Unbelievable. Now I understand why these things are so expensive. In Command Modern Operations you can see the difference between the guidance systems pretty well and it's no wonder the price is so high when you simply install four or five different navigation instruments in one single weapon. All to hit more accurately and protect civilians. I assume GPS is the primary control device for the Tomahawk? If so, is INS less susceptible to jamming because it can be programmed before it gets within range of jammers? The same with TERCOM? Or is that used instead of INS (and GPS) when the missile is flying low? There are certainly more attack modes for the Tomahawk than just the low-level approach I guess. As always, excellently delivered knowledge that is hard to get anywhere else. I'd love to see more of it.
