a turbo on there - use up that fuel you’re blowing out the exhaust, likely sound a lot better too (never liked the sound of those old twins).
My last name is Eversman lol
you need to catch that smoke and recycle that wasted fuel !
Don’t need any music!
speaking of engine sound and then he ruins it all with singing,,,,,,
Umnn...it did NOT hold fuel efficiency record nowhere near that long, in fact it was less than 10 years , & Massey Ferguson beat it, that's the real cold hard truth, fact !!!
Held record for 27 years by Nebraska Tests 1956 to 1981. Check it out!
man it really doesnt need that awful singing everytime you look at the plane
se oye que que no tiene power
